     James Engram was born in 1744. He married an unknown person . He immigrated (sailed) in 1764 from Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland, to Georgia via Barbados.^1,2 Source:Paper by Captain Robert C. Engram to Majorie Bagwell Titled "Engram" Quoting from the paper: In 1764, he joined the colonistat Kingsale Ireland and came to Barbadoes thence Savannah, that being the nearest port to Ireland - and finally settled in Georgia. James Engram settled in what is now Houston County, Georgia and bought large tracts of land. There is no record as to whom James Engram married since Houston County was not organized into a county until the year 1821. However, he reared a family, and the only record of a child is a son - Edward Engram, who from a family bible of his own gives Februrary 15th, 1784, as the date of his birth. He lived in Houston County, Georgia.

     Edward Engram was born on 15 February 1784. He was the son of James Engram. Immigrated from France to America in the latter part of the 18th century. He came ot Pennsylvannia and then to Georgia.¹ Edward Engram married Elizabeth Kanady in 1804 at Lenoir, North Carolina. Edward Engram died on 17 November 1843 in Houston County, Georgia, at age 59.¹

     Robert R. Engram was born on 20 December 1804 in North Carolina. He was the son of Edward Engram and Elizabeth Kanady. Robert R. Engram married Lucretia (?) before 1837.

     James Engram was born on 3 January 1806. He was the son of Edward Engram and Elizabeth Kanady. James Engram died on 6 September 1878 in Clairborne Parish, Louisiana, at age 72.

     John "Jack" Engram was born on 3 November 1807 in Houston County, Georgia.² He was the son of Edward Engram and Elizabeth Kanady. John "Jack" Engram married Mary Jane Barker on 15 November 1832 at Houston County, Georgia. John "Jack" Engram died on 4 November 1868 in Dale County, Alabama, at age 61.^1,2 He was buried at Ebenezer Cemetery, Dale County, Alabama.^1,2

     Mary Jane Barker was born in 1819 in Georgia. She married John "Jack" Engram, son of Edward Engram and Elizabeth Kanady, on 15 November 1832 at Houston County, Georgia. As of 15 November 1832,her married name was Engram. Mary Jane Barker died in 1895 in Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama.

     Edward Carlton Engram was born on 7 September 1835 in Georgia.² He was the son of John "Jack" Engram and Mary Jane Barker. Edward Carlton Engram married Mary Jane Cameron on 22 July 1858.^2,3 Entered as private on 1862 at Greenville, Alabama in the 37th Ala Inf Co C continued until captured at Vicksburg Miss July 4 1863.² Re-enlisted as private Aug 4 1863 Demopolis Ala in the 37th Ala Inf Co C continued until paroled at Greensboro N C April 28 1865. Edward Carlton Engram died on 13 November 1912 in Leon, Crenshaw County, Alabama, at age 77.² He was buried at Camerons Chapel, Crenshaw County, Alabama.²

     Mary Jane Cameron was born on 24 February 1842.² She married Edward Carlton Engram, son of John "Jack" Engram and Mary Jane Barker, on 22 July 1858.^3,2 As of 22 July 1858,her married name was Engram. Mary Jane Cameron died in 1910.² She was buried at Camerons Chapel, Crenshaw County, Alabama.²

     Benjamin Hugh Engram was born in December 1861 in Brantley, Alabama. He was the son of Edward Carlton Engram and Mary Jane Cameron. Benjamin Hugh Engram died in January 1929 in Troy, Pike County, Alabama, at age 67. He was buried at Cameron Chapel, Crenshaw County, Alabama.

     James Alexander Engram was born on 30 March 1872. He was the son of Edward Carlton Engram and Mary Jane Cameron. James Alexander Engram married Margaret J. (?) before 1915. James Alexander Engram died on 19 April 1930 in Pike County, Alabama, at age 58. He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, Pike County, Alabama.

     Mary Tabitha Engram was born on 14 December 1861 in Covington County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Edward Carlton Engram and Mary Jane Cameron. Mary Tabitha Engram married George Marion Nichols on 21 December 1884 at Crenshaw County, Alabama. Mary Tabitha Engram died on 30 December 1902 in Brantley, Crenshaw County, Alabama, at age 41. She was buried at Cameron's Chapel Cemetery, Crenshaw County, Alabama.

     Lula Engram was born in March 1867 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Edward Carlton Engram and Mary Jane Cameron.

     Alice Cordelia Engram was born on 28 December 1876 in Covington County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Edward Carlton Engram and Mary Jane Cameron. Alice Cordelia Engram married Alfred Clark Moore on 15 July 1897 at Covington County, Alabama. Alice Cordelia Engram died on 24 May 1965 in Luverne, Crenshaw County, Alabama, at age 88. She was buried at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Crenshaw County, Alabama.

     Eddie E. Engram was born in February 1880 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Edward Carlton Engram and Mary Jane Cameron.

Henry Hugh Engram married Maude Powell after 1900. Henry Hugh Engram and Maude Powell lived in 1918 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. Henry Hugh Engram and Maude Powell lived in 1920 in Orlando City, Florida. Henry Hugh Engram died in 1943. He was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, Orange County, Florida.

     Martha Ann Engram was born on 25 February 1838 in Georgia. She was the daughter of John "Jack" Engram and Mary Jane Barker. As of after 1950,her married name was Renfroe. Martha Ann Engram married W. W. Renfroe after 1950.

     W. W. Renfroe married Martha Ann Engram, daughter of John "Jack" Engram and Mary Jane Barker, after 1950.

Eugenia Texia Engram married Reverend Nehmiah Thomas Watson on 15 May 1868 at Haw Ridge, Coffee County, Alabama. Eugenia Texia Engram died on 9 July 1904 in Shelby County, Texas, at age 53.² She was buried at Spring Ridge Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas.²

     Reverend Nehmiah Thomas Watson was also known as Nehemiah Watson. He was born on 6 February 1849. He married Eugenia Texia Engram, daughter of John "Jack" Engram and Mary Jane Barker, on 15 May 1868 at Haw Ridge, Coffee County, Alabama. Reverend Nehmiah Thomas Watson died on 14 August 1928 at age 79. He was buried at Spring Ridge Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas.

     Oliver Kanady Engram was also known as Oliver Cromwell Engram. He was born on 18 October 1812 in North Carolina.¹ He was the son of Edward Engram and Elizabeth Kanady. Oliver Kanady Engram married Mariah Louise Dennard circa 1829. Oliver Kanady Engram lived in 1840 in Barbour County, Alabama. He died in 1857.

pension in Barbour County. John Edward Engram died on 4 December 1916 in Barbour County, Alabama, at age 70.
