1843 Estate records in Anderson Co., S.C. Polly petitioned to sell her land, naming her 4 children, 3 girls and son Matthew Warren Bagwell, Jr. Polly had remarried at this time to Thomas Massey. She died 15 Aug 1894 at the home of her daughter, Nancy Massey Slaughter in Worth Co., GA.

1850 Anderson Co., S.C. census listed these 4 children in the household of their grandfather, John Bagwell, age 90. John died in 1855 and is buried at Sweetwater Baptist Church, Duluth, Gwinnett Co., Ga.

The obituary of Matthew Bagwell, Jr, states that he was raised by his grandfather, John Daniel Bagwell. Matthew is buried at Sweetwater Baptist Church, Gwinnett Co., Ga.

Sold in 1915 to the Christian Church and became SOUTHEASTERN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE until 1924. Sold to Barrow County in 1928 and Administrative Building became Auburn-Consolidated School. Building was torn down in 1958. Only girls dormitory remains owned by R & R Manufacturing Co. Reverend Hiram Nixon Rainey died in 1918. He was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Winder, Barrow County, Georgia.
