Chris was interested in a variety of things. He loved football and enjoyed going to Panthers games (if they win). He really enjoyed good food and watched the chefs to get recipe ideas. We crafted the perfect Mac and cheese, and the best turkey dressing. He loved Lebanese Kibbee Nayeh, sushi, fried chicken, Mexican food, and chocolate chip cookies. Chris was interested in medicine and knew what every ailment was and the treatments. He said he was technically a doctor. He was concerned about current world events and was always ready to discuss his opinions and solutions.

He was a gamer and played a lot of chess. He had diverse tastes in music, including metal, rap, classic rock, and country. He loved Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Joe Bonamassa, and Michael Jackson. He wanted to go to Europe, or Napa to visit his great grandfather. He loved Charleston, and swimming in the ocean when he was younger. His parents took him on his first international cruise this year and he was ready for another trip.

Left to cherish Chris' Memory are his parents Julie Bagwell and Matthew Cousins, his grandfather Kirk Bagwell, his grandmother Lisa Grimmett and her husband Billy Grimmett, his great grandparents James and Maryrose Shammas and his aunt Leslie Bagwell.

In Loving Memory of Christian “Chris” Bagwell
Sunrise: June 29, 1996 | Sunset: June 29, 2025
Age 29

It is with both deep sorrow and immense love that I share the passing of my beloved son, Chris who left this world on his 29th birthday, June 29th, 2025.

Chris lived with muscular dystrophy from a young age, and though the disease gradually took

away his physical strength, it never touched his brilliant mind, kind heart, or fierce spirit. He

faced each day with courage, humor, and a determination to live life fully on his own terms.

Chris was my heart and soul—my best friend, my purpose, my joy. We shared a bond that was unbreakable. He filled my days with laughter, music, long conversations, and quiet strength.

He loved heavy metal music and lived for the thrill of live concerts. He was passionate about politics, loved learning new things online, and never stopped asking questions about the world

around him. Chris was a loyal Carolina Panthers fan and could talk football for hours. He was witty, curious, and deeply thoughtful.

As his physical needs grew, he leaned on a devoted team of caregivers and family. For eight
years, his nurse and dear friend, Ronda, provided not just expert care but compassion and loyalty that meant the world to us. His grandparents also played a vital role in raising and supporting him with unconditional love.

His spirit will live on in the music he loved, the lessons he taught us, and the love he gave so freely. I will miss him every second of every day.

With all my love,

Julie.

Marceline Bagwell

F, b. 19 April 1927, d. July 2025
Marceline Bagwell was born on 19 April 1927 in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Oscar Lee Bagwell and Eula Smith. As of 8 December 1945,her married name was Reed. Marceline Bagwell married Elmo Delroy Reed Jr. on 8 December 1945. Marceline Bagwell died in July 2025 at age 98

Most of you know Marceline's family pretty well. Marceline's parents, Oscar and Eula Bagwell ere residents of Kenedy and the family was longstanding members of the Kenedy Church of Christ until their respective deaths.

Marceline was not born in Kenedy, but grew up here and graduated from Kenedy High School on May 29, 1244. After graduating from high school, she attended Texas State University in San Marcos.

She started dating Elmo Reed after he got of the army. He had also graduated from Kenedy High School. They were married on December 8, 1945. The celebrated their 50th. Wedding anniversary on December 8, 1995. Elmo passed away on October 8, 1997.

Marceline and Elmo lived in Beaumont for a few years and moved to Kingsville. Marceline was the church secretary for the Kingsville church of christ for over 16 years, outlasting at least four preachers that Tom can remember. She retired in 1984 when she and Elmo built their home on the ranch outside of Kenedy

When Tom was young, their house was the one the kids always wanted to go to. Marceline always had drinks, snacks and activities for them. Marceline loved to play bridge, knit, fish, travel and visit with friends and family. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. Every summer she would plan a two or three week trip traveling cross country in their travel trailer. After the trip, Marceline and Tom would stay in the trailer at the Fulton Trailer Park. They would spend the rest of the summer fishing and enjoying beach life. Elmo would come and spend weekends with them.

As time went on, and the grandsons came along, she enjoyed spending time with them, and attending various school functions. Lee, Koby and Niall will always remember all of the special holidays that were spent with her.

Marceline lived a long faith life. One of the last conversations she had was asking about how the sermon was that morning. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and is now at home with Elmo and the others relatives and friends that have gone before her.

She was buried at Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy, Karnes County, Texas.
