Obituary:

Bob Bagwell, 81, of Wichita Falls went to be with his heavenly Father Wednesday June 30, 2010 at a local hospital. Services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 3, 2010 at Western Hills Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Tony Moye. Interment with military honors will follow at Crestview Memorial Park directed by Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Bob was born January 31, 1929 in Clarendon, TX to Wade and Estella Martin Bagwell. He married Jessie M. Green on July 2, 1950 in Clarendon, TX and together they raised two daughters and a son. He served our country in the United States Air Force as a radio operator on the B-17 and B-36 as well as a pilot on the B-25 during tours in Japan and Korea. After the Korean War he served in a classified position in Washington D.C. Bob retired in 1991 as a District Manager from McLane Wholesale Grocery Company after many years service. He loved to bowl, play dominos, especially 42, and when he was younger he loved to play golf. He was a deacon at Western Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Bagwell is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Bruce Bagwell; parents, Wade and Estella Bagwell; sisters, Eva Jo Taylor, and Wanda Nell Richardson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years this Friday, Jessie Bagwell; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Wes Cox of Weatherford, TX, Lisa and Damon Pickett of Wichita Falls; brothers, Mike Bagwell of Westport, WA, Roy and wife Roxanne Bagwell of Caballo, NM; granddaughters, Elisha Cox of Dallas, TX, Mandi and husband Robbie Freeman of Wichita Falls, and Amber Pickett of Wichita Falls.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday July 2, 2010 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Western Hills Baptist Church youth fund.1

He was buried at Crestview Memorial Park, Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas.1

She was preceded in death by her husband,Bobbie Dee Bagwell in 2010, her daughter, Sharon Marie Cox, her son: Gregory Bruce Bagwell, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, and her parents. Survivors include her daughter: Lisa Pickett and husband Monte of Wichita Falls; grandchildren: Mandi Freeman, Amber Smith, and Elisha Cox; and great-grandchildren: Hayden Smith, Amelia Smith, and Tatum Freeman. He Served as a Private in Harlan County Battalion, Company B. This Battalion was on active duty from 13 October 1862 to 13 January 1863. The Harlan County Battalion fought the Tenth Kentucky Mounted Rifles CSA, fellow kentuckyians, in the First Battle of Whitesburg, Letcher County Kentucky 13 December 1862.
Enlisted as a Private 1 April 1865 in Three Forks Battalion Regiment Ky, Company H, mustered out 17 July 1865 in Irvine Ky. The Three Forks Battalion fought the 13th Kentucky Calvery CSA in the Second Battle of Whitesburg, Letcher County Kentucky 16 April 1865. Hadley Bohanon died in December 1882 in Letcher County, Kentucky, Served as a Private in Harlan County Battalion, Company B. This Battalion was on active duty from 13 October 1862 to 13 January 1863. The Harlan County Battalion fought the Tenth Kentucky Mounted Rifles CSA in the First Battle of Whitesburg, Letcher County Kentucky 13 December 1862.
