Janice spent many years serving at the Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and clog dancing.
She is survived by her son, Fred Watson Jr. and daughter-in-law, Judy of Whitesboro, daughter, Sharon Watts of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Karen McMillion and son-in-law, Charles of Southmayd; Grandchildren, Bret Watson, Bart Watson, Brock Watson, London Watts, and Angela Copeland; Nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wendell Bagwell, Wayland Bagwell, Waymon Bagwell, Sister, Gyndola Malena as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Mildred Bagwell, husband of 49 years, Fred Watson Sr., Al Miller, two brothers, Wayne Bagwell and Weldon Bagwell and two sisters Maydeen Edwards and Carrie Geraldine Bagwell.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.

She was buried at Oak Wood Cemetery, Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas.

She married Walter Vernon Edwards in Abilene on June 11, 1978.

Madeene was affiliated with the VFW and Hendrick Hospital Auxillary as well as a Gold Star Mother.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her son, Douglas Presley McCorkle, Jr. who was killed while serving in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vietnam, and a grandchild, Shannon Renee Tessier.

She was buried at Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.

BAGWELL Herbert W. Bagwell died peacefully on February 28, 2000 at his home in Oklahoma City. Mr. Bagwell was born in Billings, Oklahoma on September 30, 1909 but lived most of his life in Oklahoma City. His wife Peggy and his son Larry preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Dena Dietsch and her husband Ron, grandchildren Mary Frances Clements and her husband Kirby, Peggy Faye Kahre and her husband Robert, Berton, William, Terry and Dena Bagwell, and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Bagwell is widely known as a Violin Professor, performer, and a visionary in Music Education. In 1929, at the age of 19, he became the Chairman of the String Instrumental Department at Oklahoma City University and held this position for 52 years. He is highly respected by his many fine students who represent him as music teachers, professional performers and symphony members throughtout the world. He was a charter member of the Oklahoma Philharmonic. He served in the South Pacific Theater as a member of a Special Service Unit during World War II. The first String Instrumental Program in the Oklahoma City School System was established, due to his vision. He organized the first annual Elementary String Instrument Concert hosted at Oklahoma City University, assisted by the OCU Orchestra. This group consisted of 500 selected students performing solos, ensembles and string orchestra music. Throughout his career he organized and presented string instrument workshops, recitals and string orchestra concerts at OCU, importing nationally known artists. He was the founder and director of a performing ensemble known as "The Gypsies". This group, consisting of strings, vocalists and dancers, performed throughout Oklahoma and across the United States. Among his honors, Mr. Bagwell was a recipient of The American String Teachers Annual Teacher of the Year Award in 1989 and also received a Recognition Award from the Oklahoma House of Representatives for his leadership in Music Education. He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994 by the Oklahoma Federation Music Clubs and was responsible for the first Oklahoma chapter of ASTA. Mr. Bagwell is well known as a connoisseur of string instruments. In 1956, he established the Inter-City Violin Studio for the sale, rental and repair of stringed instruments. He developed new and innovative techniques for marketing and instrument repair. His family continues the operation of this business. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, at the Guardian Mid-Town Funeral Home, 1133 North Robinson. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery following the service.
