Deceased Name: Carolyn Bagwell Santa Cruz, CA
A Private Committal will be held in Santa Cruz, CA in April 2013, for Carolyn Bagwell, who passed away at her daughter's Santa Cruz home on December 3, 2012.

Born in Cedartown, GA, she was 78 years old. Carolyn was raised in Cedartown and moved to Kansas with her family at age 17. She met Fred Stevens there, and the couple was married, and soon moved to Seattle. Carolyn raised her five children in the Seattle area. She and Fred divorced and she married Kirk Bagwell in 1977, who she loved so much. Carolyn and Kirk first lived in Kent, WA, moving to New York in 1988, and later to Cedartown, GA to care for her ailing mother. Kirk and Carolyn moved back to Washington and lived in Wenatchee, WA, where they managed together 'The Valley Inn' until they retired. Kirk died suddenly on January 1, 2005. Carolyn continued to live in Wenatchee until moving to Florence, OR in 2009, where she lived until August of this year, moving to Santa Cruz, CA. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, a volunteer non-academic sorority that was dedicated to numerous charity activities. Carolyn was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and worked at their thrift store located in Entiat, WA. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family as a loving mom and friend. Her beautiful crocheted blankets that she made for her children and grandchildren will forever be cherished. Carolyn was a talented gardener and left the world a bit more beautiful with the lovely flowers she grew. Her cooking is also one of the fondest memories of all, as her biscuits were amazing, and she could take a little of this and put it with that and call it dinner! She loved teaching her grandchildren how to cook foods she knew from the south and always with biscuits or cornbread.

She is survived by her son, Julian Bagwell of Seattle; and her daughters, Kimberly Lewis of Wenatchee, WA, Cindy Mullen of Santa Cruz, Kathy Costlonga, of Florence, OR and Denise Milazzo of Santa Cruz. She was preceded in death by her son, Fred "Freddie" Stevens in 1974. Carolyn also leaves her grandchildren, Rachelle McGillivray, Ana' Lottero, Steven Mullen, L.J. Mullen, Claire Milazzo and Jeremy Milazzo; and great-grandchildren, Lilly Mullen, Noah Mullen, Dillon Mullen and Ryan McGillivray. She leaves her sisters, DuAne Anderson of Bellevue, WA, Myrette Rogers of Palm Springs, CA and Nancy Brown of Cedartown, GA; and her dear cousin, whom Carolyn called her sister, Joyce Jones also of Cedartown, GA. Remembrances may be made in her name to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066. To light a candle and share your condolences, please visit
