She was the daughter of John Sylvester Bagwell and Rebecca Delilah Harp. As of after 1952,her married name was Martin. Peggy Jean Bagwell married (?) Martin after 1952. As of 28 December 1970,her married name was Ussery. Peggy Jean Bagwell married Floyd Eugene Ussery on 28 December 1970 at Anna, Illinois. SCOTT CITY -- Patsy Ussery, 53, of Springfield, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born April 21, 1943, at Sikeston, daughter of John S. and Rebecca D. Harp Bagwell Sr.

She and Floyd Eugene Ussery were married Dec. 28, 1970, in Anna, Ill.
Ussery was a customer service clerk at Wal-Mart. She was a member of ABF Wives Club, VFW Auxiliary to Post 6407 at Scott City, and St. Mark's Chapter 167 Order of Eastern Star in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Scott Ussery of Springfield; a stepson, Floyd Ussery Jr. of Little Rock, Ark; two stepdaughters, Sherry Martin of Little Rock, Brenda Counlis of Stanford, Fla; three brothers, John Bagwell Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., Edwin Bagwell of Walnut Ridge, Ark., Bill Bagwell of Cape Girardeau; six sisters, Sue Osborne of St. Peters, Peggy Copeland of Fulton, Ky., Judy Knox of Seneca, S.C., Claudia Rollet of Perryville, Mary Foulk of Chaffee, Carolyn Graffius of Chesapeake, Va; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating.

Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee.

Cape Girardeau - William Richard Bagwell, 62 years old, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 13, 1936, at Columbus, Ky., the son of John and Rebecca Slayton Bagwell. He and Nita Lankford were married on Sept. 28, 1968.
He had served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a line pair leader from Procter & Gamble in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Paula Rouggly, Lisa Leible and Rebecca Simmons; a brother, John Bagwell Jr; six sisters, Peggy Copeland, Virginia Osborne, Mary Foulk, Claudia Rollett, Judy Knox and Caroline Graffius; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Burial will be in the Union Park Cemetery.

Nita Fay Lankford died on 15 January 2019 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, at age 76
Of Cape Girardeau formerly of Chaffee passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 6, 1942 in Swain, Arkansas to the late James Corelis and Mildred Beatrice Baxter Lankford. She married William Richard Bagwell on Sept. 28, 1968 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1998.
She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula (Tim) Simmers; Lisa Krieg and Rebecca Laxton all of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Leona Lesch of Delta; Kathie Razer of Chaffee and Lela Jaco of Pensacola, Florida; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and nine sisters.

     Shirley Jean Gaither was born on 6 May 1935 in Guilford College, North Carolina. As of before 1953,her married name was Bagwell. She married Frank Foster Bagwell, son of Frank Feaster Bagwell and Mary Annie Clark, before 1953. Shirley Jean Gaither died on 11 August 2004 at age 69. She was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, Lynchburg City, Virginia.

     Steven Douglas Bagwell was born on 3 February 1960 in North Carolina. He was the son of Frank Foster Bagwell and Shirley Jean Gaither. Steven Douglas Bagwell married Jo Ann Brewer on 17 April 1982 at Campbell County, Virginia. Steven Douglas Bagwell married Nora Lynn Lawhorne on 24 December 1993. Steven Douglas Bagwell married Deborah Ann Shelton on 24 May 2013. Steven Douglas Bagwell died on 5 October 2022 in Madison Heights, Virginia, at age 62


Steven Douglas Bagwell, 62, of Madison Heights went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2022 at his residence.

Steve is well known for being the gas attendant at the former Amoco and his love for Jesus. He dedicated his life to raising his daughters and being a caretaker for his father. Steve was a man of few words. He had a love for motorcycles, hot rods, the beach, rock and roll music, but most of all he loved watching the sports channel and Nascar with his dog, Diesel Lou.

Steve was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nora Lynn Bagwell, and his parents, Frank and Shirley Bagwell.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Nikki Slusher and husband Chris, Amanda Bagwell and boyfriend, Zach Fitzgerald, Rebecca Bagwell and boyfriend, Armond Sarokhanian, and Amy Powell; a son, Nathaniel Miller; a sister, Ann Childress; a brother, Frank Bagwell, Jr. and wife, Celeste; four grandsons: Chris Slusher, Jr., Cole Slusher, Aven “Leroy” Fitzgerald, and Alexander Sarokhanian; a special companion, Stephanie Robbins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

There will be no service per his wishes, but the family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 6 to 8pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights.

The family would like to give a special thanks to UVA Cancer Center, and Seven Hills Hospice, especially his special hospice nurse, Alice.

     Shirley Ann Bagwell is the daughter of Frank Foster Bagwell and Shirley Jean Gaither. Shirley Ann Bagwell married Preston Wayne Childress on 1 December 1973 at Campbell County, Virginia.

     Charles C. Webb was born on 3 January 1924 in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. He married A. Elisa Bagwell, daughter of James Franklin Bagwell and Susie Owens, after 1946. Charles C. Webb died on 13 August 2013 in Georgia at age 89. He was buried at Rest Haven Cemetery, Alpharetta, Forsyth County, Georgia.

     Raymond Lee Bagwell was born on 13 December 1933 in Wilburton, Latimer County, Oklahoma.¹ He was the son of Lee Arvil "Judge" Bagwell and Minnie Gregory. Raymond Lee Bagwell married Eva Sue (?) on 13 January 1961. Raymond Lee Bagwell died on 29 January 2019 in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, at age 85
Raymond Lee Bagwell, 85, of Broken Arrow, passed peacefully after a short illness Tuesday January 29, 2019 surrounded by his family in Tulsa, OK. Ray was born, December 13, 1933 in Wilburton, OK to L. A. and Minnie (Gregory) Bagwell.

He started his own business in the 60’s, later building R & M Music Co. to be one of the largest amusement companies in Oklahoma. He owned Commercial Real Estate all over NE Oklahoma, cleaning up several undesirable areas in Tulsa to make prime retail and office space. He loved anything to do with business, especially the horse business with his wife Sue of 58 years. He traveled with his family as they showed Palomino and POA’s winning several national titles.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Janice Lynn Admire. He is survived by his wife Sue of the home, two daughters, Susan Bagwell and Lorin Kaiser, grandchildren, Mandy, Taylor, Raymond & Hannah, great-grandchildren Kori and Lynnlee, brother Gary and wife Susan, sister Laverne Powell, nieces, nephews and numerous friends that were part of his family.

Visitation will be Saturday from 12-8 at Floral Haven Funeral Service. Service will be 2:00pm, Sunday, Feb 3rd at the Rose Chapel at Floral Haven.¹

Eva Sue Bagwell, 81, was born on December 11, 1939, in Haskell, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 23, 2021. She married her husband Raymond Bagwell on January 13, 1961. One of her biggest loves in life was horses. She bred and raised national champion, award-winning, show horses! She started with palominos and moved to POAs after the grandkids were born.

She is survived by her children: Susan Bagwell, and Lorin Kaiser; grandkids Amanda Brumble and wife Crystal; Taylor Kaiser; Raymond Kaiser; Hannah Kaiser-McBride and husband Alex; and great-grandkids Kori Kaiser; Lynnlee Brumble; and Charlie Jo McBride; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss and love her.

She is reunited with her husband Raymond Bagwell; her parents and her daughter Janice Lynn Admire.¹
