Wilson Bagwell, age 86 of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at UAB Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Dovertown Church of Christ Cemetery. Rob Gurganus will officiate.

Mr. Bagwell was preceded in death by his Parents-Allen Bagwell and Nona Bagwell; Jimmy Bagwell, George Bagwell, Cassie Bagwell.

He is survived by his Wife of almost 50 years-Teresa Stanley Bagwell; Son-Danny Bagwell (Raye); Daughter-Kristy Cox (Brandon); Grandkids-Josh Bagwell (Keri), Amanda Sherer (Andrew), Jessica Bagwell, Connor Cox, and Kailea Cox; Great Grandkids-Kohen Bagwell, Brynnly Sherer; Nieces and Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Danny Bagwell, Brandon Cox, Josh Bagwell, Jeff Tyler, Connor Cox, and Corey Pierce.


He was buried on 5 October 2025 at Dovertown Church of Christ Cemetery, Dovertown, Walker County, Alabama.

     Jessica Mae Bagwell was born on 22 December 1902 in Bell County, Texas. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Bagwell and Martha Elnora Bailey. As of 24 December 1918,her married name was Gaskey. Jessica Mae Bagwell married John T. Gaskey on 24 December 1918 at Kaufman County, Texas. Jessica Mae Bagwell died on 24 January 1925 in Hunt County, Texas, at age 22 of rectal cancer. She was buried on 25 January 1925 at Blackland Cemetery, Crandall, Kaufman County, Texas.

     John T. Gaskey was born in 1900. He married Jessica Mae Bagwell, daughter of Andrew Jackson Bagwell and Martha Elnora Bailey, on 24 December 1918 at Kaufman County, Texas. John T. Gaskey died in 1954. He was buried at Royse City Cemetery, Royse City, Rockwall County, Texas.

     Martha Elnora Bailey was also known as Nora Bailey. She was born on 18 January 1884 in Beeville, Bee County, Texas. She married Andrew Jackson Bagwell, son of Kennedy Canida Bagwell and Melvaline A. Ellen Whitener, on 24 February 1901 at Bell County, Texas. As of 24 February 1901,her married name was Bagwell. As of 3 August 1907,her married name was Calhoun. Martha Elnora Bailey married Austin Travis Calhoun on 3 August 1907 at Bell County, Texas. Martha Elnora Bailey died on 26 December 1967 in Grapeland, Houston County, Texas, at age 83. She was buried at Rogers Cemetery, Rogers, Bell County, Texas.

     Austin Travis Calhoun was born on 6 August 1884 in Texas. He married Martha Elnora Bailey on 3 August 1907 at Bell County, Texas. Austin Travis Calhoun died on 25 October 1956 in Rogers, Bell County, Texas, at age 72.

He served in the US Army from 22 June 1918 to 11 November 1919 during World War I. Wiley X Bagwell died on 23 December 1985 at age 96.

     George Bagwell was born in April 1892 in Arkansas. He was the son of Kennedy Canida Bagwell and Melvaline A. Ellen Whitener.

     Joseph C. Harkins was born in March 1860 in Texas. He married Melvaline A. Ellen Whitener on 18 December 1897 at Bell County, Texas.

     Gladys Lorrine Bagwell was born on 2 May 1920 in Anderson County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Bagwell and Birdie V. Martin. Gladys Lorrine Bagwell died on 23 February 1996 at age 75.
