Memorial services were held April 15, 2003 in his home town of Frederick, Oklahoma and will be laid to rest in Frederick Memorial Cemetery.1
He was buried at Frederick Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma.1

GARDEN CITY - Larken Madison Bagwell, 84, died suddenly at the home of his daughter in Garden City at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Mr. Bagwell had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Retta Stephens, for the past three years.
Arrangements are pending, but the remains were taken in a Nalley Funeral coach to the Spill Funeral Home in Winters.
Mr. Bagwell was born Sept. 11, 1870, in Rome, Ga. He will be buried in the Bradshaw cemetery.

He also leaves 44 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.1 He was buried at Bradshaw Cemetery, Bradshaw, Taylor County, Texas.1

James Clifton "Cliff" Bagwell1

M, b. 25 June 1887, d. 6 November 1955
     James Clifton "Cliff" Bagwell was born on 25 June 1887 in Texas.1 He was the son of James Wiley Bagwell and Caroline Matilda Addeline Burns. He was a Private in the US Army, 98 Balloon Company, Aviation Section during World War 1.

The United States Army Balloon Squadrons, and companies organized under the Aviation Section, U.S. Signal Corps, and serving overseas with the United States Army Air Service, before and during World War I.

At the start of World War I, observation balloon units were organized into companies, squadrons, and wings. Each company was equipped with one balloon. Five companies comprised a squadron, and three squadrons made up a wing. By the end of the war 110 companies had been created. In the field Balloon companies were allotted to the ground units they supported as needed. In 1918 June, with squadron organization discontinued, company designations were numbered and organized into groups. Only 35 companies made it to France with the American Expeditionary Force (AEF). 17 companies served at the front, making 1,642 combat ascensions, while six other groups were en route to the front at the armistice. James Clifton "Cliff" Bagwell married Mabel Lucille Jones after 1920. James Cliften Bagwell, 68, who came here from Bradshaw about three years ago, died in his sleep early Sunday morning at his home at 1203 Sycamore.
Services were held at Nalley chapel at 10 a.m. Monday with Carrell Flynt, Church of Christ minister, officiating. The remains were taken to Winters for final rites and interment at 2:30 p.m. in the Bradshaw Cemetery.
Mr. Bagwell was born June 25, 1887, in Cross Plains and was a retired farmer. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Bagwell, Big Spring; one son, Don Bagwell, Big Spring; three brothers, Virge Bagwell, Wichita Falls, Mark Bagwell, Abilene, and A. Bagwell, Bradshaw.
Pallbearers were Wayne Hunt, Bob Irvin, Arthur Newby, Lance Ledbetter, Billy McCasland, L. H. Ryan, Byron Wood and Joe Buchannan.1 He was buried at Bradshaw Cemetery, Bradshaw, Taylor County, Texas.1
