     Clarence Whittington Bagwell was born on 29 November 1948 in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He was the son of Jack Whittington Bagwell and Grace Naomi Harris.¹ Clarence Whittington Bagwell married Gloria Marie Neighbors on 29 May 1971 at Calvary Baptist Church, Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. Clarence Whittington Bagwell died on 17 September 2022 in Asheville, North Carolina, at age 73.

     Jack Wayne Bagwell is the son of Oliver Freeman Bagwell and Katie Mae Smith. Jack Wayne Bagwell married Marcia (?) after 1965. Jack Wayne Bagwell married Deborah Ann Hensley on 3 May 1984 at Clark County, Nevada.

     Letty Marie Leggett was born on 8 January 1940 in Trinity, Trinity County, Texas. As of 24 October 1960,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jack Bagwell, son of Garland Cleo Bagwell and Albina Ann Albrych, on 24 October 1960. Letty Marie Leggett died on 16 August 2005 at age 65.

     Jack (?) married Martha Catherine Mattson on 4 July 1936 at Crown Point, Indiana.

     Mary Reynolds married Victor Leslie Bagwell, son of Sylvester Bagwell and Charity Lena Heifner, on 29 May 1950 at Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.

     Ray E. Dees married Imogene Rovilla Bagwell, daughter of Sylvester Bagwell and Charity Lena Heifner, on 14 October 1942 at Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.

     Daniel Richard Swift was born on 23 February 1884 in Tennessee. He married Hattie May Bagwell, daughter of George W. Bagwell and Martha Jane Shoemaker, on 24 December 1905. Daniel Richard Swift died on 22 January 1951 in Millersville, Sumner County, Tennessee, at age 66.

     Margarett Delorus Bagwell was born on 17 September 1934. She was the daughter of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Lucy Lavada Smith. Margarett Delorus Bagwell died on 2 January 2008 at age 73. She was buried at Sunny Home Church Cemetery, Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama.

     Geneva Louise Bagwell was born on 14 July 1929 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Velma Butler. Geneva Louise Bagwell married Francis (?) before 1964. Geneva Louise Bagwell died on 26 October 2014 at age 85

Geneva Bagwell Strickland, age 85, left this world to be welcome into Heaven with open arms.

She was born in Haleyville, AL and moved to Florida in the 1960's and gave birth to three children with her then husband, Francis Kohen Strickland.

She attended Eastside Baptist Church for many years and was always there, rain or shine, sick or not. Always offering rides to anyone who would like to attend. She will be lovingly remembered by many as a teacher's aide at the old Berryhill School.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Kay Strickland; her mother and father; her two sisters and her stepmother.

She is survived by: two children, Ron Strickland and Becky (Rick) Thompson; one brother, Bobby Bagwell; one sister, Jo Courington; granddaughter, Miranda Strickland; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Ellsworth; grandson, David (Adriane) Majzun and great-grandsons, Carter and Kameron.

All that knew her came to love her caring ways and she will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Eastside Baptist Church in Milton with Rev. Jim Liberacki officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until funeral service begins.

     Bobby Ray Bagwell was born on 22 November 1932 in Alabama. He was the son of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Lucy Lavada Smith. Bobby Ray Bagwell married Bobbie Lyndal Boatwright on 31 August 1951 at Fulton, Mississippi. Bobby Ray Bagwell died on 19 September 2024 at age 91


Thursday morning, September 19th our husband/daddy/papa got his wings and went to sit at the right hand of God.

At almost 92 years old he won the gift of a long life. He was born into modest beginnings and was a salt-of-the-earth man, known for his love of the elderly and devotion to those he loved. He knew the value of hard work and of providing for his family.

A Navy veteran, he served his country with honor and integrity.

He was beloved by his children, who will forever cherish the lessons he imparted: the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the strength found in faith. He will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren.

A man of simple pleasures, he found joy in the everyday moments of life—whether it was a quiet morning with a cup of coffee on the front porch with his wife of 73 years, time spent in his barn and garden, enjoying his many farm animals or gathering for a family meal with his children and their spouses and his grandchildren. He was a simple humble man.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, three children and their spouses, three grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will always be our “daddy and papa.”

A visitation for Bobby will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

     Martha Frances Bagwell was born on 4 December 1932 in Winston County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Alonzo Cornelius Bagwell Jr. and Lucy Lavada Smith. As of after 1950,her married name was Cummins. Martha Frances Bagwell married Marvin Cummins after 1950. Martha Frances Bagwell died on 18 July 2008 at age 75. She was buried at Sunny Home Church Cemetery, Haleyville, Winston County, Georgia.

     Lizzie N. Bagwell is the daughter of Roy Minton Bagwell and Ethel Mae Cummings.

     Betty Faye Bagwell was born on 7 March 1938 in Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Roy Minton Bagwell and Ethel Mae Cummings. As of after 1955,her married name was Fleming. Betty Faye Bagwell married Dallie J. Fleming after 1955. Betty Faye Bagwell died on 15 July 2020 in Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama, at age 82

Funeral service for Betty Faye (Bagwell) Fleming, age 82, of Decatur, will be Saturday, July 18, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Westmeade Baptist Church with Pastor Justin McAlpin and Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Fleming, who died Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at her residence, was born March 7, 1938, in Haleyville, to Roy Milton Bagwell and Ethel Cummings Bagwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Dean Baccus, one son-in-law, Tim Garner, and one daughter-in-law, Lisa Fleming.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dallie J. Fleming of Decatur; three sons, Joey Fleming (Brenna) of Cullman, Darron Fleming of Trinity, and David Fleming (Mysti) of Athens; one daughter, Charlotte Garner of Decatur; one sister, Freda Pelfrey (Gary) of Fultondale; eight grandchildren, Nick Garner, Kevin Garner, Heather Garner, Whitley Fleming, Lucas Fleming, Savannah Fleming, Katherine Fleming, and John Fleming; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Garner.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

She was buried at Midway Memorial Gardens, Caddo, Lawrence County, Alabama.

     Freda Ann Bagwell is the daughter of Roy Minton Bagwell and Ethel Mae Cummings. Freda Ann Bagwell married Gary Jay Pelfrey on 6 February 1958 at Winston County, Alabama.

     Raymond Samuel Smith was born on 19 November 1925 in Alabama. He enlisted in the US Army on 19 November 1943 during World War II. He married J. Foy Bagwell, daughter of John Weasley Monroe Bagwell and Edna C. Dye, in August 1946 at Franklin County, Alabama. Raymond Samuel Smith died on 26 March 2000 at age 74. He was buried at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville, Franklin County, Alabama.

     Dudley John Bagwell was born on 12 February 1965 in Franklin County, Alabama. He was the son of John Franklin Bagwell and Kathryn “Kat” Vickery. Dudley John Bagwell married Glenna Mae (?) on 20 September 1985. Dudley John Bagwell died on 18 March 2002 in Trinity, Morgan County, Alabama, at age 37. He was buried at Bethel Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.

     Glenna Mae (?) married Dudley John Bagwell, son of John Franklin Bagwell and Kathryn “Kat” Vickery, on 20 September 1985.

     Lynn Wayne Bagwell was born on 14 January 1942. He was the son of James Oaties Bagwell and Lona Mildred Latham. He was a A2C in the US Air Force from from 1 August 1960 to 31 July 1964. Lynn Wayne Bagwell married Judy Lonnette Cravens before 1965. Lynn Wayne Bagwell died on 15 May 1989 in Grayson County, Texas, at age 47. He was buried at Oak Wood Cemetery, Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas.

     Judy Lonnette Cravens married Lynn Wayne Bagwell, son of James Oaties Bagwell and Lona Mildred Latham, before 1965.

     Kendall Wayne Bagwell is the son of Lynn Wayne Bagwell and Judy Lonnette Cravens. Kendall Wayne Bagwell married Andrea S. Wood on 23 June 1990 at Cooke County, Texas. Kendall Wayne Bagwell married Monica Lynne Seals on 29 May 2004 at Grayson County, Texas.
