     Michael Joseph Goff was born on 30 April 1903 in Alabama. He was the son of William Lawrence Goff and Louise Estelle Doody. Michael Joseph Goff married Martha Ellen Mitchell after 1928. Michael Joseph Goff died on 20 June 1966 at age 63. He was buried at Catholic Cemetery, Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.

     Martha Ellen Mitchell was born on 20 June 1910. As of after 1928,her married name was Goff. She married Michael Joseph Goff, son of William Lawrence Goff and Louise Estelle Doody, after 1928. Martha Ellen Mitchell died on 17 February 1987 at age 76.

     Susan M. Held married Kenneth Dale Bagwell, son of Luther Wardell Bagwell and Geneva Wilson, on 4 July 1981 at Russellville, Kentucky. Susan M. Held and Kenneth Dale Bagwell were divorced on 2 September 1986 at Logan County, Kentucky.

     Bethany Nicole Bagwell was born on 16 July 1985 in Warren County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Kenneth Dale Bagwell and Susan M. Held. Bethany Nicole Bagwell died on 10 November 2023 in Somset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, at age 38

Bethany Nicole Bagwell age 38, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at her home.

Bethany was born on July 16, 1985 to Susan M. Held Garrett and Kenneth Bagwell in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a proud mother, a loyal friend to everyone, an animal lover and enjoyed reading. She enjoyed the water park and swimming. She attended Western Kentucky University for 3 years.

Bethany was preceded in death by her grandmother, Stella Clara Stancil Held, grandparents Luther and Geneva Bagwell, step-grandparents, Carl and Wanda Garrett and aunt, Vicki Susan Bagwell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents, Susan Garrett (Rudy) of Somerset, Ky; Kenneth Bagwell (Natalie) of Franklin, Ky; son Zachary Martin Reynolds, daughter Brianna Nicole Reynolds, grandfather Dr. Richard Held of Somerset, Ky; sister Andrea Renee Smith (Mike) of Somerset, Ky; stepsister Jill Buckley of Simpsonville, SC; stepbrother Shawn Killen of Franklin, Ky; uncle, Rick Held (Michelle) of Sarasota, FL; aunt Sharon Howard (Scott) of Lexington, Ky; aunt Pamela Held of Somerset, Ky; niece Garrah Paige Vanover of Somerset, Ky; great-aunt Della Stancil Rose of Rockledge, FL; along with numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 12pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 3pm with Bro. Chris Jasper and Bro. Danny Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her children’s fund for their benefit.

Dorothy Ellen Goff married Elvin Howard Taylor on 10 June 1949 at Mobile County, Alabama. Dorothy Ellen Goff died on 2 March 1956 in Mobile County, Alabama, at age 24.      Elvin Howard Taylor was born on 17 June 1927 in Florida. He married Dorothy Ellen Goff, daughter of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell, on 10 June 1949 at Mobile County, Alabama. Elvin Howard Taylor died on 26 October 2004 at age 77. He was buried at Catholic Cemetery, Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.

     Mary Margaret Goff was born on 21 September 1926 in Mobile County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell. Mary Margaret Goff died on 30 March 2011 in Mobile County, Alabama, at age 84

Miss Mary Margaret "Peggy" Goff - a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in a local health care facility. Miss Goff was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was a 1944 graduate of Bishop Toolen High School and graduated from Webster College in St. Louis, MO in 1948. She earned her teaching certification from the University of Alabama and her Master's in Education from the University of South Alabama. Miss Goff retired from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School after 46 years of service having served as teacher, coach, assistant principal, and counselor. She was inducted into the McGill-Toolen Hall of Fame in 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Joseph and Martha Ellen Mitchell Goff; two brothers, Michael Joseph Goff, Jr. and Lawrence Vincent Goff, Sr; and two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Catherine Louise Johnson. Miss Goff is survived by her brothers and sisters, William Edward "Billy" Goff, Sr., Thomas Alphonse "Tommy" (Lois) Goff, Sr., Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Richard) Wampler, Martha Patricia "Pat" (John) Wilcox, Agnes Rosalie (Phil) Hrabar, Judith Elaine (Michael) Courtney, Charles Richard (Martha) Goff, Sr., Joan Cecelia (E.T.) Rolison, Marilyn Theresa (Ellis) Courtney, and Mitchell James "Mickey" (Diane) Goff, Sr; her dearest friend, Melgwin Miller; one sister-in-law, Jane Goff; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Miss Goff's family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Cogburn Health Care, especially Nurse Sharon, for the loving care which they showed to Peggy. Catherine Louise Goff married James Henry Johnson in 1956. Catherine Louise Goff died on 28 June 2008 at age 74. She was buried at Resurrection Cemetery, Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.

     James Henry Johnson was born on 2 April 1932 in Box Butte County, Nebraska. He married Catherine Louise Goff, daughter of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell, in 1956. James Henry Johnson died on 25 December 2021 at age 89

Jim Johnson was born on April 2, 1932 in Alliance, Nebraska to Bernice (Mitera) and Henry Johnson. He was the oldest of three children and the only son. Initially, the family lived in Bridgeport, Nebraska, but after moving to Omaha he attended Holy Name School where he played football and basketball. After high school, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was trained as a helicopter mechanic and served aboard the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier throughout the Caribbean. While Jim was stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station, Florida, he met his future wife, Kitty (Catherine) Goff, of Mobile, Alabama.

After their wedding in 1956, the couple moved to Omaha where Jim started and successfully operated an appliance repair business for over 50 years. They raised four children spending the first 20 years in Omaha before moving to Yutan, Nebraska in 1976 living in a custom home built by Jim. He was mechanically inclined and a self-taught craftsman. He was able to visualize solutions and solve problems while building the family home.

Jim had many interests throughout his long life including playing pool, ping pong, bowling, playing softball on the St Richards men's team and playing card games, especially cribbage. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, starting out in a tent, followed by a 5th wheel trailer, and ending up in a 40ft RV motor home. His biggest passion throughout his adult life was watching college and pro football games. He was an avid Cornhusker football fan, and his passion was intensified by Kitty's equal devotion to the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Every August he was optimistic that the Huskers would have another championship season. In his later years, Jim was an avid reader; his favorite genres were westerns, mysteries and espionage novels. He spent the last 14 years solving many Sudoku puzzles, even mastering the very difficult multi-boxed ones.

Jim enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean before buying his RV. After Kitty passed away in 2008, Jim became a snowbird, spending his winters in Mesa, AZ in the RV driving ALL the back roads during his annual migrations in the fall and spring. He enjoyed many historical and geographical places that each state had to offer along the way.

Jim was quite the foodie, dining at many fine eateries in Omaha and Mesa. He enjoyed exploring new restaurants as well as returning to his favorites during his migrations. He will be missed by many waitresses throughout the country.

Lawrence Vincent Goff married Jane Buck in September 1967 at Mobile County, Alabama. Lawrence Vincent Goff died on 5 April 1987 at age 45.      Jane Buck married Lawrence Vincent Goff, son of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell, in September 1967 at Mobile County, Alabama.

     Patrick Leslie Goff was born on 10 March 1976 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama. He was the son of Lawrence Vincent Goff and Jane Buck. Patrick Leslie Goff married Angela Maurin after 1995. Patrick Leslie Goff died on 20 July 2014 in Daphne, Baldwin County, Alabama, at age 38

Patrick Leslie Goff died July 20, 2014 at his home in Daphne, AL after a 2 year shootout with cancer. Patrick was devoted to his Catholic Faith and his family. He attended St. Pius X Elementary School, McGill-Toolen Catholic High School and received his Bachelor of Science from Spring Hill College. He was employed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences as the Assistant Section Chief of Biology. Patrick worked closely with the District Attorneys' offices in many south Alabama counties processing evidence obtained from crime scenes and testifying as an expert witness. He grew up loving Mardi Gras and was a legacy member of a Mobile Society. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, watching and attending at every opportunity. In his young adult life, he was very active refereeing CYO basketball and playing softball. He began playing club soccer in college as a member of the local football club "Clang" continuing through his adult life. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Vincent Goff Sr. He is survived by his wife, his children, his mother, brothers, sister and extended family consisting of numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and life-long friends.

     Thomas Alphonse Goff was born on 2 December 1936. He was the son of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell. Thomas Alphonse Goff married Virginia Faye (?) in July 1958 at Mobile County, Alabama. Thomas Alphonse Goff married Lois S after 1959. Thomas Alphonse Goff died on 6 July 2016 at age 79. He was buried at Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.

     Virginia Faye (?) was born on 27 January 1941 in Grove Hill, Clarke County, Alabama. As of July 1958,her married name was Goff. She married Thomas Alphonse Goff, son of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell, in July 1958 at Mobile County, Alabama. Virginia Faye (?) died on 9 October 2003 in Thomasville, Clarke County, Alabama, at age 62.

     Lois S married Thomas Alphonse Goff, son of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell, after 1959.

     William Edward Goff was born on 23 February 1930 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama. He was the son of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell. William Edward Goff died on 15 December 2022 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at age 92. He was buried at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Tillmans Corner, Mobile County, Alabama.

     Elizabeth Ann Goff was born on 17 May 1939 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell. As of after 1967,her married name was Wampler. Elizabeth Ann Goff married Richard Eugene Wampler after 1967. Elizabeth Ann Goff died on 18 May 2023 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at age 84


Elizabeth “Betty” Goff Wampler – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Thursday, May 18, 2023 in a local health care facility. Betty was employed with the University of South Alabama Bookstore for 10 years and retired from the Visitation Monastery Gift Shop after 20 years of service.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Wampler; her parents, Michael Joseph and Martha Ellen Mitchell Goff; five brothers, Michael Joseph Goff, Jr., Lawrence Vincent Goff, Sr., William Edward “Billy” Goff, Sr., Thomas Alphonse “Tommy” Goff, Sr., and Charles Richard Goff, Sr; and four sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Mary Margaret “Peggy” Goff, Judith Elaine Courtney, and Catherine Louise Johnson.

Betty is survived by seven children, Charles Michael (Lisa) Richardson, William Lawrence Richardson, Steven James Richardson, Mark Anthony (Alison) Richardson, David Allen Richardson, Darryl Eugene Richardson, and Ellen Marie (James Lynn) Turner; four sisters, Martha Patricia “Pat” (John) Wilcox, Agnes Rosalie Hrabar, Joan Cecelia (E.T.) Rolison, and Marilyn Theresa “Terri” (Ellis) Courtney; one brother, Mitchell James (Diane) Goff; two sisters-in-law, Martha Goff and Jane Goff; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday at the Church with Reverend Monsignor James Kee, J.V. as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visitation Monastery, 2300 Springhill Avenue, Mobile, Alabama 36607. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

     Martha P. Goff was born on 24 September 1942 in Mobile County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell. Martha P. Goff died on 6 September 2004 at age 61. She was buried at Spring Hill Memorial Gardens, Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.

     Agnes Rosaline Goff is the daughter of Michael Joseph Goff and Martha Ellen Mitchell. Agnes Rosaline Goff married (?) Hrabar after 1963.
