GREENVILLE, SC - Helen Bagwell Allen, 85, formerly of 1 Templewood Drive, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2007.
Born in Easley, Mrs. Allen was the widow of Joe R. Allen and the daughter of the late Giles Leon and Lucia Mae Capps Bagwell. She was retired from Her Majesty, where she was employed for 42 years. She was a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Madden of Fountain Inn; a grandson, Joey Page of Fountain Inn; a great-granddaughter, Tara E. Holmes and her companion, Richard Baker of Spartanburg; two great-great-grandchildren, Logan Taylor Tay and Madison McKinley Baker; two sisters, Lucille B. Smith of Greenville, and Juanita Lawson of Dacusville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007, in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation prior to the service from noon until 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West.

He taught school from 1948 to 1978 and was Superintendent of Education for Fayette County Schools in Summerville, Tenn., from 1968 to 1978. He was a graduate of Lambert High School, attended Northwest Community College then received his master's degree from Mississippi State University. He was a lifetime amateur radio operator and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Cobb, the Rev. Joey Hamilton and the Rev. Jim Pinkerton officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Boydstun Bagwell of Bruce, whom he married Nov. 22, 1950; one son, James Bagwell and wife, Domi, of Memphis; two daughters, Mary Hunsucker and husband, Andy, of Summerville, Tenn., and Ruth Murray and husband, Thomas, of Bartlett, Tenn; 14 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ina Massey and James Doyle Bagwell.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hunsucker, Adam Hunsucker, Chadwick Carwile, Daniel Murray, Andrew Bagwell and Benjamin Bagwell.2
