He was formerly employed with Ina Bearing Company and attended Davis Memorial Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, a member of Bass Masters, an umpire for Spartanburg Parks and Recreation, and was a loving husband, father, grand- and great-grandfather.

A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Calvin Tate Bagwell, 68, of 1162 Double Branch Road, Cowpens, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at home. Born July 31, 1935, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Parker George Bagwell and Myrtle Clark Bagwell.
Mr. Bagwell umpired little league baseball and softball games for Spartanburg County for many years. He also was a volunteer with the Una Fire Department.
He retired from Tietex Corporation and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Bagwell was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Louise (Bunny) Owens Bagwell, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward (Eddie) and Christie Martin Bagwell, of Biscoe, NC; two brothers, Ira Bagwell and George Bagwell; one sister, Eugenia
Bagwell Sudduth, of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Norris Lamar (Buck) Bagwell and two sisters, Inez Bagwell and Sara Bagwell Seay.
Graveside services will be held at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs on Monday, April 26, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
The family is at the home, 1162 Double Branch Road, Cowpens.
