He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Glenda Sue Bagwell; and sisters Helen Sprayberry, Betty Sanders, and Jackie Pesses. John is survived by his wife of 64 years Novie Bagwell of Magnolia; daughters Linda Hollensworth and husband Jim of El Dorado, Rita Curtis and husband Dwayne of Magnolia; son Jimmy Bagwell and wife Mitzi of Coppell, TX; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Jeff Mock officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hollensworth, James Hollensworth, Cameron Bagwell, Zach Hutcheson, Rusty Curtis, and Dwayne Curtis.

He served as a TEC 5 in the US Army during World War II. Was arrested and convicted of killing Leonard (Lennie) Watson with a metal claw hammer in Pike County, Mississippi. Wiley Talmadge Bagwell married Lula Van Metre on 5 November 1976 at Winkler, Texas. Wiley Talmadge Bagwell died on 26 November 1978 in Dubach, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, at age 60. He was buried at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery, Union Parish, Louisiana.

He was a Private in the United States Army. Benjamin Allen Gresham died on 1 November 1977 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, at age 75. He was buried at Evergreen Baptist Church, Union Parish, Louisiana.
