Curtis Elliot Bagwell, 86, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Earl and Bernice Bagwell. He graduated from Easley High School Class of 1954 and attended Clemson University. After college, he worked at Thompson Dental Company until he joined Patterson Dental Company, where he served as general manager for the state of South Carolina until his retirement. After over 50 years in the dental industry, he continued to work with dentists throughout the upstate on a volunteer basis to assist with dental practice establishment, assessments, and management.
He received the Presidential Citation from the South Carolina Dental Association in 2006 in recognition of his mentorship and hard work on behalf of dentists throughout the state and regions of Georgia and North Carolina.
Mr. Bagwell served his country as a United States Army Reserves member. He was a life member of The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina and a member of Hejaz Shrine. He was also a member of Edwards Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family at Garden City Beach, Rocky Bottom, and of course, rooting for the Clemson Tigers as a long-time member of IPTAY. Curtis loved college football, antique cars, and sharing stories about family history.
Mr. Bagwell is predeceased by his loving wife, Jimmie Davis Bagwell, and his younger brother, Dr. Benson Bagwell. He is survived by sons Curtis Scott Bagwell and wife, Paula; Dr. James Keith Bagwell and wife, Amy; and a daughter, Lisa Leigh Osborn and husband, Marty; seven grandchildren, Curt Bagwell and wife, Meg, Ashley Alderson and husband, Ryan, Jessica Bagwell, Jamie Osborn, Dr. Davis Osborn, Emmeline Bagwell, and Sarah Bagwell; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bagwell; nephew, Elliot, and niece, Eliza; brother-in-law, Charles Davis; and cousins and other extended family members.
The family wishes to thank Caris Hospice and caregivers Bobbie and Elaine for providing support to Curtis.

He was very involved in the Clemson community and provided dental service not only through his regular practice but provided dental service to both needy children and adults in the Pickens County area.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Bagwell of the home; a son, Benson Elliott Bagwell of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Eliza Kirk Bagwell of Clemson; brother, Curtis Elliott Bagwell of Simpsonville, SC; and uncles James Jeter and Houston Roper both of Powdersville, SC.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Clemson with Reverend John Neiman officiating.
A private internment will be held prior to the service.
