     Liuet Frederic James Goff was born on 21 May 1921 in Wisconsin. He was the son of Major Frederic James Goff and Anna Nelson. US Marine Corps, 1st LT, Purple Heart, WW II. Liuet Frederic James Goff married Elaine Luloff in 1945. Liuet Frederic James Goff died on 29 April 1998 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, at age 76. He was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin; US Marine Corps, 1st LT, Purple Heart, WW II.

     Elaine Luloff was born on 28 October 1921. As of 1945,her married name was Goff. She married Liuet Frederic James Goff, son of Major Frederic James Goff and Anna Nelson, in 1945. Elaine Luloff died on 10 May 2001 at age 79. She was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monoma, Dane County, Wisconsin.

     Lieut Wallace Edward Goff was born on 24 June 1925. He was the son of Major Frederic James Goff and Anna Nelson. Lieut Wallace Edward Goff married Virginia Wandalene Halder after 1942. Lieut Wallace Edward Goff died on 22 August 1950 at age 25

After High School, Wallace Goff enlisted in the Navy, and served 3 1/2 years, as a gunners' mate during World War II.

After the war, Wallace attended college at the UW-Madison, and also worked in the city's finance office.

In January of 1949, Wallace was sent to Korea with the 25th Infantry. He was the first Madisonian to be killed during the conflict.

City Man, W. E. Goff,Killed in Korean War

The death of the first Madison resident to be killed in action in the Korean war was reported Thursday night by the defense department.

Lieut. Wallace Edward Goff, 25, 192 Ryan st., son of Maj and Mrs. Frederic J. Goff, 118 S. First st, was killed Aug. 22 according to a telegram received here by hia parents.

Attended East High Lieut. Goff was bom in Madison, attended East high school, and was graduated from Jerseyville high school, Jerseyville, Ill., in June, 1942. He attended the University of Wisconsin and was employed in the Madison city finance office. He served in the navy for three and a half years during World War II as a gunner's mate, second class and received a commission in the army in January, 1949.

Sent to Korea after four months at Ft. Bennlng, Ga., he was transferred to the Far Eastern command and sent to Korea soon after fighting began.

His wife, the former Virginia Halder, and bis 2-year-old son, Williarn Wallace, joined him in JapaIn June and still live there.Lieut. Goff is survived beside his parents, wife, and son; by two brothers, Frederic J., Jr., member of the Madison marine reserve unit recently alerted, and Richard Nelson Goff, Madison, recently discharged from the army.

Graveside services for -Lieut. Wallace E. Goff, 25, son of Maj. and Mrs. Frederic J. Goff, 2617 Commercial ave., who was killed in action in Korea, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at Forest Hill cemetery, the Rev. A. H. Lambright officiating.

Military rites will be conducted by the Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) unit. Lieut Goff was the first Madison resident to be killed in action in the Korean war and was the first of Madison's war dead .to be returned. A member of the 35th regiment, 25th infantry, division Lieut. Goff was killed Aug. 22, 1950, at Honan.

He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action.

A native of Madison, Lieut. Goff attended East high school-and was graduated from Jerseyville, Ill., high school in June, 1942. He attended the University of Wisconsin and was employed in the city finance office.

During World War II he served 3 1/2 years as a gunner's mate, second class, in the Navy. He received an army commission in January 1949.

His wife is the former Virginia Haider of Madison, In addition to his wife and parents, Lieut. Goff is survived by a son, William W. 3, and two brothers, Frederic J. Jr., and Richard N. Goff.

The body is expected to arrive at the Gunderson funeral home by noon Friday.

Virginia Wandalene Halder died on 3 September 2007 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, at age 83. She was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin.

     William Goff was born on 4 March 1948. He was the son of Lieut Wallace Edward Goff and Virginia Wandalene Halder. William Goff died on 4 May 2010 at age 62. He was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin.

     Richard N. Goff was born on 3 October 1928. He was the son of Major Frederic James Goff and Anna Nelson. Richard N. Goff died on 28 January 2004 at age 75. He was buried at Plainfield Township Cemetery, Plainfield, Will County, Illinois.

     Norman Joseph Goff was born on 7 January 1947 in Eccles, West Virginia. He was the son of Daniel Jospeh Goff and Eva Marie Buchanan. Norman Joseph Goff married Carol Jean Miller on 4 February 1972 at Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana. Norman Joseph Goff died on 8 November 2023 at age 76

Norman “Norm” J. Goff, 76, Goshen, died 8:42 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Majestic Care of Goshen. He was born June 7, 1947, in Eccles, West Virginia, to Daniel J. Goff & Eva Marie (Buchanan) Compton. In 1972, he married Carol (Miller) Goff.
Surviving are his wife, Carol, Goshen, children, Michael Allen Goff, Goshen, Christopher Norman Goff, Bristol, step-granddaughter, Alison Yoder, New York, sister, Rachel (JW) O’Quinn, South Carolina and a step-brother, Paul (Beverly) Compton, Ohio.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brother, David Goff and step-father, Melvin Compton.
Norm served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He worked at T & M Rubber as a machine operator. Norm was a member of the Goshen Church of God and enjoyed going to church and out to eat. He liked listening to music; doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2023, with the funeral following at 5 p.m. all at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Pastor Pete Ramie will officiate. Burial will be at Little Pine Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Goshen Church of God.

     Daniel Jospeh Goff was born on 8 June 1916 in Saltville, Washington County, Virginia. He was the son of John Alexander Goff. Daniel Jospeh Goff married Eva Marie Buchanan on 24 June 1940 at Abingdon, Virginia. Daniel Jospeh Goff died on 28 December 1985 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, at age 69. He was buried at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Shelby County, Ohio.

     David Haines Goff was born on 2 June 1941 in Virginia. He was the son of Daniel Jospeh Goff and Eva Marie Buchanan. David Haines Goff married Ruth Ann Fahnestock on 8 October 1960 at Logan County, Ohio. David Haines Goff died on 6 August 2022 at age 81. He was buried at Westminster Cemetery, Westminster, Allen County, Ohio.

     Rachel M. Goff is the daughter of Daniel Jospeh Goff and Eva Marie Buchanan.

     John Alexander Goff was born on 3 April 1868 in Virginia. He was the son of Lafeyette M. Goff and Permelia Ann Moore. John Alexander Goff married Nancy Parthena Dinsmore after 1894. John Alexander Goff died on 14 March 1953 in Saltville, Washington County, Virginia, at age 84. He was buried on 16 March 1953 at Family Cemetery, Saltville, Washington County, Virginia.
