Story from the Independent, August 1, 1901
Kirwin had a Carrie Nation time last Sunday, and as a result four window lights in the old Monarch Billiard Parlor front were punctured with brick-bats. It is said that a poker game was in session. The hero in the act is Julia Inman.

Julia's mother is not Carrie E. Bagwell buried in this same cemetery. Carrie would be Julia's step-mother. See obituary.

Mrs. John Inman Dead
Mrs. Carl Camp and Mrs. E. Hainline have received word today that their mother, Mrs. John Inman, died in a hospital at Alliance, Nebraska. The fifth of June Mrs. Inman went to the hospital and had a cataract removed from her eye. This aggravated an old trouble and resulted in her death. The body will arrive tomorrow morning, Thursday, and the burial will be in the Kirwin Cemetery.
June 14, 1922-Kirwin Kansan

Julia Ann Bagwell was born at Dalton, Georgia, November 1, 1864, and died at Alliance, Nebraska, June 14, 1922, at the age of 52 years, 6 months and 10 days.

In infancy her parents came to Wyandotte county, Kansas, where her mother died leaving her at the age of two years. They then came to Cloud County, Kansas, where her father remarried. In 1872 they came to Phillips County where she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Mr. John Inman on April 3, 1889. To this union were born 12 children, six girls and six boys of whom all are living except one son, Ralph William who was born July 23, 1902 and died April 5, 1906.

She with her husband was baptized in the Church of Christ in the spring of 1913. Her health was of the best until they moved from here to Burlington, Colorado, August 1916 where her health began to fail. She was taken to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she underwent two serious operations for gall stones. That left her in poor health which resulted in the loss of her sight one year later. After living two years in blindness, she left Kirwin on the 28th day of April 1922 to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alice L. Calvert of Alliance, Nebraska, where she underwent another operation to restore her sight on June 5, 1922. Her heart being weak, death came as a kind release Wednesday at 5:45 a.m. June 14, 1922.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, John W. Inman, 11 children, Elmer O. Inman of Kirwin, Charles T. Inman of Burlington, Colorado, Mae E. Dorr of Alliance Nebraska, Ira L. Inman of Freedom, Oklahoma, Julia E. Camp of Kirwin, Kansas, Eva A. Hainline of Kirwin, Kansas, Alice L. Calvert of Alliance, Nebraska, Olive A. Roberts of Los Angeles, California, Losson L., Ray W. and Alta G. Inman of Alliance, Nebraska, 16 grandchildren, an aged father and 11 brothers and sisters and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. E. A. Blakesley gave the address. Interment was made in the Kirwin Cemetery.1
She was buried at Kirwin Cemetery, Kirwin, Phillips County, Kansas.1
