Mrs. Hazel Huffman Bagwell, 70, of Kilmichael passed away December 6, at Kilmichael Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Attala County and was married to the late Lloyd Bagwell. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Ruth Biggers of Kilmichael; one brother, Wilbert R. Huffman of Brookhaven; also 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

Rev. Phillip Bray assisted by Mr. Dan Beardain held services at Kilmichael Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 8. Burial was in Kilmichael Cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Fred Huffman, Tommy Biggers, Bill Barham, Frank Surles, Bill Hodges and Marvel Morgan.

Oaties Waymon Bagwell, 77, of Gainesville, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 surrounded by family.

Waymon was born on January 31, 1944 in Sherman, Texas, one of nine children born to James Oaties and Lona Mildred (Latham) Bagwell. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. Waymon worked and retired from the oilfields of North Texas. He was a member of the VFW post 1922 in Gainesville since 1980. He enjoyed watching old westerns, messing with his cows, working on the farm, short visits with friends and family and sitting outside with a cold drink and his dog Sassy. Waymon was a man who enjoyed living the simple life on his farm. He had a big loving family, one who enjoyed being around him and learning from him.

He is survived by his son, Orland Bagwell and wife, Laura of Sadler; daughter, Starla Tipps and partner, Dale Meadows of Ponca City, OK; daughter, Kim McClinton and husband, Johnny of Gainesville; grandchildren; Kima Dawn Lee and husband, Dewayne of Ardmore, Ok; Joshua Milan and fiancée Jaylene Stolting of Callisburg; Amanda Bagwell of Irving; Jeremy Milan of Callisburg; Brittany Bagwell of Frisco; Jeffery McClinton and wife, Karley of Callisburg; great-granddaughter, Jocelyne Mayzie Milan and another great-grandchild due this year, brother Wendell Bagwell and wife, Evelyn; brother, Wayland Bagwell; brother-in-law, Johnny Crisp and wife, Faye; brother-in-law, Billy Joe Crisp; sister-in-law, Barbara Bratcher and husband, Ray; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service honoring Waymon will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Larry Eberhart. No formal visitation is scheduled.1

Carolyn was born on November 16, 1946 in Gainesville, Texas to JP and Dollie (Wilson) Crisp. She was a hostess and waitress for many years at the Wooden Spoon restaurant in Lindsay, Texas and worked for Wal-Mart in Gainesville up until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking for her family. She enjoyed sports, especially her Dallas Cowboys, but loved watching and cheering on her grandchildren at all of their sporting events.

She is survived by her husband, Waymon Bagwell of Callisburg; daughter, Starla Tipps and partner, Dale Meadows of Ponca City, OK; daughter, Kim McClinton and husband, Johnny of Callisburg; son, Orland Bagwell and wife, Laura of Sadler; grandchildren, Kima Dawn Lee and husband, Dewayne of Ardmore; Joshua Milan and Jaylene Stolting of Callisburg; Jeremy Milan of Callisburg; Jeffery McClinton and wife, Karley of Callisburg, Amanda Bagwell of Irving and Brittany Bagwell of Frisco; great-granddaughter, Jocelyne Mayzie Milan, brother, Johnny Crisp and wife, Faye, brother Billy Joe Crisp, sister, Barbara Bratcher and husband, Ray, special nephew Red Crisp, as well as many other loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, JP and Dollie Crisp, brother, Raymond Crisp, sister, Betty Gilliland and sister, Patricia Nix.

A memorial service honoring Carolyn will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated Rev. Larry Eberhart. At this time no formal visitation is scheduled.

She was cremated after 9 July 2020.

A service to celebrate the life of Dorothy (Dot) Nell Bagwell is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Ford Memorial Chapel in First Baptist Church in Lubbock, with Dr. Paul Armes officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Agape Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday to fellowship and remember her 79 years of life. Saturday afternoon, the family will receive guests, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the home of Troy and Jennifer Burke, 8805 Salem Ave, Lubbock.

Dorothy (Dot) was born February 24, 1932 in Bruceville, Texas, to the late W.D. and Gladys Turner, of Lubbock. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1949, attended Texas Tech before graduating from the University Of Texas School Of Nursing in Galveston. She married the late E. Bruce Bagwell on December 21, 1953, and they lived together in Lubbock until his death.

Dot was a Registered Nurse and served as office nurse, for at least 10 years, for Dr. R. C. Douglas and in a variety of settings and hospitals in Lubbock, Madisonville, El Paso and Austin, TX, Little Rock, AR, Fayetteville, NC, Charleston, SC and Albuquerque, NM. She completed her nursing career specializing in pediatric intensive care nursing. In addition to nursing, Dot also did advanced studies in cultural anthropology at Texas Tech. She did field research in Mezzo-American culture in the Yucatan and Polynesian culture in the South Pacific. Dot was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Lubbock. She was an avid reader, loved music, art, and taking her grandchildren on cruises.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce, and her son, Barton J. (Sandy) Bagwell.

She is survived by three children, the Reverend Dr. Tom Knowles-Bagwell and wife Elizabeth of Nashville, Tenn., Jane A. Powell and husband Gordon of Austin and Sally L. Walker and husband Robert of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Amanda N. Powell of Austin, John T. Knowles-Bagwell of St. Louis, Mo., and Anna E. Knowles-Bagwell of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by her brothers, Roy Turner and wife Nelda and Wayne Turner of Lubbock, Jim Turner of Spring, Texas; one sister, Pat Anderson and husband Paul of Wolfforth; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends at Ventura Place.
