Born Aug. 13, 1912, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Melvin and Estee Bagwell.

She was a former employee of Indiana University and Bloomington Hospital. She was a member of Sanders Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Sturgeon, Virginia Steffler and Darlene Clark, all of Bloomington; four sons, Eugene Wampler, William Wampler, John Wampler and Michael Wampler, all of Bloomington; two sisters, Dorothy Clemens of Glendale, Ariz., and Ruth Mills of Bedford; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Wampler, in 1987; one daughter, Crystal Wampler; one son, Harold Wampler; one sister and three brothers.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Friends may call 2-9 p.m. today and from noon until services Thursday at the funeral home.
