She married Louie Wayne Bagwell, son of Harvie Jay Bagwell and Lorine Lavere McQuay, on 9 March 1968 at Wynne, Oklahoma. Wilma Lee Bagwell, 73, of Powhatan passed from this life on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born on October 28, 1949 to the late Raymond Clarence and Ethel Jewel (Taylor) Coursey in Jonesboro. She was united in marriage to Louie Bagwell on March 9, 1968 in Wynne. During her lifetime, Wilma was a homemaker, babysat, a housekeeper, worked in the Black Rock cafeteria, and a hostess at the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative. Wilma was everyone’s champion and loved everyone with her whole heart. She was adored by her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God in Cabot.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son in law, Rick Burns.

She is survived by her husband, Louie Bagwell of the home; her children, Lachelle Burns of Powhatan; Cynthia Kinder of Powhatan; Julie (David) Flugrad of Paragould; Melanie (Wade) Spence of Imboden, Blaine (Haley) Bagwell of Jonesboro; brothers, Lester Coursey, Lesley Coursey, both of Tontitown; sisters, Darlene Koch of Rogers and Lois (Clifford) Crawley of Springdale; grandchildren, Tiffany (Reuben) Vance, Cheyanne (Tom) Carley, Dallas (Emily) Burns, Emery Spence, Zeke Spence, Erin (Cliff) Henley, Corrie Ramsey, Emily Flugrad; great-grandchildren, Elim, Everhett, Ezra, Finley, Berkley, Cohen, C. J., Meica, Collin, Caleb and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be, Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. with the service to begin at 4 p.m. all at The Rock in Jonesboro with Darren Verbout officiating. Interment will be in Johnson Cemetery in Cash under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dallas Burns, Wade Spence, James Darren Coursey, Clifford Crawley, Josh Crawley, Shawn Crawley.

     Eddie Wayne O'Dell was born in 1962. He married Lynn Bagwell, daughter of James Robert “Jim” Bagwell and Paite Coggins, circa 1991. Eddie Wayne O'Dell died on 7 December 2011. He was buried at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     Ernest Feltman married Doris Bagwell, daughter of Luther Broadus Bagwell and Gladys Bell Holland, after 1946.

     Walter Wayne Bagwell is the son of Walter Daniel Bagwell and Julia Faye Sullivan.

     Joan Claudia Combs was born on 16 June 1947 in Berea, Kentucky. As of after 1962,her married name was Bagwell. She married Larry Monroe Bagwell, son of Walter Hoyt Bagwell and Frances Monroe Gittens, after 1962. Joan Claudia Combs died on 24 January 2024 in Buford, Georgia, at age 76


Joan C. Bagwell, aged 76, of Buford, GA, departed this life on January 24, 2024. Born on June 16, 1947, in Berea, KY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Francis Combs. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Joan was the epitome of love and generosity, characterized by her unwavering kindness and diligent work ethic.
Deeply cherished and survived by her loving children, Franci Sharpton, Jeff O'Neal, and Matthew Bagwell; son-in-law, Eddy Sharpton; daughter-in-law, Denise Bagwell; and adored grandchildren, Avery Bagwell, Camden Bagwell, and Matthew Cooper Bagwell. She leaves behind her dear sister Bobbie Stone and her husband, Mark Stone. Joan was predeceased by the Love of Her Life, her beloved husband, Larry Bagwell and her devoted parents.
Joan's professional life was marked by a distinguished career in residential real estate development. Imparting her touch of grace and resilience in her field she utilized her skills and expertise to create beautiful spaces for others to enjoy. She had a fond affinity for antiques and interior decorating, pursuits that reflected her creative spirit and appreciation for the richness of history and craftsmanship.
A Service to celebrate the Life of Joan C. Bagwell will be held at 2:00 pm Friday January 26, 2024 from the chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday January 26, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Byrd and Flanigan Crematory & Funeral Service, Lawrenceville.
