     Clifton Curtis Bagwell was born on 7 January 1912 in Dale County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Pinkston V. ("Pink") Bagwell and Mary Jane Mathews. Clifton Curtis Bagwell married Mary E. (?) after 1930 at Jefferson County, Alabama. He served in the US Army during World War II. Master Sergeant Jimmy L Bagwell married Shirley McGuff after 1960. He served as a Master Sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam war. Master Sergeant Jimmy L. Bagwell, U.S. Army, Ret., 66, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton.

Mr. Bagwell was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was retired from the U.S. Army, in which he served his country proudly for more than 20 years including the Vietnam War.

He was an active member of the American Legion and also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He will be remembered for his service in the community and many acts of kindness. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 27, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Hunter's Chapel Cemetery. George Barrera and George Krigbaum will officiate.
