Hardy (Hardie) Bryant Bagwell died on 6 September 1935 in Cary, Wake County, North Carolina, at age 83.² He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.

     Melissa Bagwell was also known as Mallissa Bagwell. She was born circa 1854 in Wake County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of William Sidney Bagwell and Nancy Britt. As of 11 March 1874,her married name was Upchurch. Melissa Bagwell married John Rufus Upchurch on 11 March 1874 at Wake County, North Carolina. Melissa Bagwell died before 1900.
