     Reverend Dr. Paul Randolph Kowalski was born on 20 June 1934. He married Mary Frances Bagwell, daughter of Frederick Bagwell and Ida Marie Wilson, on 9 August 1958. Reverend Dr. Paul Randolph Kowalski died on 23 March 2018 at age 83


PIEDMONT—Paul Randolph Kowalski (Randy) of Piedmont, S.C. entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 23, 2018. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Frances Bagwell Kowalski; two children: Kelly Kowalski King (Jeff) of Cornelius, N.C; Robin Kowalski of Piedmont, S.C; four grandchildren: Sarah Bagwell King, Caroline Randolph King, Noah Francis Britt, and Jordan Randolph Britt.

A native of Anderson, S.C., Dr. Kowalski received his B.S. degree from Clemson University, his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Divinity degree from Presbyterian College.

His love for God and deep faith in Jesus Christ influenced every area of Dr. Kowalski’s life and work. Upon finishing seminary, his first pastorate was at the Pendleton Presbyterian Church in Pendleton, S.C. from 1958 to 1962. He then ministered to the people of the Abbeville Presbyterian Church in Abbeville, S.C. from 1962 until 1967. In 1967, he became the senior pastor at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA. where he served for seven years. He spent the last 30 years of his career as the senior minister at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, S.C. from 1974 until 2004 when he retired.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kowalski provided counsel and advice to many organizations, committees, and partnerships. He was a trustee of the Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and a former Director at Columbia Theological Seminary, where he served on the Pastor Advisory Board. He was a member of the Board of Visitors at both Presbyterian Home of South Carolina and Presbyterian College, where he was also on the Board of Trustees. Dr. Kowalski served on the General Assembly Committee on Theological Education, the Board of Directors at Christ Church Episcopal School, the Advisory Council at Montreat-Anderson College, the Advisory Board at Furman University, the Board of Directors at the Metropolitan YMCA (where he was the Board Member of the Year in 1998), and the Synod of the South Atlantic Council. Dr. Kowalski was also a Trustee of the Outreach Foundation, serving as Vice-Chairman and Chairman in 1991 and 1993, respectively. In 1987, Dr. Kowalski was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow, following his active involvement in the Rotary Club including serving as President in Augusta and Greenville. Because of his allegiance to his alma mater, Kowalski was happy to be recognized as an outstanding graduate of Clemson University in 1988. Upon his retirement from First Presbyterian Church, he received the Order of the Palmetto, the highest civilian honor in S.C.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 26, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Easley, S.C., with burial in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, S.C.

     Lori Lee Williams married John Frederick Bagwell, son of William Howard Bagwell and Dr. Joyce Marie Burris, on 26 June 1999 at First Baptist Church, Charleston, South Carolina.

     Lewis Bagwell is the son of Luther Josephus Bagwell and Hattie Vera Allbright.

     Marie Bagwell is the daughter of Luther Josephus Bagwell and Hattie Vera Allbright.

     Patsy Bagwell is the daughter of Luther Josephus Bagwell and Hattie Vera Allbright.

     Joyce Wells married Richard Alvis Bagwell, son of Luther Josephus Bagwell and Hattie Vera Allbright, on 2 July 1964 at Maricopa County, Arizona.

     Richard Lee Bagwell was born on 7 September 1882 in Arkansas. He married Rebecca Spears before 1912. Richard Lee Bagwell died on 15 September 1937 in Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas, at age 55. He was buried at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas.

     Rebecca Spears was born on 10 October 1870 in Tennessee. As of before 1912,her married name was Bagwell. She married Richard Lee Bagwell before 1912. Rebecca Spears died on 7 June 1956 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, at age 85. She was buried at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas.

     Mary Lee Bagwell was born on 28 September 1912 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas. She was the daughter of Richard Lee Bagwell and Rebecca Spears. As of before 1931,her married name was Jacobs. Mary Lee Bagwell married (?) Jacobs before 1931. Mary Lee Bagwell died on 15 July 1989 in Texas at age 76. She was buried at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas.

     Walter Andrew Bagwell was born in 1907 in Texas. He was the son of Richard Lee Bagwell and Rebecca Spears. Walter Andrew Bagwell died in 1976. He was buried at Rosewood Funeral Home and Cemetery, Humble, Harris County, Texas.

     Christine Hibbard married Jeffrey Todd Bagwell, son of Verdell Marion Bagwell Jr. and Sandra Lee (?), on 20 May 1988 at Montgomery County, Texas.

     William Clinton Bagwill was also known as Clinton William Bagwill. He was born in 1875. He was born on 14 October 1875 in La Salle County, Illinois. He was the son of Francis "Frank" Bagwell and Emily Vermett. William Clinton Bagwill married Stella Jane Williams on 22 September 1898 at Nesho, Newton County, Missouri. William Clinton Bagwill died on 10 October 1932 in East Ely, White Pine, Nevada, at age 56. He was buried at Sunset View Cemetery, El Cerrito, Contra Costa County, California.

     Stella Jane Williams was born in 1876. As of 22 September 1898,her married name was Bagwill. She married William Clinton Bagwill, son of Francis "Frank" Bagwell and Emily Vermett, on 22 September 1898 at Nesho, Newton County, Missouri. Stella Jane Williams died in 1967. She was buried at Sunset View Cemetery, El Cerrito, Contra Costa County, California.

     Francis Helen Bagwill is the daughter of William Clinton Bagwill and Stella Jane Williams.

     John Williams Bagwill was born on 11 July 1901 in Nebraska. He was the son of William Clinton Bagwill and Stella Jane Williams. John Williams Bagwill married Amy Murdog on 8 June 1929 at Seattle, King County, Washington. John Williams Bagwill died on 4 March 1993 at age 91.
