SFC Ted Lee Bagwell was born Aberdeen, WA to Theodore Ledgerwood and MaryAnn Mumm Bagwell on December 18, 1964. He went to school at Spotsylvania, VA. He married Rosita P. Bagwell on June 1, 1990 in Jefferson, WI. He worked for the US Army for 26 1/2 years.

He was a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and served in the US Army. He received Army Commendation Medal (4th Award) , Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Army National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (2nd Award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon (2nd Award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Marksmanship Qual Badge-Expert With Rifle.

Ted is preceded in death by his Son Ashton Uriah Bagwell, Step Father Donald L. Bagwell, Great Grandma Ina Fetsch, and Brother Mark Bagwell.

Ted is survived by wife, Rosita P. Bagwell; children and their spouses, Atinah and Frank, Aharon and Casandra; siblings, Scott Bagwell, Tracy Robinson, Kristina Cabral, Shawnte Ledgerwood, Christopher Ledgerwood, Elias Anderson, Dean Ledgerwood, and Lenzie Lewis; parents, Theodore Ledgerwood and MaryAnn Mumm Bagwell; grandchildren, Tristin L.      Ashton Uriah Bagwell was born on 16 April 1992. He was the son of SFC Ted Lee Bagwell and Rosita Pinaula. Ashton Uriah Bagwell died on 1 July 1992. He was buried on 10 July 1992 at Guam Veterans Cemetery, Piti, Guam.

     Mary Ann Mumm married Theodore Ledgerwood before 1964. Mary Ann Mumm married Donald Lynn Bagwell, son of Garrett Washington Bagwell and Adaline George, on 27 June 1972 at Las Vegas, Nevada.

     Theodore Ledgerwood married Mary Ann Mumm before 1964.

     Mark Bagwell was born on 2 July 1960 in Kern County, California. He was the son of Donald Lynn Bagwell and Lucy Embrey. Mark Bagwell married Vicki Leone Yslas on 15 January 1985. Mark Bagwell married Kirsten Danielle Rasset on 31 December 1999 at Washington, Oregon. Mark Bagwell and Kirsten Danielle Rasset were divorced on 20 September 2002 at Grays Harbor, Washington. Mark Bagwell died on 23 November 2013 in Kitsap County, Washington, at age 53.

     Scott Bagwell is the son of Donald Lynn Bagwell and Mary Ann Mumm.

     Atinah Bagwell was born after 1991. She was the daughter of SFC Ted Lee Bagwell and Rosita Pinaula. As of after 2008,her married name was Aharon. Atinah Bagwell married Frank Aharon after 2008.

     Carolina Victoria Delancey was also known as Carolyn DeLancey. She was born on 12 July 1874 in North Carolina. As of before 1930,her married name was Bagwell. She married Charles Marvin Bagwell, son of William Morrison Bagwell and Alice Rebecca Moore, before 1930 at Plymouth, Massachusetts. Carolina Victoria Delancey died on 5 March 1957 in St. John's Convalescent Home, Lynchburg, Lynchburg City, Virginia, at age 82. She was buried on 7 March 1957 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, Lynchburg City, Virginia.

     Angela (?) married Dennis Thurn Bagwell, son of Thurn Woodfin Bagwell and Patricia Thelma McCombs, after 1980.¹

     Patrick Dennis Bagwell is the son of Dennis Thurn Bagwell and Angela (?)¹ Patrick Dennis Bagwell married Melissa (?) after 2000.

     Lola Leona McBee was born on 26 January 1948 in Arkansas. As of before 1963,her married name was Bagwell. She married Alan Floyd Bagwell, son of Floyd Eugene Bagwell and Lois Chrystine Boggs, before 1963. Lola Leona McBee died on 20 September 1995 in Stockdale, Wilson County, Texas, at age 47 murdered by her son, Dennis Wayne Bagwell.

     Dennis Wayne Bagwell was born on 27 December 1963 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. He was the son of Alan Floyd Bagwell and Lola Leona McBee. Dennis Wayne Bagwell married Maria L. Vargas on 4 June 1981 at Hidalgo County, Texas. Dennis Wayne Bagwell married Elizabeth S. Sanders on 18 November 1989 at Harrison County, Texas. Dennis Wayne Bagwell and an unknown person were divorced on 19 May 1994 at Harrison County, Texas. He died on 17 February 2005 in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas, at age 41


Dennis Wayne Bagwell was executed for the September 20, 1995, murders of his mother Leona McBee, age 47; Leona's daughter and his half-sister, Libby Best, age 24; Libby's daughter Reba Best, age 4; and Tassy Boone, age 14, another of Leona's grandaughters, in rural Wilson County TX after Leona refused to loan him money.

Bagwell was sentenced to life in prison for the September 5, 1995, murder of George Newman Barry, the janitor at a bar in Seguin TX. He was tried for this murder after he received the death sentence for the later murders.

Bagwell had been paroled in May 1995 after serving 13 years of an 18-year prison sentence in 1982 for attempted capital murder during a robbery in Hidalgo County TX.

Summary:
Bagwell and his girlfriend, Victoria Wolford, lived in a small travel trailer which Bagwell had parked on property of his mother, Leona McBee, and stepfather, Ron Boone.

About two weeks before the killings, McBee asked Bagwell and Wolford to stop living on the property. Bagwell and Wolford then moved in with friends in San Antonio.

According to the testimony of Wolford, she and Bagwell returned to his mother’s house to borrow money. Wolford retired to the travel trailer because she had a headache.

A short time later, Bagwell walked over to the travel trailer and told Wolford that his mother would only give him $20. Bagwell then went back into McBee’s house. Wolford stood outside the travel trailer.

Through the window, Wolford saw Bagwell strike McBee, then heard screams and two popping noises.

Later, Bagwell took some towels and wetted them with a water hose. He wiped off a hammer and told Wolford he was going to go wipe off fingerprints and make the crime look like a robbery and rape of Tassy Boone.

The four bodies were discovered by Ronald Boone when he came home from work.

Leona McBee, 47, had been beaten and strangled, and her neck was broken. Libby Best, 24, had been shot twice in the head. Tassy Boone, 14, had been beaten, strangled, and sexually assaulted. Her neck was also broken. Reba Best, 4, had been beaten, and her skull was crushed.


He was cremated.

     Hal Gray Higgins married Belinda Jane Bagwell, daughter of Blaine Greentown Bagwell and Bonnie G. Redinbaugh, on 19 August 1967 at Greentown, Howard County, Indiana.

     Karen Lucille Harris was born on 24 August 1941 in Battle Creek, Iowa. As of 6 November 1960,her married name was Bagwell. She married Brent Alan Bagwell, son of Blaine Greentown Bagwell and Bonnie G. Redinbaugh, on 6 November 1960. Karen Lucille Harris and Brent Alan Bagwell were divorced on 18 September 1968 at Chambers, Texas. Karen Lucille Harris died on 4 April 2014 in Whiting, Jackson County, Kansas, at age 72. She was buried at Larkinburg Cemetery, Jackson County, Kansas.

     As of 2 November 1970,her married name was Bagwell. Patricia A. Berry married Brent Alan Bagwell, son of Blaine Greentown Bagwell and Bonnie G. Redinbaugh, on 2 November 1970 at Chambers, Texas.

     Alice Faye Bagwell was born on 6 January 1971 in Hardin County, Texas. She was the daughter of Brent Alan Bagwell and Virginia Lea Proctor. Alice Faye Bagwell died on 1 March 1991 in Jefferson County, Texas, at age 20. She was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie, Chambers County, Texas.

     Kurtis L. Bagwell is the son of Brent Alan Bagwell and Karen Lucille Harris. Kurtis L. Bagwell married Laure R. Russell on 15 August 1980 at Jefferson County, Texas. Kurtis L. Bagwell and Laure R. Russell were divorced on 15 July 1982 at Jefferson County, Texas.

     Eric Bagwell is the son of Brent Alan Bagwell.

     James Blaine Bagwell is the son of Brent Alan Bagwell and Virginia Lea Proctor.
