Margaret Bagwell Lollis, 70, of 165 Hagood St., died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital.
Mrs. Lollis was born in PickensCounty, and was the daughter of the late George A. Bagwell Sr. and Cora Cassell Bagwell Thomas.
Mrs. Lollis was a retired nursing home administrator with Blue Ridge Nursing Home and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She was a charter member of Pickens County Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses, a former member of South Carolina Healthcare Association and a former member of Easley Professional Business Women's Association, American College of Health Care Administrators.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Lollis Merritt of Easley, Vicki Lollis Major of Aiken, and Tammie Lollis Mitchell of Edgemoor; one son, Jerry Lollis, of Simpsonville; one sister, Juanita L. Entrekin, of Ocala, Fla; sister-in-law, Helen Bagwell, of Easley; nine grandchildren, Lance Lollis, Stephanie Brown, Corrie Beth Martin, Matthew Merritt, Jennifer Merritt, Blake Mitchell, Evan Mitchell, Timmy Major and Grant Major; and two great-grandchildren, Aiyanna Lollis and Bryson Martin.
Mrs. Lollis was predeceased by one son, Chuck Lollis; one sister, Blanch B. Hendrix; and two brothers, L. Lafayette Bagwell and George Albert Bagwell Jr.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at 4 p.m. at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation immediately following.

     Blanche Bagwell was born on 14 September 1916 in South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. Her married name was Hendrix. Blanche Bagwell married Cleo Esley Hendrix. Blanche Bagwell died on 1 April 1980 at age 63. She was buried at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.

     Cleo Esley Hendrix was born on 13 November 1909. He married Blanche Bagwell, daughter of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. Cleo Esley Hendrix died on 15 September 1985 at age 75.

     Luther Lafayette Bagwell was also known as Lafayette Bagwell.¹ He was born on 16 December 1924 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. Luther Lafayette Bagwell married Sarah Helen Rice. He was a US Navy veteran serving during World War II. Luther Lafayette Bagwell died on 5 August 1999 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 74.² He was buried on 7 August 1999 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens County, South Carolina.²

     Sarah Helen Rice was born on 20 March 1926 in Greenville County, South Carolina. Her married name was Bagwell. She married Luther Lafayette Bagwell, son of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. Sarah Helen Rice died on 25 September 2015 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 89 Sarah Helen Rice Bagwell, 89, widow of Luther Lafayette Bagwell, passed from this life on , September 25, 2015 at The Magnolias in Easley.

Mrs. Bagwell was born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late John Nathaniel and Mamie Estelle Hendricks Rice. She was retired from Easley Textiles, was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church and attended Tabor United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Lane Short (John) of Easley and her son, Danny (Bo) Bagwell (Gail) of Easley. Grandchildren include, LaSonya Bagwell, Brad Short (Tiffany), Kerri McKinney (David), and Steven Brown and great grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Short, Addison Short, Landan McKinney, and Sadie McKinney.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bagwell was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Joyce Brown.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. She was buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina.

     George Albert Bagwell Jr. was born on 5 July 1922 in South Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. He was a Private in the US Army during World War II.² George Albert Bagwell Jr. married Evelyn Crum on 2 February 1946 at Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.³ George Albert Bagwell Jr. died on 9 March 1993 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 70.² He was buried at Arial United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pickens County, South Carolina.²

     Juanita L. Bagwell was born on 4 June 1919 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. Her married name was Entrekin. Juanita L. Bagwell married James Thompson Entrekin. Juanita L. Bagwell died on 27 September 2009 in Ocala, Marion County, Florida, at age 90. She was buried at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala, Marion County, Florida.

     James Thompson Entrekin was born on 2 March 1915 in South Carolina. He married Juanita L. Bagwell, daughter of George Albert Bagwell and Cora Cassell. James Thompson Entrekin died on 17 July 1998 in Marion County, Florida, at age 83. He was buried at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala, Marion County, Florida.

     Elizabeth Spearman was born on 21 March 1877.¹ Her married name was Bagwell. She married Monroe Mastin Bagwell, son of Frederick Bagwell and Samantha Caroline Callaham.^2,1 Elizabeth Spearman died on 15 March 1965 at age 87.¹ She was buried on 17 March 1965 at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Andrew Walker Bagwell was born on 23 May 1915 in Anderson, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. Andrew Walker Bagwell married Willine Leeila Moody after 1930. He served as a SFC in the US Army. Andrew Walker Bagwell died on 13 December 1987 in Riverside, Riverside County, California, at age 72.¹ He was buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside County, California.¹

     Beatrice Ann Bagwell was born on 16 June 1907.¹ She was the daughter of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. Beatrice Ann Bagwell married James Daniel Hudgens on 1 June 1940 at Anderson, South Carolina. As of 1 June 1940,her married name was Hudgens. Beatrice Ann Bagwell died on 28 January 2002 at age 94.¹ She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.¹

     Frederick Bagwell was born on 23 January 1905.¹ He was the son of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. Frederick Bagwell married Ida Marie Wilson on 1 April 1927 at South Carolina. Frederick Bagwell died on 19 May 1985 in South Carolina at age 80.¹ He was buried at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     James Luther Bagwell was born on 14 August 1896.¹ He was the son of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. He served as a Private in the 3rd Regiment Field Artillery Replacement Depot during World War I. James Luther Bagwell married Mildred Evangeline Wright on 28 December 1918 at Anderson, South Carolina. James Luther Bagwell died on 27 February 1960 in Anderson, South Carolina, at age 63.¹ He was buried at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Thelma Jacob Bagwell was born on 19 February 1903. She was the daughter of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. Thelma Jacob Bagwell married Robert Haddon Tate on 24 December 1925. As of 24 December 1925,her married name was Tate. Thelma Jacob Bagwell died on 26 April 1968 at age 65.

     Ruth Iola Bagwell was born on 20 March 1901 in Anderson County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. Her married name was Tolly. Ruth Iola Bagwell married G. Fred Tolly. Ruth Iola Bagwell died on 24 January 2002 in Anderson County, South Carolina, at age 100.¹ She was buried on 26 January 2002 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     G. Fred Tolly married Ruth Iola Bagwell, daughter of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman.

     Anna Louise Bagwell was born on 8 March 1911 in Anderson County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Monroe Mastin Bagwell and Elizabeth Spearman. As of 27 December 1930,her married name was Ashley. Anna Louise Bagwell married Bernum Benjamin Ashley on 27 December 1930. Anna Louise Bagwell died on 5 July 2001 in Greenville County, South Carolina, at age 90
Ann (Bagwell) Ashley, 90, of Greenville, SC, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Oakmont East Nursing Center after a long illness.

Born in Anderson County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Monroe Maston and Elizabeth (Spearman) Bagwell.

A homemaker, she was a 60-year member of First Baptist Church of Greenville where she was a member of the Loyalty Sunday School Class, taught children's Sunday School for many years, and was a member of the Exchangettes.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, B. B. Ashley; three sons and daughters-in-law, B. B. "Bernum" and Jean Ashley Jr. of Inman, Monroe M. and Roberta Ashley of Brevard, N.C., and Louis and B. J. Ashley of Greenville; two sisters, Ruth Tolly of Williamston, S.C., and Bea Hudgens of Florence; a brother, Martin Bagwell of Williamston; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, July 7, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Greenville with Dr. Baxter Wynn officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Carolyn Gaillard Bagwell, 88, of 705 Welcome Road, widow of Martin Monroe Bagwell, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at her home.

Born in Piercetown, Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Walter DuPre and Anna Wilson Gaillard. She was an elementary school teacher, and taught most of her forty years in School District 1 of Anderson County. She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, where she taught the Young Adult Women's Sunday School Class for over twenty years, and was a former active member of the WMU and the choir.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Bagwell, of Williamston; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Grover Owings, of Powdersville, Debbie and Woody Thrasher, of Anderson; grandchildren, Nicole and Lee Lawless, Dana and Chris Holt, Zach Thrasher, Jake Thrasher; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lauren Smart, Walker Lawless and Nick Holt.

She was predeceased by sisters, Mae Griffith, Geneva Owen, Ettie Stone; and brothers, Lawrence Gaillard, Palmer Gaillard and Walter Gaillard.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Beaverdam Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jimmie Farmer and the Rev. Gene Burdette. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church, prior to the service.

     Mary Ellen Winslett was born on 28 November 1932 in Pickens County, South Carolina.¹ Her married name was Bagwell. She married Bobby Joe Bagwell, son of Ora Bruce Bagwell and Lillie Maude Owens, after 1945. Mary Ellen Winslett died on 24 May 2016 in Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina, at age 83
Mary Ellen Winslett Bagwell, lifelong resident of Easley, born on November 29, 1932, was the daughter of the late Horace Winslett and Katherine Ballentine Winslett. She passed away at home on May 24, 2016 after a long and valiant battle with lung cancer.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Bobby Joe Bagwell, in 2000. Also predeceasing her were two sisters, Helen W. Lynes and Eme W. Smith, and two brothers, Horace Lee Winslett, Jr. and Walter "Pop" Almon Winslett.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, John Walter Bagwell of Mauldin, SC; daughter, Ellen Ethridge and son-in-law, Tim Ethridge of Easley; two precious grandchildren, Mary Magill and Cole Ethridge. Also surviving are two sisters, Catherine W. Brown of Easley and Dora H. Twiford (Doc) of Concord, NC, and a brother Jimmy Winslett (Jo Ann) of Easley; sisters-in-law, Lorna Winslett, Evelyn B. McEntyre (Mac), and Nancy G. Bagwell (Charles - deceased); brother-in-law, Larry D. Bagwell (Lunita).

GREENWOOD — Charles Furman Bagwell, husband of Nancy Bagwell, of 25 Royal Oak Drive, formally of Easley, passed away November 25, 2006, in Lexington, SC.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Bruce Bagwell and Maude Owens Bagwell. Mr. Bagwell was a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. Degree, graduate of Executive Development of USC, he was formally a Vice President of Kent Manufacturing in Pickens, former member of the board of Pickens County Country Club, member of Easley Lions Club, 30 year member of Easley First United Methodist Church and currently a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Maria Bagwell Ellison of Lexington; son, Joseph Bagwell and wife, Sharon Hughes, of Greenwood; sister, Evelyn McEnytre of Easley; brother, Larry Bagwell of Easley; five grandchildren, Megan Bagwell, Anna Greer Bagwell, Adrienne Bagwell, Timothy Joseph Scott, Charles Daniel Scott.

A brother, Bobby Bagwell predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at Easley First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Corell officiating.

A reception will follow at the church fellowship hall.

The family is at the home of Larry Bagwell, 505 Laurel Road, Easley, SC.

     Larry Dean "Coach" Bagwell was born on 24 January 1937 in Pickens County, South Carolina. He was the son of Ora Bruce Bagwell and Lillie Maude Owens. Larry Dean "Coach" Bagwell married Lunita Garrett after 1945. Larry Dean "Coach" Bagwell died on 17 September 2021 at age 84


Mr. Larry Dean "Coach" Bagwell, 84, husband of Lunita Garrett "Lu" Bagwell, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, September 17, 2021.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Ola Bruce Bagwell and the late Lillie Maude Owens Bagwell, Mr. Bagwell was a 1955 graduate of Easley High School where he excelled in football being both quarterback and lineman. He later received his Master's degree from Clemson University where he played baseball and participated in the College World Series two years in a row. His college baseball career lead him to play semi-pro ball for the Washington Senators in the Florida State League.

Mr. Bagwell coached football at Easley High School from 1967 to 1992 where he lead the Green Waves to two State Championships. Not only was he inducted to the Easley High School Hall of fame, he was also inducted into the South Carolina Coaches Hall of Fame. His coaching accomplishments and leadership lead him to receive many awards, and having a gym and ball field named in his honor.

Mr. Bagwell served as Councilman for the City of Easley for three decades and Mayor from 2008 to 2019. During his term, Mayor Bagwell worked closely with city council and city employees on revitalizing the downtown area, including the West End District and developing the Doodle Trail. In his last term, Mayor Bagwell was awarded the Order of the Palmetto for his service and leadership to Easley.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of sixty-four years, are his two daughters, Terri Bagwell Knight and Lou Anne Bagwell Johnson (Joe), both of Easley; His sister, Evelyn B. McEntyre (Verlon) of Easley; four grandchildren, Kasi Wilson (Charlie), Michael Dillon Knight, Jessica Johnson and Jeremy Johnson (Faith); four great-grandchildren, Garrett Wilson, Cayden Ballard, Cooper Wilson and Clark Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Bella. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bagwell was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby Bagwell and Charles Bagwell.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Monday, September 20, 2021 at Easley First United Methodist Church. Private entombment will take place in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
