Clara was born November 14, 1937, a daughter of the late Lester F. and Eva Bailey Smith. She married James Harris Bagwell on June 2, 1956 and celebrated 58 loving years with him until his passing in 2015.
Clara was a 1956 graduate of Cartersville High School where she participated in the band and played basketball. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and Co-Owner of Shady Grove Farm. She was a devout member of Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was an active member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women's Ministry having served as the president for many years. She also served as the president of the Community Church Shop for over 20 years. In addition to being a homemaker, she held part time jobs as a school lunchroom server, bookkeeper and did alterations for Belk. Clara enjoyed canning vegetables from the family garden and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grand children.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by siblings, Doris (Norton) Tumlin, Carl (Helen) Smith and sister in law, Margaret (Arthur) Smith.
Surviving are her children; son, Dean (Lynn) Bagwell; daughters, Clarissa Bagwell, and Wanda (Keith) McPherson; Grandsons, Tyler (Britney) Bagwell, Bentley (Amanda) Bagwell, and Kenneth (Maddie) McPherson; Great-grand children, McKinley, Peyton, Jaxon and Barrett Bagwell and Maya McPherson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and special friends Annie Butler, Virginia Day and Catherine Naugher.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Monday, May 6, 2024, at eleven o'clock in the morning at Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2851 Hwy 140, Rydal, GA with Rev. Mark Rackley and Rev. Dr. Kevin Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Ga 30120 on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from four o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening.
Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Bagwell, Bentley Bagwell, Kenneth McPherson, Robert Ray, Allen Smith, Terry Tumlin, Matt Christopher and Scott Naugher.

James M. Baughman was born in Ohio February 23,1831. He enlisted in the Civil War in Ohio, served 3 yrs. 2 mos. and one-half. He was with Sherman "The March to the Sea" and the "Raid Around Atlanta" and rode his horse 5 days and nights without food, sleep or drink of water, and at the close of the war he was honorably discharged.
It was then he came to Kansas where he operated a saw mill for several years, sawing the first timber that built the first railroad through the Neosho Valley. In 1878 he was married to Mrs. Teressa Bagwell at Neodesha. Until the past 10 yrs. he was a successful farmer at that place having with his family come to Wauneta. After the children left home, he thought he and Mrs. Baughman could live more comfortable in Sedan so came here to retire from the farm.
He leaves a wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. George Myers of Conway Springs and Mrs. A.B. Short of Arkansas City and a son of Dewey, Oklahoma, all were present at his death. Mr. Baughman was a prosperous and kind hearted man. He also was well liked by all. He was a good husband and father and leaves a sad home and many friends to mourn his loss.
He was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Sedan, Chautauqua County, Kansas.

Etta Cleora Baughman was born on 4 July 1885 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas. She was the daughter of James McFee Baughman and Terressa Clarissa Tannahill. Etta Cleora Baughman died on 19 August 1990 in Wentzville, St Charles County, Missouri, at age 105.
