     Elizabeth Frothingham was born on 15 February 1673 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. As of 20 January 1690,her married name was Boutwell. She married James Boutwell III, son of James Boutwell and Rebecca Kendall, on 20 January 1690 at Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Elizabeth Frothingham died in February 1754 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

As of circa 1663,her married name was Boutwell. As of 15 June 1665,her married name was Boutwell. Rebecca Kendall married James Boutwell, son of James Boutwell and Alice Lawson, on 15 June 1665. Rebecca Kendall died on 30 August 1713 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She was born in Old Burying Ground, Wakefield, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

     Alice Lawson was born circa 1621 in Salem, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, Alice Lawson, who was supposedly present [born] in Massachusetts in 1621 and, if so, was quite possibly at the first Thanksgiving. I have a hard time knowing how you can be born in Massachusetts in 1621 unless your mother was on the Mayflower. No Lawson is listed on the Mayflower passenger list, but there were some maids listed only by first name. Maybe our ancestor was a maid who was impregnated on Mayflower. Not sure that would us qualified for the Mayflower Society, if we could prove it. As of 26 January 1630,her married name was Boutwell. She married James Boutwell on 26 January 1630. (May be 1631.) As of 5 December 1666,her married name was Cowdery. Alice Lawson married William Cowdery on 5 December 1666. Alice Lawson died in 1687 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

     William Cowdery was born circa 1617 in Salem, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married Alice Lawson on 5 December 1666.

     Hannah Davis was born on 31 May 1648 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. As of 10 May 1669,her married name was Boutwell. She married James Boutwell on 10 May 1669 at Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Hannah Davis died in 1719 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

     Thomas Kendall was also known as Thomas Kendall. He was born in 1616 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He died on 22 July 1681 in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married Rebecca Paine on 22 July 1681 at Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

     Delaney Boutwell was born in 1769 in North Carolina. He was the son of Burtonhead Boutwell and Elizabeth Commander. Delaney Boutwell died in 1807.

     William Boutwell was born in 1771 in North Carolina. He was the son of Burtonhead Boutwell and Elizabeth Commander.

     John Boutwell was born in 1773 in North Carolina. He was the son of Burtonhead Boutwell and Elizabeth Commander.

     John Henry Stokes was born on 20 March 1756 in Luneburg, Lunenburg County, Virginia. He was the son of David Stokes and Sarah Montford. John Henry Stokes married Nancy Patience Alford, daughter of John Alford and Nancy Elizabeth Bibb, in 1785 at Edgecomb County, North Carolina.¹ John Henry Stokes and Nancy Patience Alford lived circa 1790 in Darlington District, South Carolina.¹ John Henry Stokes died in 1836 in Barbour County, Alabama. He was buried at Barbour County, Alabama.

     Nancy Patience Alford was also known as Nancy Patience Vickers.¹ She was born circa 1765 in Virginia. She was the daughter of John Alford and Nancy Elizabeth Bibb. Nancy Patience Alford married John Henry Stokes, son of David Stokes and Sarah Montford, in 1785 at Edgecomb County, North Carolina.¹ As of 1785,her married name was Stokes.¹ Nancy Patience Alford and John Henry Stokes lived circa 1790 in Darlington District, South Carolina.¹ Nancy Patience Alford died in 1830 in Barbour County, Alabama.

     Laura Lavinia Boswell was born on 20 April 1845.² She was the daughter of Dr. Thomas Coke Boswell and Sarah Martha Herrin.^2,1 As of 7 November 1865,her married name was Dowling.¹ Laura Lavinia Boswell married Angus Dowling, son of Noel Dowling and Sarah Delayney McDonald, on 7 November 1865 at Montgomery County, Alabama.^2,1 Laura Lavinia Boswell died on 29 April 1909 in Ozark, Dale County, Alabama, at age 64.^2,1 She was buried at Claybank Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, Alabama.¹

     Dr. Thomas Coke Boswell married Sarah Martha Herrin.¹

     H. Bascom Dowling married Caledonia "Callie" Mangill.¹ H. Bascom Dowling was born in 1869.¹ He was the son of Angus Dowling and Laura Lavinia Boswell. H. Bascom Dowling died on 14 April 1948 in Barbour County, Alabama, Deaths recorded by the State of Alabama from 1908 to 1959 - Volume 14, Certificate #: 6899, Role 5.¹ He was buried at Claybank Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, Alabama.¹

     Hattie Dowling was born on 27 November 1871.¹ She was the daughter of Angus Dowling and Laura Lavinia Boswell. Hattie Dowling died on 4 October 1873 at age 1.¹ She was buried circa 5 October 1873 at Claybank Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, Alabama.¹

     Her married name was Dowling. Caledonia "Callie" Mangill married H. Bascom Dowling, son of Angus Dowling and Laura Lavinia Boswell.¹

     Laura V. Dowling was born on 5 January 1902.¹ She was the daughter of H. Bascom Dowling and Caledonia "Callie" Mangill.¹ Laura V. Dowling died on 22 February 1902.¹ She was buried circa 23 February 1902 at Claybank Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, Alabama.¹

     Colonel Jasper Dowling was born circa 1838 in Dale County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Wesley Dowling and Amanda E. O'Neal.^1,2 Enlisted in the 33rd Regiment, Alabama Infantry.¹ Colonel Jasper Dowling died in June 1862 It is thought that Martin R. and Jasper Dowling died in the same battle.¹

     Martin Van Buren Dowling was born circa 1841 in Dale County, Alabama.² He was the son of Wesley Dowling and Amanda E. O'Neal.^2,1 Enlisted in the 33rd Regiment, Alabama Infantry.² Martin Van Buren Dowling died on 8 June 1862 in West Point, Mississippi, Died during the Civil War.

A letter written by Needham Hughes " I certify that the within named Martin R. Dowling, a private in Captain Needham Hughes Company, born in Dale Co. AL. Age 20 yrs. five feet eight inches high, light complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer, was enlisted by Samual Adams at Greenville, Alabama, on the 14th day of March 1862, to serve three years or the war and died the 8th day of June, 1862 at West Point, Miss. The said Dowling had never Rec'd any pay and is entitled to pay from the 14th day of Mar. to the 8th day of June, 1862."
