     Ernest Reed Bagwell Jr. was born on 22 September 1924 in Parksley, Accomack County, Virginia. He was the son of Ernest Reed Bagwell and Tabitha White. He served as a SIM1 in the US Navy during World War II. Ernest Reed Bagwell Jr. married Rosetta Griffin before 1946. Ernest Reed Bagwell Jr. died on 14 March 1995 in Verteran's Hospital, Elsmere, Delaware, at age 70. He was buried on 18 March 1995 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, New Castle County, Delaware.

     Lorenzo Bagwell was born on 29 May 1926 in Virginia.¹ He was the son of Ernest Reed Bagwell and Tabitha White.¹ Lorenzo Bagwell died on 27 September 1935 at age 9 killed instantly while crossing the road. He was hit by an automobile.¹ He was buried on 29 September 1935 at Whitesville, Virginia.¹

On Wednesday evening, May 27, 2020, after a long period of declining health, her Lord and Savior called our precious mother home. Helen M. Bagwell, 94, was born August 24, 1925, in Spartanburg County, SC, to James E. and Alma Seay Mason. On February 14, 1942, she married the love of her life, Frank M. Bagwell and they had 54 ½ beautiful years together before his passing in 1996. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and retired as manager from Top Value Enterprises.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Connie B. Nelson and her son, Matt Bagwell. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kelly Gilbert, Matthew Bagwell (Haley), and Byars Bagwell (Sydney Achee); and one great-grandchild, Luke Gilbert; as well as her much-loved caregiver, Jennifer Owens. Also surviving is her brother, Robert S. Mason and his wife, Alice of Conyers, GA. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Howard, Roy, Eunice, Gertrude, and her dearest Marion and Pauline.
We take comfort in knowing what great joy there is in Heaven today.
We would like to express much appreciation to Interim Healthcare Hospice for their loving care; especially Teresa, Tori, and Chaplain Scott Linnerud. Also, heartfelt gratitude to the Hilltop Fire Department for their many acts of kindness over the years in taking care of our family.
A graveside service, with social distancing, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 1, 2020, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Glenn Rusher.

     Clifton Weaver Chapman was born on 21 February 1915. He married Fay Bagwell, daughter of William Lee Bagwell and Jerusha Malinda Haynes, after 1930. Clifton Weaver Chapman died on 9 March 1998 in Clyde, Haywood County, North Carolina, at age 83.

     Betty Jean Daniel was born in 1934. As of after 1950,her married name was Bagwell. She married James Martin Bagwell, son of Virgil Lee Bagwell and Mabel Beatman, after 1950. Betty Jean Daniel died in 2014. She was buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri.

     Jim V. Bagwell is the son of James Martin Bagwell and Betty Jean Daniel.

     Jeff Bagwell is the son of James Martin Bagwell and Betty Jean Daniel.

     Kathy Ann Bagwell was born in 1957. She was the daughter of James Martin Bagwell and Betty Jean Daniel. Kathy Ann Bagwell died in 1993. She was buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri.

     Fannie Mae Williams was born on 8 February 1938.¹ As of after 1950,her married name was Bagwell. She married Raymond Walton Bagwell, son of Reverend Rayford McCager Bagwell and Agnes Odell Pittman, after 1950. Fannie Mae Williams died on 5 February 2021 in Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia, at age 82


Fannie Mae Bagwell, age 82, of Canton, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Raymond Walton Bagwell; her parents, John and Evangeline Williams; son-in-law, Rev. Danny Hicks; grandchild, Brandon Cole Bagwell; infant great grandson and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and three sons, 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 7th at 3:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Pete Martin, Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. Michael Green officiating. Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

     Merle Joan Furu was born on 12 August 1936 in Minnesota. As of 12 March 1958,her married name was Bagwell. She married Robert Murray Bagwell, son of John Murray Bagwell and Anna Shenk, on 12 March 1958 at St. Louis, Minnesota. As of 25 November 1982,her married name was Vandenheede. Merle Joan Furu married Mark Robert Vandenheede on 25 November 1982 at Clark County, Nevada. As of after 1983,her married name was Thrapp. Merle Joan Furu married Burdetta L. Thrapp after 1983. Merle Joan Furu died on 29 August 2003 at age 67. She was buried at Fairbury Cemetery, Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska.

     Carolyn LaVerne Bagwell was born on 18 October 1929 in Louisiana.¹ She was the daughter of Vollie Lanoma (Jack) Bagwell and Eunice Rush.¹ As of after 1945,her married name was Mitton. Carolyn LaVerne Bagwell married Reverend Gerald Alexander Mitton after 1945 at West Monroe, Louisiana. Carolyn LaVerne Bagwell died on 21 February 2013 at age 83
Mrs. Carolyn Bagwell Mitton, 83, of Jefferson, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 21, 2013. Mrs. Mitton was born in Downsville, Louisiana, a daughter of the late Vollie Jack Bagwell and the late Eunice Rush Bagwell.
Mrs. Mitton along with her husband, began ministering at Faith Baptist Church in Jefferson in 1961 where she taught Sunday School for forty plus years, served as a Missionary for the Virgin Islands, and was Dean of Women at Tennessee Temple University. Mrs. Mitton obtained her Masters in Science and Divinity, and was a lifelong educator having taught school in the Jefferson City Schools, Athens Christian School and retiring with the Jackson County School System. She loved her family and loved her Church. "Your walk talks, and your talk talks, but let your walk talk louder than your talk talks."
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mitton is preceded in death by her grandchildren, Alex Mitton, Holly Fouche and Tiffany Pullman and a sister Gloria Jane Bagwell.
Survivors include husband, Dr. Gerald Mitton, Jefferson, daughters and son in laws, Miriam and Roger Taylor, Morgantown, KY, Susan and David Fouche, Jefferson, son and daughter in law, Mark and Amy Mitton, Jasper, 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2pm in the Faith Baptist Church in Jefferson with Rev. Terry Wofford and Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. The burial will be in the Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-7pm in the Faith Baptist Church, 2081 U.S. 129 Business, Jefferson, GA 30549.

He married Carolyn LaVerne Bagwell, daughter of Vollie Lanoma (Jack) Bagwell and Eunice Rush, after 1945 at West Monroe, Louisiana. He arrived in the United States in 16 August 1955. Reverend Gerald Alexander Mitton was naturalized on 17 December 1973 at Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. He died on 14 May 2015 in Jefferson, Georgia, at age 87. He was buried at Woodbine-Jefferson City Cemetery, Jefferson, Jackson County, Georgia.
