     Melissa Elaine Bagwell is the daughter of James Olin Bagwell and Marie Elaine Ron. Melissa Elaine Bagwell married (?) Lee after 1985.

     Dennis Virgil Banes was born on 30 January 1892. He married Rubie Maudine Bagwell, daughter of Samuel Whitfield Bagwell and Sallie T. Hollis, after 1917. Dennis Virgil Banes died on 21 May 1967 at age 75. He was buried at Daytona Memorial Park, Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida.

     Leroy Welch was born on 19 March 1921. He married Earlene Bagwell, daughter of Samuel Whitfield Bagwell and Alice Theodocia "Allie" Barnes, after 1946.¹ Leroy Welch died on 15 September 1982 at age 61. He was buried at Old Fellowship Cemetery, Jones County, Mississippi.

     Gloria Griffin was born in 1918. As of circa 1946,her married name was Bagwell. She married Reverend Jack Raymond Bagwell, son of Thomas Stanhope Bagwell and Grace Naomi Spivey, circa 1946. Gloria Griffin died on 15 May 2019 in Care Partners Hospice Solace Center, Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina,
Gloria Griffin Bagwell passed away on May 15, 2019 at 99 years old in the excellent medical hands of Care Partners Hospice Solace Center.

Gloria is survived by her husband of seventy-three years, Jack Bagwell (from Fairview), her daughters Beth Bagwell Pappas and her husband, John and Anna Bagwell Arnold and her husband, Frank. She is also survived by her sister Johanna Griffin Shirey, by her grandson, Jake Arnold, and granddaughter, Jeana Arnold Bush, and Jeana’s daughters Olivia and Lucy Bush.

Gloria grew up in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Baylor University in 1942. She graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1947 where she met the love of her life, Jack. Gloria was a gifted teacher in schools in Asheville, Drexel, Raleigh, and Nashville, Tennessee. Her God given gifts of infinite love and compassion made her a wonderful wife, mother, teacher and friend. Gloria has spent her life serving the Lord and now joins her parents, her daughter, Linda Dawn Bagwell, and brothers Hampton and Deel Griffin in heaven.

The service celebrating Gloria’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 8th in Crouch Chapel at First Baptist Church, Asheville.
She was cremated.

     Linda Dawn Bagwell was born in December 1954. She was the daughter of Reverend Jack Raymond Bagwell and Gloria Griffin. Linda Dawn Bagwell died on 14 April 2018 in North Carolina at age 63.

     Beth Bagwell is the daughter of Reverend Jack Raymond Bagwell and Gloria Griffin. Beth Bagwell married John Pappas after 1965.

     Anna Bagwell is the daughter of Reverend Jack Raymond Bagwell and Gloria Griffin. Anna Bagwell married Frank Arnold after 1965.

     Frank Arnold married Anna Bagwell, daughter of Reverend Jack Raymond Bagwell and Gloria Griffin, after 1965.

     John Pappas married Beth Bagwell, daughter of Reverend Jack Raymond Bagwell and Gloria Griffin, after 1965.

     Grace Naomi Harris was born circa 1927. As of before 1947,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jack Whittington Bagwell, son of Frank Whittington Bagwell and Bessie O. Wyatt, before 1947.^1,2 Grace Naomi Harris died on 27 April 1983 in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.

     Reverend Carl Ervin Bagwell was born on 22 January 1951 in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. He was the son of Jack Whittington Bagwell and Grace Naomi Harris.¹ Reverend Carl Ervin Bagwell married Sadie Maria (?) before 1970. Reverend Carl Ervin Bagwell died on 4 June 2019 in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, at age 68
Carl Ervin Bagwell, 68, of Asheville, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville.

Carl was born January 22, 1951 in Asheville to the late Jack and Grace Bagwell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sadie Maria Bagwell; son, Robert Bagwell (Kristen); brothers, Clarence Bagwell, Jack Bagwell; grandchildren, Whit Bagwell, Payton Bagwell; stepchildren, Michael Bartrum, Kimberly Paul, Terri Lanning; 14 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00am at Maranatha Baptist Church, 1040 Lower Flat Creek Road, Weaverville, NC.

     Clarence Whittington Bagwell was born on 29 November 1948 in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He was the son of Jack Whittington Bagwell and Grace Naomi Harris.¹ Clarence Whittington Bagwell married Gloria Marie Neighbors on 29 May 1971 at Calvary Baptist Church, Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. Clarence Whittington Bagwell died on 17 September 2022 in Asheville, North Carolina, at age 73.

     Jack Wayne Bagwell is the son of Oliver Freeman Bagwell and Katie Mae Smith. Jack Wayne Bagwell married Marcia (?) after 1965. Jack Wayne Bagwell married Deborah Ann Hensley on 3 May 1984 at Clark County, Nevada.

     Letty Marie Leggett was born on 8 January 1940 in Trinity, Trinity County, Texas. As of 24 October 1960,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jack Bagwell, son of Garland Cleo Bagwell and Albina Ann Albrych, on 24 October 1960. Letty Marie Leggett died on 16 August 2005 at age 65.

     Jack (?) married Martha Catherine Mattson on 4 July 1936 at Crown Point, Indiana.

     Mary Reynolds married Victor Leslie Bagwell, son of Sylvester Bagwell and Charity Lena Heifner, on 29 May 1950 at Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.

     Ray E. Dees married Imogene Rovilla Bagwell, daughter of Sylvester Bagwell and Charity Lena Heifner, on 14 October 1942 at Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.

     (?) Williams married Imogene Rovilla Bagwell, daughter of Sylvester Bagwell and Charity Lena Heifner, after 1946.

     Daniel Richard Swift was born on 23 February 1884 in Tennessee. He married Hattie May Bagwell, daughter of George W. Bagwell and Martha Jane Shoemaker, on 24 December 1905. Daniel Richard Swift died on 22 January 1951 in Millersville, Sumner County, Tennessee, at age 66.

     Margarett Delorus Bagwell was born on 17 September 1934. She was the daughter of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Lucy Lavada Smith. Margarett Delorus Bagwell died on 2 January 2008 at age 73. She was buried at Sunny Home Church Cemetery, Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama.

     Geneva Louise Bagwell was born on 14 July 1929 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Velma Butler. Geneva Louise Bagwell married Francis (?) before 1964. Geneva Louise Bagwell died on 26 October 2014 at age 85

Geneva Bagwell Strickland, age 85, left this world to be welcome into Heaven with open arms.

She was born in Haleyville, AL and moved to Florida in the 1960's and gave birth to three children with her then husband, Francis Kohen Strickland.

She attended Eastside Baptist Church for many years and was always there, rain or shine, sick or not. Always offering rides to anyone who would like to attend. She will be lovingly remembered by many as a teacher's aide at the old Berryhill School.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Kay Strickland; her mother and father; her two sisters and her stepmother.

She is survived by: two children, Ron Strickland and Becky (Rick) Thompson; one brother, Bobby Bagwell; one sister, Jo Courington; granddaughter, Miranda Strickland; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Ellsworth; grandson, David (Adriane) Majzun and great-grandsons, Carter and Kameron.

All that knew her came to love her caring ways and she will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Eastside Baptist Church in Milton with Rev. Jim Liberacki officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until funeral service begins.

     Francis (?) was born on 29 September 1928. He married Geneva Louise Bagwell, daughter of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Velma Butler, before 1964. Francis (?) died on 25 March 2011 in Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida, at age 82. He was buried at Serenity Gardens, Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida.

     Bobby Ray Bagwell was born on 22 November 1932 in Alabama. He was the son of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Lucy Lavada Smith. Bobby Ray Bagwell married Bobbie Lyndal Boatwright on 31 August 1951 at Fulton, Mississippi. Bobby Ray Bagwell died on 19 September 2024 at age 91


Thursday morning, September 19th our husband/daddy/papa got his wings and went to sit at the right hand of God.

At almost 92 years old he won the gift of a long life. He was born into modest beginnings and was a salt-of-the-earth man, known for his love of the elderly and devotion to those he loved. He knew the value of hard work and of providing for his family.

A Navy veteran, he served his country with honor and integrity.

He was beloved by his children, who will forever cherish the lessons he imparted: the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the strength found in faith. He will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren.

A man of simple pleasures, he found joy in the everyday moments of life—whether it was a quiet morning with a cup of coffee on the front porch with his wife of 73 years, time spent in his barn and garden, enjoying his many farm animals or gathering for a family meal with his children and their spouses and his grandchildren. He was a simple humble man.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, three children and their spouses, three grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will always be our “daddy and papa.”

A visitation for Bobby will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
