The loving wife of Rev. Bobby Wynn, Betty Jo was a native of Hiawassee, GA and the daughter of the late Nola (Crump) and Will Shook; also the widow of the late Rev. Robert Henry Bagwell, Sr.

A Church of God pastor's wife for more than 50 years, she was a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate and a former employee of the Inman Times and Belk, Inc.

Survived by daughter, Joette Carroll (Ronnie) of Greenwood; son, Stephen Bagwell (Shirley) of Inman; step daughter, Barbara Wooten (Gene) of Joanna, stepson Ronnie Wynn (Cheryl) of Conway; sister, Gaynelle McCloud of Travelers Rest; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition, she had the joy of brother and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her son, Robert Henry Bagwell, Jr. and sister, Dean Shook.

The funeral was held Friday, May 5, 2017 at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC at 4:00 PM.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 16, 2011, with Rev. Terry Sherfield officiating.

The family received friends one hour before the services at the funeral home. Interment was private.

Louise Lewis Bagwell, 97, of Inman, SC passed away peacefully Thursday, September 12, 2013 at her home.

Everyone affectionately knew her as "Miama".

She was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Reuben and Pauline Smith Lewis.

She graduated from Inman High School in 1935 where she enjoyed playing basketball & tennis.

She worked many years in the office of the family business.

She was the oldest member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church and served with the UMW ladies. She enjoyed painting china and making Christmas ornaments that she graciously gave away.

Louise is survived by two sons, Larry Bagwell (Marian) of Inman, SC and Tim Bagwell (Chris) of Managua, Nicaragua, two sisters, Jenny Maxwell of Inman, SC and Juanita Cromer of California. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her precious companion dog "Pepper".

In addition to her husband, Homer of 47 years she was predeceased by one brother, Reuben P Lewis, and two sisters, Jewel Callia and Lake Canning.

The family is at the home of her son, Larry at 104 Beechwood Drive, Inman and will receive friends, Sunday,September 15, 2013 at Seawright Funeral Home from 3:00 – 4:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev Gary Byrd. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Carlton was born July 23, 1935 to the late John Quincy Bagwell and Edna Earl Foster. He was a truck driver for Olympic Products for many years. Carlton loved watching old westerns and was an avid fan of John Wayne and Jessie James. He enjoyed talking about the Civil War, enjoyed yard work, tool crafting, spending time with his family, was a great jokester, and a flirt.

Graveside service will be held 4 P.M. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Glenfield Memorial Park in New Albany with Billy Hutcheson officiating. Visitation will be at Holland Funeral Directors Tupelo from Noon till 3:00 P.M. on Thursday.

RULEVILLE - Janice Polk Bagwell, 70, Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital. She was formerly from Tupelo but was a current resident of Ruleville, Miss. She was born in Sommerville, Tenn. on Aug. 31, 1941 to Earnest Polk Sr. and Pauline Mooneyham Polk. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She enjoyed her garden and loved to attend her church and sing gospel songs.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the United Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Bobby Casteel officiating, burial will be in the old Glenfield cemetery. United Funeral Service is in Charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Knotts (Michael) of Decatur, Ala; two sons, John Bagwell of Ashland, and Ronald Bagwell of Oxford; one sister, Joyce Holland of Byhalia; two brothers, Earnest Polk Jr. (Cleo) of Moscow, Tenn. and Charles Polk(Willene) of Byhalia; three grandchildren, Paul Drake of Birmingham, Matthew Drake and James Drake both of Decatur, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Donald Bagwell, one daughter, Tabitha Bagwell and one sister, Lois Blalock.

Ronald Dean Bagwell, fondly known as Ron, passed away on December 23, 2024, in Oxford, MS, at the age of 63. Born on August 14, 1961, in Union County, MS, he was a man of great spirit who brought laughter and joy to those around him throughout his life.

Ron was predeceased by his father, Carlton Lee Bagwell, his mother, Janice Mae Polk, his twin brother, Donald Bagwell, and his sister, Tabitha Bagwell. He is survived by his sister, Janet Knotts, and her husband Michael, and his brother, John Bagwell.

Ron, who was disabled, spent his days surrounded by the attentive and caring staff at the North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford, MS. He enjoyed being the center of attention of the staff and caregivers. He was very intelligent and observant of his surroundings, able to communicate the needs of his fellow patients.

Ron loved to watch the games on TV, exuding his characteristic passion and excitement. He will be remembered as a loving, kind, and funny individual, whose absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was born May 26, 1937 in Union County to the late John Quincy and Edna Foster Bagwell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in the military police. He was a former supervisor for Mohasco for 28 years and retired as a furniture instructor for Northeast MS. Community College. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved watching old westerns. He was a Christian and loved his Savior.
Funeral services will be 2:00p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at United Funeral Service with Rev. Luther Bagwell officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by one daughter, Daphne Adair (Mike) of Guntown; two sons, Jimmy Bagwell, Jr. of Myrtle and Stephenson Bagwell of Guntown; one sister, Janie Wilder of New Albany; and Luther Bagwell (Rachel) of Pontotoc; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Bagwell; and two brothers, Arnold Bagwell and Carlton Bagwell.
The American Legion Post 72 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00p.m. till service time at the funeral home.
In honor of Mr. Bagwell’s military service, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Air Force flag during his visitation and service.

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Mrs. Janie Lou Bagwell Wilder died peacefully at home, the place she worked tirelessly and joyfully to make a haven for her family. She set aside faith

Mrs. Wilder was born on October 28, 1942, to J.Q. and Edna Bagwell of Ingomar, Mississippi. She was married to the love of her life, Dewitt Wilder, for 53 years until his passing in 2016. One of her greatest joys was to have all her family together. She loved being a GranGran and was always purposeful about spending quality time with her grandchildren and keeping up with everything they were doing.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilder were charter members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in New Albany, where they faithfully attended and served for decades. Mrs. Janie was a faithful prayer warrior and a committed giver, and she always took time to get to know people.

Janie Wilder is survived by her brother Luther Bagwell, her children Royce Wilder (Bevin) of Corinth and Frank Wilder (Lisa) of Pontotoc, as well as her grandchildren Brooke Perry Jonathan), Alaina Wilder, Rachel Wilder, Brianna Wilder, Logan Wilder, Ciara Wilder and Daniel Wilder, and three greatgrandchildren, Hadlee, Harper and Saylor Perry, as well as many other extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Carlton Bagwell, Jimmy Bagwell, and Arnold Bagwell, and her husband, Dewitt Wilder.

Visitation for Mrs. Wilder will be Saturday, February 22, 2025, at United Funeral Service in New Albany at 12:00, followed immediately by the funeral service at 2:00.

     Ella Ruth Bagwell was born on 26 January 1933 in Choctaw County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Doyle Turner Bagwell and Virgie Marie Burdine. As of after 1951,her married name was McGinn. Ella Ruth Bagwell married (?) McGinn after 1951. Ella Ruth Bagwell died on 25 March 2019 at age 86. She was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Walnut Corner, Phillips County, Arkansas.

Herman Mitchell Bagwell

     Herman Mitchell Bagwell was born on 20 October 1934 in Choctaw County, Mississippi. He was the son of Doyle Turner Bagwell and Virgie Marie Burdine. Herman Mitchell Bagwell married Ruby Nell Mann on 24 January 1959 at Winona, Mississippi. Herman Mitchell Bagwell lived in 2016 in Popular Creek, Mississippi. He died on 18 October 2021 in French Camp, Choctaw County, Mississippi, at age 86


Funeral services for Herman Mitchell Bagwell, of French Camp, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Kilmichael, MS. Rev. Don Smith will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held at Oliver Funeral Home on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be Steve Clark, Brooks Jones, Mark Newell, Bubba Nix, Billy Michael McClurg, and Andy Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Bagwell, Joseph Bagwell, Jacob Bagwell, Dan Robin, Jerry Stafford, Terry Thomas, and Hosea Henson.

Mr. Bagwell, 86, passed away at his home on Monday, October 18, 2021. He was born October 20, 1934, in Choctaw County to Doyle Turner and Virgie Marie Burdine Bagwell. The family moved to Poplar Creek around 1940. He attended Poplar Creek School and graduated from Big Black High in Kilmichael, MS. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1956 and had an honorable discharge in 1958. He became an independent truck driver moving people all over the U.S. and Canada. He worked for Mayflower, Global, and United Van Line until he retired in December 1995.

He is survived by his children, Dawn Bagwell Meeks, of Brandon, MS, Kipp Mitchell Bagwell (Melissa) of Richland, MS, and Narcissa Faye Bagwell Harvey (Chad) of Covington, LA. He leaves nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca Bagwell Wilson (Boyce) of Kilmichael, MS and Sue Bagwell Burns Pemberton (Curtis) of Montgomery, AL; one brother, Gerald H. Bagwell (Shirley) of Clinton, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and family members. He also leaves a special bonus sister, Jan Thomas, that had helped him in many ways over the last years. He leaves his little candy-eating buddy, Blake, and also his fur companion, Dixie, that has stayed by his side for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Ruth Bagwell McGinn, and Jo Ann Bagwell Dees Thrailkill.

Herman was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and loved taking care of his bees. He attended Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by the community of Poplar Creek, MS.

Jo Ann Bagwell died on 27 December 2015 in Winona, Montgomery County, Mississippi, at age 78. She was buried at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Kilmichael, Montgomery County, Mississippi.
