     Wendell "Wendy" Lee Bagwell was born on 16 May 1925 in Chamblee, DeKalb County, Georgia.1,2,3

Gospel Music Singer, Comedian. Known for his famous "Rattle Snake" Story. He was born in Chamblee, Georgia, in 1925, and grew up in Cumming which he left at age 17 to join the Marine Corps during World War II. He fought for his country and received the Bronze Star and a Letter of Commendation for Bravery. After his return he founded his own furniture store business, which is still in operation today in Mableton, Georgia. In 1954, he joined together with Geraldine (Jerri) Morrison and Georgia Jones to form "The Sunliters", a local gospel group which would be joined in 1960 by Jan Buckner, Wendy's niece-in-law. They became one of the premier Southern gospel groups in the nation, winning a Top 5 Grammy Award in 1995, Gold Record for Million Seller, Special Award from the Gospel Music Association, and other awards.

He was the son of Rufus McCager Bagwell and Arzie Emmerline Vaughan.1 Wendell "Wendy" Lee Bagwell raised Ronald Harold "Ronnie" Buckner starting in circa 1944. (Ronald was his nephew).4 Wendell "Wendy" Lee Bagwell married Melba Louise Hogue on 18 April 1946 at Dallas, Georgia.4 Wendell "Wendy" Lee, his wife Melba and his nephew, Ronald Buckner, opened Bagwell Sales Furniture in Georgia. The same business, now named Wendy Bagwell Furniture, is still family owned and operated in Mableton, Georgia.5 He died on 13 June 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia, at age 71 of a brain aneurysm.1,2,3 He was buried on 15 June 1996 at Riverview (River View) Memorial Park, Smyrna, Cobb County, Georgia.2 Wendell "Wendy" Lee was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1997 as Wendy Bagwell and the Sunliters.      Ida Bell Campbell was born on 24 May 1919 in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia.1 As of 25 November 1936,her married name was Bagwell. She married Robert Herman Bagwell, son of Walter Riley Bagwell and Willie Ruth Phillips, on 25 November 1936 at Gwinnett County, Georgia.2 Ida Bell Campbell died on 1 July 2012 at age 93

Ida Campbell Bagwell Conner 93 of Lawrenceville died 7-1-201. Born 5-24-1919 in Lawrenceville to Alfred Perry & Maybell Hayes Campbell, she was preceded in death by parents, husband, Robert Herman Bagwell, 2nd husband, Prince Kermit Conner, son, Travis Wayne Bagwell, and all nine of her siblings. She worked as a cafeteria worker at West Walton School in Youth and Loganville Elementary School. Loved by all who knew her she leaves a lasting legacy in her family. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Survived by daughters, Runette & Jerry Braswell of Helen, Dorothy "Dot" & Jim Napier, Patricia "Pat" & Randall Pugh of Jefferson, Victoria "Vickie" Norris of Florida, Regina & Derrick Boyce of Loganville; sons, Kenneth & Liz Bagwell, Hollis Bagwell of Lawrenceville, and Terry Bagwell of Snellville; 24 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service Thursday in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with interment at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in Snellville.
Mother, you will be dearly missed by those you left behind, but we are sure that we will see you again one day.1

     Albert Dempsey "Red" Bagwell was born on 20 September 1914 in Cumming, Forsyth County, Georgia.1 He was the son of Emory Lafayette Bagwell and Loudelia Faggans.1 Albert Dempsey "Red" Bagwell married Ruby Mae Pugh on 3 November 1935 at Hall County, Georgia.2 Albert Dempsey "Red" Bagwell died on 2 November 1982 in Suwanee, Gwinnett County, Georgia, at age 68 Obit: Services for A. D. (Red) Bagwell, 68, 3247 Burnette Road, Suwanee, were to be held at 2 pm Thursday at Old Field Baptist Church with the Revs. Preston Moore, Tolbert Moore, and Virgil Bailey officiating. Mr. Bagwell, who died at his residence after a sudden illness, was retired from the National Biscuit Co. in Atlanta. He was a member of Old Field Bapt. Church. Jack McFarland Bagwell married Angela Williams after 1955.2 Jack McFarland Bagwell died on 6 November 1976 in Clayton County, Georgia, at age 52.1 He was buried on 9 November 1976 at Old Roswell Cemetery, Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia.1
