"Joseph Bunch, 74, who went unscathed through Apache Raids as a child and risked his life many times in a long career as a peace officer, died Monday in his home at Wittman.
Born in a log cabin on the Tonto Rim between Prescott and Payson, he was the son of Charles William Bunch, pioneer cattle rancher in that country.
As a child, Mr. Bunch's home was attacked repeatedly by marauding Apaches and for a time he and his family were driven out of Arizona and lived at Deming, NM until the raids were stopped. Later as a man he served as an assistant marshal in Tempe under the late Leonce T. (Frenchy) Navarre. With Navarre, and a farmer who lived south of Tempe, Mr. Bunch shot it out with two robbers in a cotton field near the southside community. One of the robbers was killed by the farmer. The gunmen had robbed Baber and Jones Market in Tempe, wounding the late H.C. Baber seriously and killing a 16 year old youth who was in the market. Mr. Bunch also served as a Maricopa County sheriff's deputy under the late Sheriff Lon Jondan and during World War II was a guard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base near Tucson. He had been living at Whitman for 13 months at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife Nora of Wittman; three sons, Talton J of Riverside, CA; Charles W.,Phoenix; Joseph B. of Santa Anita, CA; two daughters, Zona Blackburn, Bellview,NM; Nancy J. Brown,Riverside, CA. Burial will be in Resthaven Park, Glendale,AZ."1

He was buried at Resthaven Park West Cemetery, Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona.1

Services for Hopie White Bagwell are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park. The Rev. Raymond Brady will conduct the rites. Mrs. Bagwell died Monday in a McAlester hospital.
She was born, Dec. 18, 1882, in Franklin County, Arkansas to John and Affie Irons White, and moved to Hartshorne in 1940 from the Fitzhugh and Fittstown area. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Her husband , Charlie Bagwell , died here in May, 1961. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Vala Hunter, Hollis, Mrs. Latha Posey, Ada, Mrs. Bertha Nabors, Duncan, and Mrs. Lois Reeves, Wilburton; two sons, Morris Bagwell, Stuart, Nebraska, and Henry Bagwell, Hartshorne; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.1
She was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma.1

Morris Bagwell died in November 1980 in McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, at age 68 Funeral Services for Morris Bagwell, 68, Haileyville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Mills Funeral Home Chapel. Arnold Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Bagwell died Thursday in a McAlester hospital. He was born July 23, 1912 in Antlers, to Charlie W. and Lou White Bagwell. He came to Hartshorne in 1978 from Seward, Neb. He and Juanita Pierce were married Sep. 26, 1935, in Sulphur. Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of the home; three sons, Dale, Jerry, and Ronny Bagwell, all of Nebraska; four sisters, Vala Hunter, Hollis, Okla., Layther Posey, and Bertha Nabors, both of Ada, and Lois Reeves, Wilburton, Okla; one brother, Henry Bagwell, Hartshorne; and several grandchildren. Mills Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Hartshorne, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.
