Henry Paul Bagwell Jr.

     Henry Paul Bagwell Jr. was born on 8 November 1930 in Pauline, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He was the son of Henry Paul Bagwell and Viola M. Rogers. Henry Paul Bagwell Jr. married Dorothy Smitley on 11 September 1953. Henry Paul Bagwell Jr. died on 2 May 2015 in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, at age 84 Henry P. Bagwell Jr. went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2015 at the age of 84. Henry was born November 8, 1930 to Henry & Viola Bagwell in Pauline, South Carolina. He attended school in Pauline and Campobello near Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Henry's parents Henry & Viola, brother Maurice (Bill), sister-in-law Brenda, and sister Mary preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and his children: Linda (Bruce) Laugherty, Don (LaDonna) Bagwell, Mark (Wilma) Bagwell, David (Theresa) Bagwell, and Mike Bagwell, grandchildren: Amber (Hadyn) Hollister, Benjamin Bagwell, Aaron Bagwell, Andrea Bagwell, Rick Bagwell, Wendy (Dane) Mortimer, great grand-daughter Isabelle Hollister, and brother-in-law Lamar Redmon.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953, serving in Germany during the Korean War. While stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri he met his loving wife Dorothy Smitley and they married September 11, 1953.
Henry worked 41 years at Lily Tulip Cup Corporation in Springfield, MO. changing to Sweetheart to Solo Cup, he retired as a supervisor over the print shop ink & plate department.
Henry was a member at Central Assembly of God church where he served faithfully as a greeter and usher sixty years until the time of his death.
Burial with full Military Honors at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

Mary Bagwell Redmon, 70, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. She was born in Spartanburg County, SC on April 9, 1939, daughter of the late Henry Paul and Viola Rogers Bagwell. Mrs. Redmon was a retired Department manager for Rose's Stores. Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Redmon is survived by her husband, Ralph Lamar Redmon, sons, Monty Lamar Redmon and wife Kimberly of Aynor, SC, Randy Maurice Redmon of Wingate, daughter, Vickie R. Strickland and husband Walter of St. Matthews, SC, brother, Henry Paul Bagwell and wife Dorothy of Springfield, Missouri, 6 grandchildren, Blake Price, Stephen Strickland, Matthew, William, Andrew and Jessica Redmon, 1 great grandchild, Gabriel Price.1

Vida Evelyn Riley died on 19 May 2011 in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, at age 84 Vida Evelyn Bagwell, age 84, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Springfield Rehabilitation. She was born February 19, 1927, in Blanche, Mo., to William and Ethel (Hicks) Riley. She was united in marriage to Eldon R. Bagwell on June 3, 1944 in Columbus, Kansas.

She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church where she actively served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and Ladies Auxiliary member. Evelyn Retired from the Springfield Public School system after 22 years. She will be remembered as a great cook and an avid gardener who grew beautiful flowers. She loved fishing, painting, and good gospel singing; but her greatest loves were her church, family, and her dog, Angel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Bagwell; parents, William Riley and Ethel Walker; one sister, Lena Ruth Hendrix; three brothers, Lemuel (Buster) Riley, Robert Riley, William (Bill) Riley; and her beloved dog, Angel.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Brazeal and husband Roderick of Clever, Mo. and Evelyn Kay Summerfield and husband, Bill of Palm Coast, FL; one son, Eldon Ray Bagwell and wife, Betty of Lebanon MO; four grandchildren, Aleshia Garrison, Angela Summerfield, Erin Cook, and Riley Bagwell; three great- grandchildren, Lachele Schulze, Quentin Garrison, and Zachary Garrison; one brother, Carroll Riley; seven sisters, Lorene Robertson, Ethel Mae Versaw, Anna Adams, Lou Zona Hartin, Delphia Virginia Taylor, Beverly Jean Meredith, and Shirley Twitty; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011, in First Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Alvin Hook and Don Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or First Freewill Baptist Building Fund.

Dewey Winfield Mills1

     Dewey Winfield Mills was born on 10 November 1914 in Lawrence County, Indiana.1 He married Ruth A. Bagwell, daughter of Melvin Llary Bagwell and Esta M. Sowder, in 1935.1 Dewey Winfield Mills died on 8 October 1958 in Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana, at age 43 Dewey was dead on arrival at Dunn Memorial Hospital, his death was sudden. He was a Fabricast employee and a farmer. The son of Cyrus and Carried Belle Speer Mills. He married Ruth Bagwell in 1935.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Dewey Jr. and Samuel, two daughters, Rita Jane and Mrs. Harvey Morrow, three grandchildren, the mother, three brothers William, Cecil and Vernon, two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Brown and Mrs. David Watts.

A son, Robert Howard, and an infant daughter, Delores preceded him in death.

Services will be on Saturday at the Pinhook Christian Church with Brother Robert Williams officiating. Day and Carter Mortuary are in charge of the funeral.1 He was buried at Pinhook Cemetery, Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana.1
