Greenville - Lila Wilson Bagwell, 99, died Monday, August 24, 2020.

Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lillie Adams Wilson.

She was a retired Fashion Samples Supervisor at Stone Manufacturing Company. And she was a member of the Lydia Class at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She loved gardening and was passionate about her faith in God, her lovely flower and vegetable gardens, and her dear family.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Norwood; grandson, Vance Jenkins; granddaughter, Tracy J. Winetroub (Peter); great granddaughters Kristen Smith and Haley Winetroub.

She was predeceased by her husband of 80 years, Carl Henry Bagwell; an infant daughter; daughter, Shirley Burton; grandson, Jeffrey Burton; son-in-law, David Norwood; brothers J.T., Ernest, Grady, and Leslie Wilson.

A celebration of Mrs. Bagwell's life will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel of the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Adult Fund at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 1801 Woodruff Rd, Greenville, SC 29607.

The family would like to thank especially Ms.Davia Johnson, RN, of Regency Southern Care Hospice Services, and the loving, supportive staff at Greenville Place Assisted Living, who took such good care of Mr. and Mrs. Bagwell during their two-year stay there.

     Roy Elbert Benjamin was born on 28 January 1904 in Laurens County, South Carolina.¹ He married Mary Lou Bagwell, daughter of John Owen Bagwell and Elliotte Amanda Bobo, before 1940. Roy Elbert Benjamin died on 7 December 1963 at age 59.¹ He was buried at Rosemont Cemetery, Clinton, Laurens County, South Carolina.¹

     William A. Buchanan was born on 29 April 1897. He married Sallie Ann Bagwell, daughter of John Owen Bagwell and Ona Bailey, after 1915. William A. Buchanan died on 4 May 1976 at age 79. He was buried at Rosemont Cemetery, Clinton, Laurens County, South Carolina.

JONESVILLE - Adam Chase Bagwell, 9-day-old infant son of Jennifer Lynn Lawson of Jonesville and Joshua Thomas Bagwell of Union, died May 20, 1999, in Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Wayne and Shelia Burgess of the home and Kenneth E. and Rhonda Lawson of Jonesville; paternal grandmother, Jodi Bagwell of Union; paternal grandfather, Richard Bagwell of Six Mile; maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Irma Bradburn of Union and Kenneth and Nancy Lawson of Union; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Jo Hause of Union; paternal great-grandfather, Robert L. Bagwell of Laurens; maternal great-great-grandparents, Wallace and Inez Wilson of Union; and maternal great-great-grandmother, Mary M. Denny of Seneca.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home in Union. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Jonesville Church of God, conducted by the Revs. Lee Cook and Robert Reeves. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

The family is at the home of his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burgess, 615 Forest St., Jonesville.

     Carolyn Marie Harris was born on 16 May 1935 in Oklahoma.¹ She was the daughter of John H. Harris. As of 9 June 1954,her married name was Bagwell. Carolyn Marie Harris married Tommy Leroy Bagwell, son of Chelsa Forbes Bagwell and Oleta Inez Denney, on 9 June 1954. Carolyn Marie Harris and Tommy Leroy Bagwell were divorced on 28 January 1975 at Harris County, Texas. Carolyn Marie Harris died on 9 July 2017 in Edmond, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, at age 82.¹ She was buried at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.¹

     Jean Elizabeth Lyons married Tommy Leroy Bagwell, son of Chelsa Forbes Bagwell and Oleta Inez Denney, before 1977.

     Tiffany Jean Bagwell is the daughter of Tommy Leroy Bagwell and Jean Elizabeth Lyons. Tiffany Jean Bagwell married Todd A. Shelttles on 21 August 1999 at Pulaski County, Arkansas.

     Jones Alan Bagwell was born on 28 December 1958. He was the son of Beattie Austin Bagwell and Clara Mae Parkins. Jones Alan Bagwell married Nancy A. Richardson on 28 June 1986 at Greenville, South Carolina. Jones Alan Bagwell died on 20 March 2020 in Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, South Carolina, at age 61

Jones Alan Bagwell, 61, of Mill Spring, NC passed away at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum following a brief illness. He is the son of the late Clara Mae (Parkins) Bagwell and Beattie Austin Bagwell of Liberty, SC and loving partner of Cheryl Ineson. He is of devout Episcopal faith and enjoyed employment as sales manager for Napa Auto Parts following a career in textile management and real estate. He was a graduate of Calhoon Engineering School, Baltimore, MD, and served as Cadet Engineering Officer in the Merchant Marines. He attended Clemson University and graduated from Liberty High School. A promise kept: “GO TIGERS!” Alan was passionate about Clemson Football, animals, nature, gardening, cars, and tools. He cherished all the friends he made along the way. He is survived by sisters Elaine Bagwell and Judith Addington (Charles) and brother Joel Bagwell, of Liberty, SC and nieces Melissa Gardner, Dana Carver and Lisa Crowe. A celebration of his life will be held at the home post-COVID-19.
