Leatha Nadine Scruggs Bagwell, age 82, of Grover, NC was called home to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, October 2, 2015 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Her journey ended very peacefully surrounded by family and the singing of hymns. Born in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late Rev. H.S. Scruggs and Willie Shuford Scruggs. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dot Carrigan. She was an active member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church and a former Woman of the Moose, Grand Reagent. She was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and was retired from Walmart Pharmacy, Shelby and Rexall–Cornwell Drug, Kings Mountain.

Neil and husband Johnny, Kings Mountain, NC; Janet B. Kennerly and husband Jimmy, Kings Mountain, NC. Sisters: Gaynell Lail, Lake Wylie, SC; Creola Lail, Shelby, NC Pat Houser, Mt. Gilead, NC. and Tinky Scarborough, Kings Mountain, Debbie Fortenberry, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; 6 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

     Tersa Bagwell is the daughter of Charles Leonard Bagwell and Leatha Nadine Scruggs.¹ Tersa Bagwell married Johnny (?) after 1972.¹

     Janet Bagwell is the daughter of Charles Leonard Bagwell and Leatha Nadine Scruggs. Janet Bagwell married Jimmy Kennerly after 1972.

     Ronald Winfred Bagwell was born on 4 June 1952 in South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Reverend Winfred Levi Gaffney Bagwell and Julia Inez Lyerly.¹ Ronald Winfred Bagwell married Margaret Camilla Leonard on 4 January 1975 at Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Ronald Winfred Bagwell died on 22 November 2002 in Shelby, Cleveland County, North Carolina, at age 50.¹ He was buried at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, Cleveland County, North Carolina.¹

     Liza Ruba McCollum was born on 30 August 1915 in Anderson County, South Carolina. As of after 1958,her married name was Bagwell. She married Reverend Winfred Levi Gaffney Bagwell, son of George Adolphus Bagwell and Emma Jane Pace, after 1958. Liza Ruba McCollum died on 30 January 2005 in China Grove, Rowan County, North Carolina, at age 89.

     Bobby Ray Bagwell was born on 27 May 1934 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.¹ He was the son of Willis Barzillie Bagwell and Myrtle Goins.¹ Bobby Ray Bagwell married Jaqueline Busch on 28 November 1951 at Shelby County, Alabama. Bobby Ray Bagwell and Jaqueline Busch were divorced on 17 December 1955 at Shenandoah County, Virginia. Bobby Ray Bagwell married Virginia C. Schaffner on 7 November 1956 at Cook County, Illinois. Bobby Ray Bagwell died on 25 May 1985 in Cook County, Illinois, at age 50.¹ He was buried at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, Cleveland County, North Carolina.¹

     Lovie Estell Haisten was born circa 1924 in Florida. As of 26 March 1939,her married name was Bagwell. She married Kenneth Lee Bagwell, son of James Thomas Bagwell and Dora Jane Dyer, on 26 March 1939. Lovie Estell Haisten and Kenneth Lee Bagwell were divorced in May 1959 at Bradford County, Florida. Lovie Estell Haisten died on 2 December 1996 in Saint Augustine, St. Johns County, Florida.

     JoAnn Bagwell is the daughter of Kenneth Lee Bagwell and Lovie Estell Haisten. JoAnn Bagwell married (?) Hankey after 1960.

     Doris C. (?) married Robert Clarence Bagwell, son of James Thomas Bagwell and Dora Jane Dyer, before 1945.

     Niva Bagwell was born on 20 March 1919 in Alabama. She was the daughter of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone. As of after 1935,her married name was Baldwin. Niva Bagwell married C. C. Baldwin after 1935. Niva Bagwell died on 12 October 2004 at age 85. She was buried at Freeman Methodist Chapel Cemetery, Painter, DeKalb County, Alabama.

     R. C. Bagwell was born on 23 July 1923 in Alabama.¹ He was the son of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone. R. C. Bagwell married Edna (?) in 1944.² R. C. Bagwell died on 6 August 2018 at age 95. He was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama.³

     D. C. Bagwell was also known as Dee Bagwell. He was born on 9 September 1925 in Alabama.¹ He was the son of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone. D. C. Bagwell married Mae (?) before 1953. D. C. Bagwell died on 19 July 2009 in Geraldine, DeKalb County, Alabama, at age 83.¹ He was buried at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Grove Oak, DeKalb County, Alabama.¹

     Ina M. Bagwell is the daughter of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone.

     Joan Bagwell was also known as J. W. Bagwell. He was born on 4 March 1934 in Alabama.¹ He was the son of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone. Joan Bagwell died on 13 September 2004 in Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama, at age 70.¹ He was buried at Marshall Memorial Gardens, Albertville, Marshall County, Alabama.¹

     Verlon J. Bagwell is the son of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone. Verlon J. Bagwell married Wanda (?) after 1950.¹

     Arnold J. Bagwell was born on 14 August 1938 in Alabama.¹ He was the son of James William Monroe Bagwell and Mattie Emaline Malone. Arnold J. Bagwell married Martha Ray Collier in November 1956 at Marshall County, Alabama. Arnold J. Bagwell and Martha Ray Collier were divorced in November 1959. Arnold J. Bagwell died on 12 November 1970 in Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama, at age 32.¹ He was buried at Concord United Baptist Church Cemetery, Hustleville, Marshall County, Alabama.¹

He was born on 12 December 1894 in Gordon County, Georgia, World War I Draft Registration Card lists it as December 12, 1892.¹ He was the son of Chester Elgin Bagwell and Mary Neal.¹ Was a veteran of World War I in the 113th Machine Gun Battalion, of the 30th Division.² Chester Elgin Bagwell married Annie Lee Haggard on 1 June 1921 at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chester Elgin Bagwell died on 19 January 1928 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, at age 33.¹ He was buried at Chattanooga Memorial Park, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.¹
