Deeply cherished and survived by her loving children, Franci Sharpton, Jeff O'Neal, and Matthew Bagwell; son-in-law, Eddy Sharpton; daughter-in-law, Denise Bagwell; and adored grandchildren, Avery Bagwell, Camden Bagwell, and Matthew Cooper Bagwell. She leaves behind her dear sister Bobbie Stone and her husband, Mark Stone. Joan was predeceased by the Love of Her Life, her beloved husband, Larry Bagwell and her devoted parents.
Joan's professional life was marked by a distinguished career in residential real estate development. Imparting her touch of grace and resilience in her field she utilized her skills and expertise to create beautiful spaces for others to enjoy. She had a fond affinity for antiques and interior decorating, pursuits that reflected her creative spirit and appreciation for the richness of history and craftsmanship.
A Service to celebrate the Life of Joan C. Bagwell will be held at 2:00 pm Friday January 26, 2024 from the chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday January 26, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Byrd and Flanigan Crematory & Funeral Service, Lawrenceville.

Her mother and best friend Irene Townsend (William) of Moundville, AL. Her three beautiful grandchildren Brooklin Nicole Allen, Graylin Ray Bagwell and James Ridge Bagwell of Hueytown, AL. Her beloved uncle David Ray Williams (Deanna) of Vestavia, AL. Her only niece Valancie Leane Dye of Northport, AL and her Sister-in-law Vanessa Bagwell Dye (Bruce) of Northport, AL. Her Mother-in-law and travel companion Jean Earnest Bagwell of Berry, AL.
Holly was married for 37 years to her soulmate and even after all those years they were
still in love. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, nana, aunt and friend. People will
remember that she always had a beautiful smile that could light up a room. None of us
remember her being sad or discouraged because she had such a joyful personality. There are people in our lives that we cannot imagine life without, Holly was one of those people. We know that she is in a better place and that one day we will be able to see her again, but we really wish she could have stayed with us a little longer. She always stayed in touch with her family, friends and the people in her community. All of us will deeply miss her weekly text messages and phone calls. Holly loved spending time with her grandkids whether it was a sleepover or a day visit, they always brightened her day. She was one of those people that never met a stranger, every time she met someone new they became a lifelong friend. Holly will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
