Amanda Lucille Bagwell died on 16 June 2016 in Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina, at age 87

Amanda Lucille Bagwell Hintson, 87, of Easley, wife to Clifford F. Hintson Sr., received her wings. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.

She departed on her flight at 2:00PM and ascended peacefully as her husband ended a prayer to God for her and she was escorted by a host of Angels to be with her family who were waiting for her with open arms.

Born in Greenville County to the late Eddie L. and Annie Worley Bagwell.

She was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Easley for 10 years. She love people and animals. Amanda and her husband owned and operated Amanda's Bird Center for 30 years before retiring in 1998.

In addition to her parents, Amanda was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph D. Bagwell and sister, Frances Haley.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 63 years; son, Cliff Hintson Jr. (Maryanne) of Easley; grandson, Jamie Hintson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.

On March 9, 2019 Clifford "Cliff" Frederick Hintson, Sr. peacefully passed from this earthly realm to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, following several months of declining health.

Mr. Hintson was born in 1932 in Alabama to Leonard Curtis and Marguerite Hopkins. He was married for 68 years to Amanda Lucille Bagwell Hintson who predeceased him on June 16, 2016. In 1954, he graduated at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville, SC as a letter carrier. He was also the president of the National Association of Letter Carriers during his postal employment. He and his late wife Amanda ran a business called "Amanda's Bird Center" in Greenville at their home on the Poinsett Highway for a total of 30 years. They sold many varieties of exotic birds and raised the babies by hand until they were old enough to be purchased. They were well known in the Greenville area for this business as they always had quality birds for purchase. He loved to work in his yard at his house and loved to plant all types of flowers and watch them bloom. He was always getting compliments on his talents for having a beautiful lawn.

Cliff was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church in Easley and a former member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Easley. He was also a member of the Jim Chapman Memorial Class and Moving Forward, a group sponsored by the Robinson Funeral Home for widows and widowers.

Cliff is survived by a son, Clifford Frederick Hintson, Jr. (Maryanne) of Easley, grandson, James Patrick Hintson of Washington, DC, and a special friend and devoted companion, Nancy Harrison. He was predeceased by his wife Amanda Bagwell Hintson, an infant son, 1 brother and 1 sister.

A Memorial Service and visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 2:00pm at Jones Avenue Baptist Church. The family asks that any memorials be made to Jones Avenue and noted for the Retire the Debt Fund. Or to any charity of your choice.
