Young Life Taken By Rare Disease.

At 6 o'clock this morning the young life of Harold Lee Bagwell, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bagwell, one mile north of Union City, came to an end after a gallant battle for life since March 10 against the rare and mysterious disease, lymphatic leukemia. He was a patient in the Union City hospital one week and in the Ball Memorial Hospital at Muncie until one week ago when he was returned to his home. While in the hospital many blood transfusions were used in an effort to save the young patient's life.

Harold was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Darke County, Ohio, near Union City. He was graduated from the Jackson, Ind., high school in the class of 1942. He was engaged in farming with his father and was a member of the Union City Church of the Brethren. The sudden termination of his promising young life brings sorrow to an entire community.

Surviving besides the parents are two brothers, Pvt. Frank Bagwell of Camp Howze, Texas; and Carroll Bagwell of Camp Wellston, Mich; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Eikenberry of Greenville, Ohio, Rural Route 2, and Miss Vera Bagwell at home.

Funeral services will be held at the Union City Church of the Brethren Saturday at 2 p. m. (CWT) with Rev. D. G. Berkebile officiating. Friends may call at the Bagwell home after 10 a. m. Friday.
