     Clara Bagwell was born in July 1881 in Missouri. She was the daughter of Unknown Bagwell. As of 30 March 1915,her married name was Snapp. Clara Bagwell married Norman Atwood Snapp on 30 March 1915 at Liberty, Clay County, Missouri. Clara Bagwell and Norman Atwood Snapp lived in 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri. Clara Bagwell and Norman Atwood Snapp lived in 1930 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. Clara Bagwell died in October 1939 in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, at age 58. She was buried at Masonic Cemetery No. 2, New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.

     Norman Atwood Snapp was born on 14 November 1884 in Missouri. He married Clara Bagwell, daughter of Unknown Bagwell, on 30 March 1915 at Liberty, Clay County, Missouri. Norman Atwood Snapp and Clara Bagwell lived in 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri. Norman Atwood Snapp and Clara Bagwell lived in 1930 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. Norman Atwood Snapp died on 5 November 1943 in Natoma, Kansas, at age 58. He was buried at Masonic Cemetery No. 2, New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.

     Florence Bagwell was born in April 1878 in Missouri. She was the daughter of Unknown Bagwell.

     Richard Thomas Bagwell was born on 8 November 1938 in Accomac County, Virginia. He was the son of Isaiah Darius Bagwell and Luvania Ola Justis. Richard Thomas Bagwell married Ruth Ann Goodman on 20 June 1964 at Shiloh United Holiness Church, Asbury, New Jersey. Richard Thomas Bagwell died on 28 April 2023 at age 84

The Lord in his mercy called Richard Thomas Bagwell from labor to reward on Friday April 28, 2023. Richard was born in Accomac, Virginia, on November 8, 1938. He was the second of six children born to Rev. Isaiah D. Bagwell and Luvenia O. (Justis) Bagwell. From his early childhood he was known as his daddy's little "buddy". Hence, he was lovingly called Buddy by his siblings and family his entire life. Although a soft-spoken man of few words, his life spoke volumes.
Richard's formal education began in the Virginia public schools. However, several years after the untimely death of his mother and his youngest sibling, his father, Rev. Bagwell, remarried and the family relocated to Asbury Park New Jersey. The family was blended with their stepmother, Phoebe O. (Pryor) Bagwell. Sometime after their move, Richard became "the man of the family" with the death of his father. He attended Asbury Park High School and worked after school. With the well-being of his family in mind, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served until he was honorably discharged in 1963.
Richard was joined in matrimony to Ruth Ann Goodman on June 20, 1963. They were blessed with two healthy children, Richard Clayton and Robin Teresa. Their relationship didn't come without challenges. Ruth suffered a stroke in 2008 which caused Vascular Dementia. He became her caregiver until he himself began to have health challenges. At the suggestion of their son in-law Clarence and daughter Robin, they relocated to Dover, DE in December 2018 and lived with their family until his departure. He was elated to finally move to Delaware. He loved family and enjoyed the intimate time he got to spend with his grandsons: Immanuel, Samuel, and Josiah, especially on Sundays at church and dinnertime. Brielle (bonus grandaughter) played an intricate role in his care, often assisting whenever or wherever needed. He also cherished time with granddaughter, ShaRhonda, on their trips to one of his favorite spots, Goodwill.
Richard had an impeccable work ethic. He was employed in various capacities in several upscale retail stores including Steinbach's in Eatontown, Pix Shoes in Asbury Park and later in the Waterford Crystal Outlet. He was honored for decades of service with perfect attendance.
Richard gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He was dedicated to serving the Lord, His Church, and His people. He was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Holy Church. When his daughter was sent out to Pastor by Bishop Ralph L. Dennis, he became a foundational member of Kingdom Worship Center, Dover, De under the leadership of his daughter, Pastor Robin. He became head of the Deacons' Board under Bishop Mark White. Deacon Bagwell was unwavering in his commitment to maintaining the house of God. Even after his health and eyesight began to fail and he was no longer able to drive, he could be seen walking unsteadily to and from the church to make certain nothing was left undone. After relocating to Delaware, he became a member of New Hope UHC, under the pastorate of Elder Sarah E. Stevens.
Richard loved flea markets and yard sales and it became a family ritual. His primary interest was to look for board games. He was said to have the world's most extensive collection. His nephew, Curtis J. Moreland, who predeceased him, had begun the process to have Richard's collection authenticated by Guinness Book of World Records. He was also an avid collector of African art and artifacts.
Richard was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in February of 2021. As a result, his health began to decline rapidly, and his care became more challenging. His son Richard moved to Delaware in 2022 to assist with the care of his parents. Richard got the opportunity to spend quality time with all of his grandchildren and extended family. Affectionately known as Poppie to many, he gained bonus children: Joann Reeves (Paul), Charise, Jackie and Stephanie, over the course of his life.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his older sister Gloria Grace and baby brother Alfred Lewis.
Surviving to cherish his memory and continue his legacy of love are his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann Bagwell (Goodman), his son, Richard Clayton and daughter, Robin T. Patterson (Clarence), Dover, DE, three sisters: Dr. M. Monica Sweeney, Brooklyn, NY, Jane M. Moreland (Curtis) Long branch, NJ and Hazel F. Samuels, Tinton Falls, NJ, 11 grandchildren (all who assisted in his care), 13 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by Tucker, his devoted and very protective 4-legged friend and bodyguard.

He was buried at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, Burlington County, New Jersey.

     Ruth Ann Goodman married Richard Thomas Bagwell, son of Isaiah Darius Bagwell and Luvania Ola Justis, on 20 June 1964 at Shiloh United Holiness Church, Asbury, New Jersey.

     Mary Etta Bagwell is the daughter of Isaiah Darius Bagwell and Luvania Ola Justis. Mary Etta Bagwell married (?) Hazel after 1960.

     Hazel Frances Bagwell is the daughter of Isaiah Darius Bagwell and Luvania Ola Justis.

     Jane Mae Bagwell is the daughter of Isaiah Darius Bagwell and Luvania Ola Justis.

     George Henry Bundick was born on 21 May 1915 in Virginia. He married Margaret Bagwell, daughter of Alfred Thomas Bagwell and Roxie Mae Dix, after 1930. George Henry Bundick died on 11 October 1962 in Accomack County, Virginia, at age 47. He was buried at Wharton Cemetery, Parksley, Accomack County, Virginia.

     Ron Stover married Gwen Bagwell, daughter of William E. Bagwell and Marie "Johnnie" Mayfield, after 1970.

     Laura (?) married Darryl Bagwell, son of William E. Bagwell and Marie "Johnnie" Mayfield, after 1970.

     (?) Patterson married Mary Ruth Bagwell, daughter of William Whitmire Bagwell and Ica Ivann Robinson, after 1954.¹

     John Arnold Smith is the son of Ernest Arnold Smith and Freda Ann Bagwell.¹

     Zachary David Smith is the son of John Arnold Smith.¹

     Nathan Carter Smith is the son of John Arnold Smith.¹

     Kimberly Ann Smith is the daughter of Ernest Arnold Smith and Freda Ann Bagwell.¹ Kimberly Ann Smith married Wesley Blair Reber on 9 December 1995.¹

     Wesley Blair Reber married Kimberly Ann Smith, daughter of Ernest Arnold Smith and Freda Ann Bagwell, on 9 December 1995.¹

     Bailey Erin Reber is the son of Wesley Blair Reber and Kimberly Ann Smith.¹

     Vone Tumblin married James Herman “Omar” Bagwell, son of Jesse Herman Bagwell and Mary Catherine Fowler, after 1979.

     Jesse Brandon Bagwell is the son of James Herman “Omar” Bagwell and Vone Tumblin.

     Douglas Austin Bagwell is the son of Jeffrey Ray Bagwell.

     Dora Ann Bagwell was born on 24 June 1942 in South Carolina. She was the daughter of Robert Curtis Bagwell and Alethia Mae Dill. As of 19 May 1962,her married name was Pace. Dora Ann Bagwell married Carlyle Edgar Pace on 19 May 1962 at Greenville, South Carolina. Dora Ann Bagwell died on 15 September 2024 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina, at age 82


Dora "Ann" Pace, 82, of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2024. Born to the late Curtis and Alethia Dill Bagwell, Ann lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and music.

Dora was a longtime member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where she joyfully sang in the choir for many years. Her love of music extended beyond the church as she was a double charter member of Sweet Adelines in both Spartanburg and Greenville, sharing her passion for singing with many.

For 30 years, Dora worked as a secretary in various departments at J.D. Hollingsworth on Wheels, where she formed lasting friendships with her colleagues.

She is survived by her son, Timothy L. Pace (JoAnne) of Pelzer, SC, and her cherished grandchildren: Shad M. Pace of Gray Court, Dustin J. Gilstrap of Pickens, and Kalyn E. Mullaney of Simpsonville. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rita R. Bagwell.

In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her siblings: Helen McKinney, Otis Bagwell, and J. Morris Bagwell; her sister-in-law, Betty Bagwell; and her brother-in-law, Ira Lee McKinney.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 1801 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
