     Loretta Lynn Glover was born on 20 April 1935 in Gadsden, Alabama. As of circa 1960,her married name was Bagwell. She married Marvin Ray Bagwell, son of Walter Fate Bagwell and Lessie Mildred Middleton, circa 1960. Loretta Lynn Glover died on 15 October 2023 in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, at age 88


Pisgah Forest - Loretta Glover Bagwell, age 88, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Marion and Louise Glover of Gadsden, AL. She was also preceded in death by her husband, M. Ray Bagwell.

She was a very much loved, wife, mother, and grandmother. She served as a commercial airline stewardess before becoming a wonderful full time homemaker.

Throughout her life she had a passion for English country antiques, wild flower gardening, and a love for the outdoors and her beloved kitties.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy Bagwell Penley and her husband Billy of Pisgah Forest, and grandson Trenton Penley of Pisgah Forest.

While this is a very difficult time, we are also glad and rejoicing that she has gone to be with her Lord, and is no longer in any pain.

A private graveside service will be held.



She was buried at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory, Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.

     Billy Ray Bagwell was born on 7 January 1934 in Laurens County, South Carolina.² He was the son of Benton Bagwell and Mary (?)² Billy Ray Bagwell married Helen Joyce Oulla before 1954.¹ Billy Ray Bagwell married JoAnne Gregory after 1976.² Billy Ray Bagwell died on 1 April 1999 in Self Memorial Hospital, Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina, at age 65.² He was buried at Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.²

     Helen Joyce Oulla married Billy Ray Bagwell, son of Benton Bagwell and Mary (?), before 1954.¹

     Vickie Campbell married Marvin Ray Bagwell, son of Billy Ray Bagwell and Helen Joyce Oulla, after 1972.

Mrs. Geraldine Bagwell "Gerri" Helms, 83, died Monday, September 27, 2021 at Rock Hill Post-Acute Care Center. All services are private.

Mrs. Helms was born September 11, 1939 in Chester, SC and was the daughter of the late Broadus B. Bagwell and Mamie Sue Wilbanks Bagwell. She was a graduate of Chester High School and York Tech.
Gerri was an accomplished seamstress having worked with many businesses around Chester and Rock Hill. She was active with the Chester Arts Council and in her earlier years she was resident mother for Columbia College. Mrs. Helms was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Charles Helms, she is survived by seven children, Mike Millwood (Debra), Renee Ewing (Timothy), Scott Helms (Karen) all of Chester, SC, David Helms of Marshville, NC, Terri Reed (Sherrill) of Denver, NC, Maria Doby (Reese) and Brenda Allen of Indian Trail, NC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; two sisters, Lynda O'Neal and Elaine Howard (Jack) of Chester, SC
