Billie Marie Grounds, age 88, of Tulsa, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at her home.

Billie was born on February 1, 1929 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Cliston and Sadie (Pointer) Bagwell. She attended school at Cleveland, Oklahoma and married Carl W. Grounds on November 25, 1947 in Tulsa. The couple lived in Tulsa most of their life. Carl passed away January 15, 2006. Billie was a homemaker all her life.

Celebration of life graveside services will be Monday, 11:00 a.m., February 6, 2017 at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Fred Waldrep officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck of Sand Springs.

     Robert Curtis Bagwill was born on 1 May 1931 in Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Autis Cliston Bagwill and Sadie Alice Pointer. I beleive he was Convict Number 114922 that was convicted of felony theft, buglary, murder with malice and forethought and was sentenced to life on 30 March 1949 with expiration of sentence being August 26, 1959 in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas. Robert C. Bagwill, 80, of Tulsa, passed from this life at his home on Monday, November 28, 2011, surrounded by family members.

Robert was born in Holdenville, OK on May 1, 1931, one of three children born to Autis Cliston Bagwill and Sadie Alice (Pointer) Bagwill. He worked in heavy equipment assembly for The Crosby Group, which manufactured oil field equipment. Robert and Martha Shipley were married in Tulsa on April 20, 1962 and had enjoyed forty-nine years of marriage prior to his death.

Robert was a quiet man who could always be counted on to help others. He was also a man of many talents, which when combined with his strong work ethic made him a person who was appreciated by those he came in contact with. One of his self-taught talents was art, ranging from pencil art to oil paintings of landscapes, various objects he encountered in traveling around the country, and portraits, most notably, portraits of his grandchildren. Those were proudly displayed on the walls of his home. Robert also took great pleasure in landscaping and worked regularly in his yard, mowing, planting flowers, vegetable gardens, shrubs, etc. He had a natural ability when it came to building and remodeling things and had virtually rebuilt their original home and built some beautiful additions to the home. He and Martha enjoyed traveling and took many trips throughout the United States with Martha's cousin Paula Catlett and her husband Jack.

Robert is survived by his wife Martha, a daughter, Marsha Gail Caves and husband James and a son, Bobby Bagwill and wife Teresa, all of Tulsa, four grandchildren, Jacob Bagwill and wife Brittany, Alexis Campbell and husband Matt, Rick Dillon, and Victoria "Tory" Dillon. He is also survived by seven great-grandchilren, other family members and many friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Jubilee International Ministries, 680 E 41st St, Sand Springs, with Pastors Pat Fryer and Dan Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.

     Marsha Gail Bagwill was born on 18 March 1961 in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Robert Curtis Bagwill and Martha Louise Avery. As of after 1979,her married name was Caves. Marsha Gail Bagwill married James Caves after 1979. Marsha Gail Bagwill died on 3 February 2015 in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, at age 53. She was buried at Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Dykes Crossing, Pike County, Mississippi.

     James Cliston Bagwill was born on 29 September 1932 in Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Autis Cliston Bagwill and Sadie Alice Pointer. James Cliston Bagwill married Lois Kindred on 6 October 1951 at Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas. James Cliston Bagwill married Patricia Faye Dunbar on 27 February 1960 at Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. James Cliston Bagwill died on 11 October 2001 in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, at age 69.

     Patricia Faye Dunbar married James Cliston Bagwill, son of Autis Cliston Bagwill and Sadie Alice Pointer, on 27 February 1960 at Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.

     Antas Bagwill was also known as Antas Bagwell. He was born circa 1880 in Illinois or Mississippi. He married Louisa Brown on 24 June 1902 at Domphan, Ripley County, Missouri. Antas Bagwill married Pearl Porter in 1913 at Jackson County, Illinois. Antas Bagwill married Corey Griffin on 6 May 1923 at Butler County, Missouri.

     Louisa Brown was also known as Lovia Brown. She was born on 8 August 1885 in Ray, Missouri. As of 24 June 1902,her married name was Bagwill. She married Antas Bagwill on 24 June 1902 at Domphan, Ripley County, Missouri. Louisa Brown died on 2 July 1916 in Arkansas at age 30.

     Corey Griffin married Antas Bagwill on 6 May 1923 at Butler County, Missouri.

     Bynum Bagwill was born in 1908 in Missouri. He was the son of Antas Bagwill and Louisa Brown.

     Pearl Porter married Antas Bagwill in 1913 at Jackson County, Illinois.

     Gervace Wright Collins Sr. was born on 22 November 1926 in Elmer, Jackson County, Oklahoma. He married Josie Marie Bagwell, daughter of Thomas James Bagwell and Amanda Lucinda Gann, after 1957. Gervace Wright Collins Sr. died on 22 November 1988 in McCurtain County, Oklahoma, at age 62.

     James Carl Jinright Sr. was born on 24 January 1910 in Pike County, Alabama, Source is his hand-written military registration card (D.S.S. Form 1) dated October 16, 1940.¹ He was the son of Joel D. Murphree Jinright and Jessie Elizabeth Brown.^2,3 James Carl Jinright Sr. married Mamie Elizabeth Hickman, daughter of Edgar E. Hickman and Addie Mae Free, in January 1937 at Pike County, Alabama.⁴ James Carl Jinright Sr. lived on 16 October 1940 in Banks, Pike County, Alabama. He died on 28 August 1966 at age 56.¹ He was buried at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Troy, Pike County, Alabama.¹

     Mamie Elizabeth Hickman was born in 1912.¹ She was the daughter of Edgar E. Hickman and Addie Mae Free. As of January 1937,her married name was Jinright.¹ Mamie Elizabeth Hickman married James Carl Jinright Sr., son of Joel D. Murphree Jinright and Jessie Elizabeth Brown, in January 1937 at Pike County, Alabama.¹ Mamie Elizabeth Hickman died on 13 February 1943 in Phoenix City, Russell County, Alabama.¹ She was buried at Holdenville Cemetery, Troy, Pike County, Alabama.¹

     Edgar E. Hickman was born on 23 November 1889 in Alabama. He married Addie Mae Free, daughter of Charlie H. Free and Mattie Brannon, before 1912. Edgar E. Hickman died on 20 February 1944 in Muscogee County, Georgia, at age 54.

     Joel D. Murphree Jinright was born on 2 April 1890 in Alabama.¹ He was the son of James Milton "Mitt" Jinright and Christina Penelope “Christy” Law.² Joel D. Murphree Jinright married Jessie Elizabeth Brown on 18 April 1910 at Pike County, Alabama.³ Joel D. Murphree Jinright married Irene Vickery on 12 November 1924 at Pike County, Alabama. Joel D. Murphree Jinright lived on 16 October 1940 in Banks, Pike County, Alabama. He died on 23 December 1971 in Troy, Pike County, Alabama, at age 81.¹ He was buried at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Troy, Pike County, Alabama.¹

     Jessie Elizabeth Brown was born on 3 April 1890.¹ She married Joel D. Murphree Jinright, son of James Milton "Mitt" Jinright and Christina Penelope “Christy” Law, on 18 April 1910 at Pike County, Alabama.¹ As of 18 April 1910,her married name was Jinright.¹ Jessie Elizabeth Brown died on 21 September 1922 at age 32.¹ She was buried at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Troy, Pike County, Alabama.

     William Carroll Jinright was born on 14 August 1912 in Pike County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Joel D. Murphree Jinright and Jessie Elizabeth Brown.¹ William Carroll Jinright married Ila Garrett after 1935.² William Carroll Jinright died on 8 December 1985 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, at age 73.¹ He was buried at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.¹

     Ila Garrett was born on 2 May 1917 in Troy, Pike County, Alabama.¹ As of after 1935,her married name was Jinright.¹ She married William Carroll Jinright, son of Joel D. Murphree Jinright and Jessie Elizabeth Brown, after 1935.¹ Ila Garrett died on 15 September 2012 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, at age 95.¹ She was buried at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.¹

     J. P. Jinright was born on 2 April 1915 in Josie, Pike County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Joel D. Murphree Jinright and Jessie Elizabeth Brown.¹ He was a TEC 5 in the US Army during Woreld War II.¹ J. P. Jinright married Ruth Cardwell after 1943.² J. P. On Saturday morning, January 31st, 2009, J.P. Jinright of Troy passed away at Troy Regional Medical Center. He was born April 2nd, 1915 in Josie, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Pike County. He joined the army and served over five years in the South Pacific as an radio-aircraft detection operator during World War II. He retired as chief of campus security at Troy University after many years of service. He was an active member of Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church since its inception and was a faithful member of the Pike County Gideons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel, Irene (stepmother), and Jessie Brown Jinright (mother), brothers Carl, Carroll, Howard and sister Valley Mae Barr, son, Joel Eugene, and daughter Gloria Jean. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and his son John Jinright, daughter-in-law, Penny, and their children, Jessica and Tessa, all of Troy. Other living family members include his sister-in-law Ila Jinright and her sons in Phenix City, nieces Betty Powell, Elizabeth Dansby, Marie Vonfeldt, and Regina Hartzog and their families. Nephews include: Buren Barr, Morris Barr, Adrian Barr, Pat Barr, Noah Jinright, and Ray Jinright.

Visitation will occur at Green Hills Funeral Home from 4 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday, February 3rd with a funeral service beginning at 6 PM. The Rev. Dave Kirby will officiate. The family asks that memorials be made to the Pike County Gideons or to Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

Services for Ruth Cardwell Jinright , 83, of Troy, who peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Troy Regional Medical Center, will be at 6:00 P.M., Friday, April 17 at Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doc Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery under the direction of Green Hills Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, April 17 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

She was born April 30th, 1925 in Troy, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Pike County. She was a graduate of Troy High School and Massey Business College. She served as bookkeeper over the years for Troy Bank and Trust, Banks Elementary School, Bethel Primary School, and the Troy University Physical Plant. She was an active member of Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church since its inception and served as its bookkeeper and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Jinright, her parents, Clarence and Ruth Somersett Cardwell, and sisters Ruby Law and Lorraine Harris. She is survived by her son John Jinright, daughter-in-law, Penny, and their children, Jessica and Tessa, all of Troy, a sister, Hilda Wininger (Tucson, AZ), a niece, Gail Liston, (Jefferson, MA), a brother, Clarence Cardwell, Jr., (Midland, TX), nephews Bob Cardwell (Austin, TX) and Bill Cardwell, a niece, Jimmie Sue Cummins (Princeton, IN), a nephew, Ed Harris (Arab, AL) and their respective families.

The family especially wishes to thank Dr. Pink Folmar, Mrs. Jane Denison, Mrs. Shirley Brabham, Mrs. Billie Anne McCloud, Mrs. Betty Powell, Mrs. Elizabeth Dansby, Mrs. Rebecca Shipman, Mrs. Pauladene Edwards, Mrs. Jeri Redmon and Mrs. Lois Byrd for their kindness and love over the years. The family also expresses gratitude to the nurses, doctors and aides of Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Troy Regional Medical Center.
