She was born on 26 June 1854 in Ohio.1 She married John Quincy Bagwell in 1872. Emily Caroline "Carrie" Garber died on 7 November 1886 in Lincoln, Oklahoma, at age 32
Wife of John Q. Bagwell--She was born in Ohio. Her first and middle names could be Emily Caroline or Caroline Emily. Her maiden name may be Harrison. Carrie E (Emily Caroline) had a daughter, Lillie May. Lillie May Bagwell married William M. Belford. Her mother is Emily C. Garber.

Died—Bagwell—In Kirwin, Phillips County, Kansas, on Monday morning, November 7, 1886, Carrie E., wife of John Q. Bagwell, aged 38 years, 4 months, and 18 days.

Mrs. Bagwell had been sick for some weeks, her disease being uncontrollable. A few days ago she was stricken with paralysis of the left side and since then has gradually failed, till on Monday morning last, when death came to her relief. She leaves six children, the oldest being only 13, and the youngest less than two years old. The funeral took place at the M. E. Church on Tuesday morning, Rev. W. J. Meredith, assisted by Rev. R. F. Markham, officiating. A large concourse of friends followed the remains to the cemetery where the worn body has at last found rest.

Austin Bagwell was found in the 1900 Census living in Fox, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. He was married at that time. Perhaps the other younger children went to Oklahoma as well.

Sylva Ettie Bagwell

     Sylva Ettie Bagwell was born on 20 July 1873 in Glasco, Clound County, Kansas.1 She was the daughter of John Quincy Bagwell and Emily Caroline "Carrie" Garber. Sylva Ettie Bagwell married Jacob Brown Muir on 2 March 1892. Sylva Ettie Bagwell died on 22 December 1943 in Logan, Kansas, at age 70
Sylvia Ettie Bagwell, daughter of Carrie E. and John Bagwell, was born at Glasco, Kansas (Cloud County), July 20, 1873, and passed away at her home in Logan, Kansas on December 22, 1943, at the age of 70.

When about two years old, she moved with her parents to their farm north of Kirwin, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Jacob B. Muir on March 2, 1892, and to this union three children were born. They are Mrs. Bessie Linn of Omaha, Mrs. Flo Watkins of Phillipsburg, and Robert E. Muir of Phillipsburg.

She also leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Jacob; four grandchildren—Billy Dorothy, and Jack M. Linn of Omaha, Mrs. Wilhelm Krause of Phillipsburg, and Pfc. Donald Watkins who is in the Armed Forces in Egypt; two sisters—Mrs. William Belford of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. F. W. Stidham, of Chandler, Oklahoma. One sister, three brothers, and her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Logan with interment in the Kirwin Cemetery. Rev. Lawrence Carlton officiated.1

Austin Clemons Bagwell married Jennie Gertrude Farnham before 1903. Austin Clemons Bagwell died on 10 December 1937 in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, at age 61. He was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Morgan, Morgan County, Colorado.

Melvin Lawson Bagwell died on 11 June 1970 in Austin, Travis County, Texas, at age 60. He was buried at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, Meade County, South Dakota.

Ira Emerson Boring

     Ira Emerson Boring was born on 20 July 1886 in Kansas. He married Alta Iona Bagwell, daughter of John Quincy Bagwell and Anna Watts, on 20 February 1926. Ira Emerson Boring died on 10 November 1962 in Grinnell, Poweshiek County, Iowa, at age 76 Ira Emerson Boring, son of George and Lela Boring, was born in Kansas July 20, 1886, and died at St. Francis hospital in Grinnell Nov. 10, 1962, following a long illness.

Mr. Boring grew up in his native community and moved to Princeton, Mo. where he attended rural schools. Living most of his adult life in Iowa, he came to Malcom about ten years ago where he lived the remainder of his life. He worked as a carpenter until retirement.

He was married to Alta Bagwell at Warsaw, Mo. Feb. 20, 1926.

Survivors include his widow, Alta, of Malcom; a sister, Mrs. Grace Ash of Trenton, Mo; two step-children, Virgil Dykes of Langley, Okla., and Mrs. Sylvia Shaw of Malcom; four step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held November 14 at Bramer's funeral home in Brooklyn in charge of the Rev. G.H. Hulsebus. Burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery. He was buried at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom, Poweshiek County, Iowa.

Lillie E. (?)

     Lillie E. (?) was born on 29 October 1891.1 She married Cecil Edthridge Bagwell, son of John Quincy Bagwell and Anna Watts, after 1905. Lillie E. (?) died on 30 October 1987 at age 96.1 She was buried at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.1

William Chester "Bill" Bailey

M, b. 9 December 1899, d. September 1986
     William Chester "Bill" Bailey was born on 9 December 1899 in Owingsville, Bath County, Kentucky. He married Winifred "Winnie" Bagwell, daughter of John Quincy Bagwell and Anna Watts, on 22 February 1922 at Chandler, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. William Chester "Bill" Bailey died in September 1986 in Chandler, Lincoln County, Oklahoma, at age 86 Bill was a son of William Warren Bailey and Mary Belle (Myers) Bailey.
Around 1905, William, Mary and their family left Kentucky and arrived in the Oklahoma Territory. Shortly after their arrival, William died of fever and Mary was left to raise their seven children and work the farm. In 1908 Mary re-married, marrying Andrew Clark.
Bill was only around 6 years of age when he lost his father and along with the other children was needed to help with the farm work.

She was born in Bath county, Kentucky May 10, 1866 - (dtr of Owen Myers and Annie (Bartlett) She was married to William Warren Bailey Nov. 2, 1887. She was united in marriage to F.W. Pryor (Fillmore) on July 10, 1926 in Oklahoma. (Fillmore was a widower). She died July 4, 1941 at Mangum, Oklahoma.

He lived in Lincoln County most of his life.
He married Winnie Bagwell on Feb. 22, 1922, at Chandler.
Bailey was a retired farmer. he attended the Assembly of God church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Faye Tackett Chandler; a brother, Owen Bailey, Stroud; a sister, Betty Phipps, Davenport, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were directed by Curry-Parks Funeral Home, Chandler.
