Ruth Augustus Burgess died on 7 February 1920 in Anderson County, South Carolina, at age 43.¹ She was buried at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Thomas Wilton Bagwell was born on 7 April 1900 in Anderson County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess. Thomas Wilton Bagwell married Eunice Ida Trotter after 1920. Thomas Wilton Bagwell died on 10 December 1973 at age 73.¹ He was buried at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Eunice Ida Trotter was born on 19 April 1903.¹ As of after 1920,her married name was Bagwell. She married Thomas Wilton Bagwell, son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess, after 1920. Eunice Ida Trotter died on 17 August 1993 at age 90.¹ She was buried at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Keith Lenhardt Bagwell was born in 1931 in Anderson County, South Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Wilton Bagwell and Eunice Ida Trotter. Keith Lenhardt Bagwell married Nancy JoLynn Reid after 1950. Keith Lenhardt Bagwell died on 20 October 2009

Keith Lenhardt Bagwell, 78, of 305 Shiloh Rd., husband of Jo Lynn Reid Bagwell, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Hospice of the Upstate.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Thomas Wilton and Eunice Trotter Bagwell. He was retired from Monsanto Corporation, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, past President of Saluda Valley Country Club, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife of the home; daughter, Karen Bagwell Thomason and husband, Joe, of Easley; son, Michael Keith Bagwell and wife, Kim, of Piedmont; sister, Carolyn Garrett of Piedmont; brothers, Jack Bagwell of Piedmont and Fred Bagwell of Cartersville, Ga; five grandchildren, Jake and Josh Thomason, Reid, Kalley, and Angel Bagwell.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Dr. David Brown and Rev. Bob Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

     Fred Wilton Bagwell was born on 28 January 1933 in Pelzer, Anderson County, South Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Wilton Bagwell and Eunice Ida Trotter. He served in the US Army. Fred Wilton Bagwell died on 4 May 2010 in Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia, at age 77 Fred Wilton Bagwell, 77, formerly of Piedmont, passed away May 4, 2010, at Cartersville Heights Nursing Home in Cartersville, GA. Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Thomas Wilton and Eunice Trotter Bagwell. He was retired from J.P. Stevens Estes Plant, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Dawn Bagwell Shams, and husband, Nadim of Acworth, GA; sister, Carolyn Garrett of Piedmont; brother, Jack Bagwell of Piedmont; grandson, Zak Shams. He was predeceased by brothers, J.T. and Keith Bagwell; sisters, Helen Wilson and Sue Reid. The family is at the home of Carolyn Garrett, 904 Shiloh Church Rd., Piedmont and will receive friends Friday from 2-3 pm at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held 3pm Friday at the church with Dr. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.      Joseph Thomas Bagwell was born on 7 June 1921 in Anderson County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Thomas Wilton Bagwell and Eunice Ida Trotter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.¹ Joseph Thomas Bagwell married Jessie Hazel Loftis on 23 December 1950. Joseph Thomas "J.T." Bagwell, 82, of 620 Old River Road, husband of Jessie Hazel Loftis Bagwell, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Thomas Wilton and Eunice Ida Trotter Bagwell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was retired from J.P. Stevens, Estes Plant.

Surviving are his wife, of the home; sisters, Helen Wilson, of Piedmont, and Carolyn Garrett, of Mabelton, Ga; and brothers, Keith Bagwell, Fred Bagwell and Jack Bagwell, all of Piedmont.

He was predeceased by a sister, Sue B. Reid.

Funeral services will be 3 at p.m. today at Gray Mortuary Chapel in Pelzer, with the Rev. Robert Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

     William Frederick Bagwell was born on 26 August 1895 in Pelzer, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess. William Frederick Bagwell married Genia Emma Richardson on 30 November 1914 at Anderson County, South Carolina. William Frederick Bagwell died on 28 November 1989 in Pelzer, Anderson County, South Carolina, at age 94.¹ He was buried on 30 November 1989 at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Oscar Monroe Bagwell was born on 6 August 1898 in South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess. Oscar Monroe Bagwell married Clara Lee Smith before 1916. Oscar Monroe Bagwell died on 24 November 1951 at age 53.¹ He was buried at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Eva Bagwell was born on 6 April 1910 in South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess. As of before 1932,her married name was Durham.² Eva Bagwell married George Hulon Durham before 1932.² Eva Bagwell died on 19 September 1996 at age 86.¹ She was buried at Guthrie Grove Church of God Cemetery, Pelzer, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     IV Bagwell was also known as Io V. Bagwell. He was born on 27 April 1902 in South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess. IV Bagwell died on 2 July 1921 in South Carolina at age 19 where he drowned while swimming in the Savannah River.¹ He was buried at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Furman George Bagwell was also known as George Furman Bagwell. He was born on 12 November 1906 in South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess. Furman George Bagwell married Annie Kate Durham before 1929. Furman George Bagwell died on 12 November 1987 in Williamston, Anderson County, South Carolina, at age 81.¹ He was buried at Guthrie Grove Church of God Cemetery, Pelzer, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Clara Lee Smith was born on 12 January 1900 in South Carolina.¹ As of before 1916,her married name was Bagwell. She married Oscar Monroe Bagwell, son of Alonzo Henderson Bagwell and Ruth Augustus Burgess, before 1916. Clara Lee Smith died on 6 August 1992 at age 92.¹ She was buried at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Troy A. "Jack" Bagwell was born on 12 December 1917 in South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Oscar Monroe Bagwell and Clara Lee Smith. Troy A. "Jack" Bagwell died on 28 April 2000 at age 82.¹ He was buried at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.¹

     Mary E. Cason was born on 16 September 1882 in Oaklawn, Greenville County, South Carolina. As of 14 February 1921,her married name was Bagwell. She married Alonzo Henderson Bagwell, son of Frederick Bagwell and Samantha Caroline Callaham, on 14 February 1921 at Anderson County, South Carolina. Mary E. Cason died on 24 September 1972 in Mauldin, Greenville County, South Carolina, at age 90. She was buried at Washington Cemetery, Ware Place, Greenville County, South Carolina.

     Jessie Hazel Loftis was born on 30 November 1923. As of 23 December 1950,her married name was Bagwell. She married Joseph Thomas Bagwell, son of Thomas Wilton Bagwell and Eunice Ida Trotter, on 23 December 1950. Jessie Hazel Loftis died on 13 October 2003 at age 79 Jessie Hazel Loftis Bagwell, 89, formerly of Old River Road, widow of Joseph Thomas Bagwell, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Countryside Village in Easley, where she was a resident for the last four years.

Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late David Eugene and Minnie Lee Lancaster Loftis. She retired from Union Carbide and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Horace Loftis and Chester Loftis; and sister, Geneva Chambers.
She was buried at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina.

     Jack Butler Bagwell is the son of Thomas Wilton Bagwell and Eunice Ida Trotter. Jack Butler Bagwell married Peggy Scott Jenkins after 1959.

     Carolyn Bagwell was born in 1939 in South Carolina. She was the daughter of Thomas Wilton Bagwell and Eunice Ida Trotter. As of after 1940,her married name was Garrett. Carolyn Bagwell married Berry Vance Garrett after 1940. Carolyn Bagwell died on 30 December 2017 in South Carolina


Carolyn Bagwell Garrett, 78, wife of Berry Vance Garrett, passed away, December 30, 2017.
Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Wilton and Eunice Ida Trotter Bagwell. She was a member of Grove Station Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Cynthia Chastain of Austell, GA, Teresa White of Woodstock, GA, and Kimberly Dunn of Cumming, GA; brother, Jack Bagwell of Piedmont; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a son, Berry Vance Garrett, Jr.

     Tom J. Lemaster was born on 10 January 1849.¹ He married Mildred B. Bagwell, daughter of Littleton Bagwell Jr. and Eliza Haynes, after 1880.¹ Tom J. Lemaster died on 26 January 1923 at age 74.¹

     Claude S. Bagwell was born on 2 November 1904.¹ He was the son of Thomas Simpson Bagwell and Polly Ann Allen.¹ Claude S. Bagwell died on 20 September 1907 at age 2.¹ He was buried at Glendale Cemetery, Glendale, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     Infant Bagwell died on 26 April 1908.¹ She was born on 26 April 1908.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Simpson Bagwell and Polly Ann Allen.¹ Infant Bagwell was buried at Glendale Cemetery, Glendale, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

     Annie Bell Smith was also known as Amy Belle Smith. She was born in 1886.¹ As of after 1900,her married name was Bagwell.¹ She married Jefferson Arnold Bagwell, son of William Henry Bagwell and Adaline "Addie Mae" Smith, after 1900.¹ Annie Bell Smith died on 22 April 1934.¹ She was buried at Broadmouth Church Cemetery, Honea Path, Abbeville County, South Carolina.¹

     Clifton Arnold Bagwell was born on 20 July 1908 in South Carolina. He was the son of Jefferson Arnold Bagwell and Annie Bell Smith. He enlisted in the US Army at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Clifton Arnold Bagwell married Lois Estelle Taylor on 15 May 1948 at Greenwood County, South Carolina. Clifton Arnold Bagwell died on 15 May 1961 in Greenwood County, South Carolina, at age 52. He was buried at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.

     William Thurman Bagwell was also known as Thurmond William. He was born on 24 August 1910 in Abbeville County, South Carolina. He was the son of Jefferson Arnold Bagwell and Annie Bell Smith. William Thurman Bagwell married Essie Irene Anglin on 21 February 1948 at Greenwood County, South Carolina. William Thurman Bagwell died on 9 February 1966 in Abbeville County, South Carolina, at age 55. He was buried at Broadmouth Church Cemetery, Honea Path, Abbeville County, South Carolina.

     Mattie Lee Bagwell was born on 7 August 1914 in Abbeville County, South Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Jefferson Arnold Bagwell and Annie Bell Smith. Mattie Lee Bagwell married Willie Eugene Haynes after 1925.¹ Mattie Lee Bagwell married Clyde Alfred Lusk after 1940.¹ Mattie Lee Bagwell died on 12 March 1974 in Honea Path, South Carolina, at age 59.¹ She was buried at Broadmouth, Honea Path, Abbeville County, South Carolina.¹

     John Lewis Bagwell was born in 1914 in Abbeville County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Jefferson Arnold Bagwell and Annie Bell Smith. John Lewis Bagwell married Helen Riles after 1930. John Lewis Bagwell married Kathleen H. Knight on 15 October 1932 at Ware Shoals, South Carolina. John Lewis Bagwell died on 4 November 1979 in Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.
