Kenneth Harbin Bagwell, 88, of Greenville, died Wednesday Jan. 4, 2006, at the home of his son in Prosperity, S.C.

A native of Belton, he was the son of the late James Fred and Myrtie Brown Bagwell. Mr. Bagwell retired from the U.S. Navy after serving two terms in Vietnam and 22 years of service. He later worked at Her Majesty in Mauldin and the State Farmers Market in Greenville. He was a member of the Sam Poe Lodge No. 284, the Shriners and the Scottish Rite and was a Baptist.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Pearson Bagwell, of the home; a son, Clarence P. "Buddy" Bagwell and his wife, Carolyn E. Campbell Bagwell, of Prosperity; two sisters, Lalar Estele Bagwell-Mayfield and her husband, Walter, of Greenwood and Mary Etta Bowman of Anderson; two grandchildren, Jan Lynn Bagwell of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Sandra Elaine Burnham and her husband, Mark, of Gastonia, N.C; and a great-grandchild, Megan Burnham of Gastonia.

Graveside services will be held in Old Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson, conducted by the Rev. Marshall Sargent.1

Keith Lenhardt Bagwell, 78, of 305 Shiloh Rd., husband of Jo Lynn Reid Bagwell, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Hospice of the Upstate.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Thomas Wilton and Eunice Trotter Bagwell. He was retired from Monsanto Corporation, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, past President of Saluda Valley Country Club, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife of the home; daughter, Karen Bagwell Thomason and husband, Joe, of Easley; son, Michael Keith Bagwell and wife, Kim, of Piedmont; sister, Carolyn Garrett of Piedmont; brothers, Jack Bagwell of Piedmont and Fred Bagwell of Cartersville, Ga; five grandchildren, Jake and Josh Thomason, Reid, Kalley, and Angel Bagwell.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Dr. David Brown and Rev. Bob Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


He was buried at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina.

Fred Wilton Bagwell died on 4 May 2010 in Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia, at age 77 Fred Wilton Bagwell, 77, formerly of Piedmont, passed away May 4, 2010, at Cartersville Heights Nursing Home in Cartersville, GA. Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Thomas Wilton and Eunice Trotter Bagwell. He was retired from J.P. Stevens Estes Plant, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Dawn Bagwell Shams, and husband, Nadim of Acworth, GA; sister, Carolyn Garrett of Piedmont; brother, Jack Bagwell of Piedmont; grandson, Zak Shams. He was predeceased by brothers, J.T. and Keith Bagwell; sisters, Helen Wilson and Sue Reid. The family is at the home of Carolyn Garrett, 904 Shiloh Church Rd., Piedmont and will receive friends Friday from 2-3 pm at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held 3pm Friday at the church with Dr. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Thomas Wilton and Eunice Ida Trotter Bagwell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was retired from J.P. Stevens, Estes Plant.

Surviving are his wife, of the home; sisters, Helen Wilson, of Piedmont, and Carolyn Garrett, of Mabelton, Ga; and brothers, Keith Bagwell, Fred Bagwell and Jack Bagwell, all of Piedmont.

He was predeceased by a sister, Sue B. Reid.

Funeral services will be 3 at p.m. today at Gray Mortuary Chapel in Pelzer, with the Rev. Robert Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late David Eugene and Minnie Lee Lancaster Loftis. She retired from Union Carbide and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Horace Loftis and Chester Loftis; and sister, Geneva Chambers.
She was buried at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina.
