     Marceline Bagwell was born on 19 April 1927 in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Oscar Lee Bagwell and Eula Smith. As of 8 December 1945,her married name was Reed. Marceline Bagwell married Elmo Delroy Reed Jr. on 8 December 1945. Marceline Bagwell died in July 2025 at age 98

Most of you know Marceline's family pretty well. Marceline's parents, Oscar and Eula Bagwell ere residents of Kenedy and the family was longstanding members of the Kenedy Church of Christ until their respective deaths.

Marceline was not born in Kenedy, but grew up here and graduated from Kenedy High School on May 29, 1244. After graduating from high school, she attended Texas State University in San Marcos.

She started dating Elmo Reed after he got of the army. He had also graduated from Kenedy High School. They were married on December 8, 1945. The celebrated their 50th. Wedding anniversary on December 8, 1995. Elmo passed away on October 8, 1997.

Marceline and Elmo lived in Beaumont for a few years and moved to Kingsville. Marceline was the church secretary for the Kingsville church of christ for over 16 years, outlasting at least four preachers that Tom can remember. She retired in 1984 when she and Elmo built their home on the ranch outside of Kenedy

When Tom was young, their house was the one the kids always wanted to go to. Marceline always had drinks, snacks and activities for them. Marceline loved to play bridge, knit, fish, travel and visit with friends and family. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. Every summer she would plan a two or three week trip traveling cross country in their travel trailer. After the trip, Marceline and Tom would stay in the trailer at the Fulton Trailer Park. They would spend the rest of the summer fishing and enjoying beach life. Elmo would come and spend weekends with them.

As time went on, and the grandsons came along, she enjoyed spending time with them, and attending various school functions. Lee, Koby and Niall will always remember all of the special holidays that were spent with her.

Marceline lived a long faith life. One of the last conversations she had was asking about how the sermon was that morning. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and is now at home with Elmo and the others relatives and friends that have gone before her.


She was buried at Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy, Karnes County, Texas.

     Elmo Delroy Reed Jr. was born in 1923 in Texas. He married Marceline Bagwell, daughter of Oscar Lee Bagwell and Eula Smith, on 8 December 1945. Elmo Delroy Reed Jr. died in 1997.

     (?) Hazel married Mary Etta Bagwell, daughter of Isaiah Darius Bagwell and Luvania Ola Justis, after 1960.

     Betty Lou Bagwell is the daughter of Isiah Bagwell and Rosa Byrd. Betty Lou Bagwell married Julius Upshur on 19 March 1957 at Onancock, Accomack County, Virginia.

     Joshua A. Bagwell is the son of William Kenneth Bagwell and Elizabeth Jane Benjamin.

     Drew Bagwell is the son of William Kenneth Bagwell and Elizabeth Jane Benjamin.

     Bethany G. Bagwell is the daughter of William Kenneth Bagwell and Elizabeth Jane Benjamin.

     George Franklin Treburn married Theodosia Pettit on 23 July 1893 at Accomack County, Virginia.

     Herman Lester Bagwell was also known as Herman Toppin. He was born in February 1899 in Accomack County, Virginia, Death certificate lists date of birth as December 25, 1900 and place of birth as Pocomoke, Maryland. He was the son of William Bagwell and Ella (?) Herman Lester Bagwell married Bella M. Chandler on 20 December 1917 at Accomack County, Virginia. Herman Lester Bagwell married Cora Cope. Herman Lester Bagwell died on 22 March 1962 in Quincy, Franklin County, Pennsylvannia, at age 63. He was buried on 29 March 1962 at Mountain Lawn Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia.

     William Bagwell was born in March 1870 in Virginia. He married Ella (?) in 1897.

     Ella (?) was born in July 1881 in Virginia. She married William Bagwell in 1897. As of 1897,her married name was Bagwell. As of 23 December 1908,her married name was Toppin. Ella (?) married Thomas Toppin on 23 December 1908 at Onancock, Virginia.

     Cora Cope married Herman Lester Bagwell, son of William Bagwell and Ella (?).

     Bella M. Chandler was born in July 1899 in Virginia. As of 20 December 1917,her married name was Bagwell. She married Herman Lester Bagwell, son of William Bagwell and Ella (?), on 20 December 1917 at Accomack County, Virginia.

     Marie Bagwell is the daughter of Herman Lester Bagwell and Bella M. Chandler.

     Thomas Toppin was born circa 1882 in Accomack County, Virginia. He married Ella (?) on 23 December 1908 at Onancock, Virginia.

     Emeline Dickerson married George M. Bagwell, son of George Bagwell and Theodosia Pettit, on 29 September 1901 at Accomack County, Virginia.

     Neva Constance Bagwell was born on 30 March 1910 in Baltimore City, Maryland. She was the daughter of John Watson Bagwell and Neva Constance Arther. As of 27 November 1933,her married name was Meeth. Neva Constance Bagwell married John Thomas Meeth on 27 November 1933 at Richmond, Virginia. Neva Constance Bagwell died on 29 May 1988 in Baltimore City, Maryland, at age 78. She was buried on 1 June 1988 at Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland.

     John Thomas Meeth was born on 14 October 1895 in Maryland. He married Neva Constance Bagwell, daughter of John Watson Bagwell and Neva Constance Arther, on 27 November 1933 at Richmond, Virginia. John Thomas Meeth died on 24 January 1974 at age 78. He was buried at Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland.

     James Bagwell is the son of John Steven Bagwell and Gloria M. Flury. James Bagwell married Tammy (?) after 1993.

     John Steven Bagwell JR was born in September 1974. He was the son of John Steven Bagwell and Gloria M. Flury. John Steven Bagwell JR married Maddie (?) after 1993. John Steven Bagwell JR lived in 2025 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

     Blaze Bagwell is the son of John Steven Bagwell JR and Maddie (?)
