Tyler Thomas Leroy Bagwell

May 3, 1980 – May 19, 2020

Tyler was born May 3, 1980, to Janice and Carl (R.C.) Bagwell at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He passed away May 19 in Denver, Colorado after a work-related accident.

Dr. Corngata was Janice's doctor and when Tyler was born his monitor was twisted on top of his head, he was very active and Dr. C remarked, "you now have a Martian." His family moved to Conifer, Colorado, where he grew up and attended elementary though high school.

Tyler loved visiting his grandparents, Lee and Bertie Lee Haggard, at their ranch in Council Hill, Oklahoma, where he took his first baby steps for his Grandpa Lee. They both had hearty laughs. Tyler loved fishing with his grandmother, Bertie Lee, catching perch and catfish.

After high school, Tyler attended Warren Technical School, where Mr. Mac was his favorite instructor. Tyler became an expert welder.

Tyler met the love of his life, Tara Frazee, and they were blessed with one son, Taylan James, who Tyler dearly loved. Tyler was a past member of the LDS church in Evergreen Meadows and was baptized by his father at the Lakewood Stake Church. He was Life BSA Scout with Troop 400.

Tyler had six sisters, Twila Dawn Bagwell, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Trina Valdez, Rupert, Idaho; Tara Lee Mellor, Spanish Fork, Utah; Tawnya Simmons Tryon, Nebraska; Tiera Kay Bagwell, Conrad, Montana; Terrin Civilla Califf, Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Tyler had many nieces and nephews and his step mother Cherie Daye Bagwell, who loved him as her own son. Tyler's uncles and aunts in Springdale, Arkansas: George and Maggie, David and Betty and Eldon and Audrey Bagwell, will all miss him.


He was buried at Council Hill Cemetery, Council Hill, Muskogee County, Oklahoma.

Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict era. He married Nila Bagwell on Jan. 4, 1990, in Van Buren, Ark. He was a Master Mason and Scottish Rite Mason. He passed away at a local nursing center at the age of 81. Survivors include his wife, Nila Wansick, of McAlester; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jan Wansick, of McAlester; grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Wansick, of Norman, Brynna Wansick, of Mobile, Ala., Erin Hampton, of Norman, and great-grandchildren, Sophie Wansick, of McAlester, Jaycee Wansick, of Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Wansick, and three sisters, Mary (Tootsie ) Lardy, Helen Webber and Florence Narginakis. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Charles Neff officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.


He was buried at Oak Hill Memorial Park, McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.

Hal Roe Brown and Betty Jo Bagwell were adopted after 1937. Hal Roe Brown and James Homer Bagwell were adopted after 1937. Hal Roe Brown died on 20 June 1986 in Ector County, Texas, at age 70. He was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Pecos, Reeves County, Texas.

Mrs. Vicki Lynn Bagwell, age 46 of Dallas, died Monday, September 3, 2007. Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday at the Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna, with the Rev. Cecil Dutton officiating. Burial will be in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.

Vicki had been a longtime resident of Cobb County before moving to Dallas. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church.

Surviving are husband, Rocky Bagwell of Dallas; father, Ralph Lacey of Dallas; mother and step-father, Jeanie and Jerry Cheek of Smyrna; brothers, Ray Lacey of Dallas, Del Cheek of Smyrna; sister, Lisa Baggett of Marietta; godchildren, Robert and Alyssa Baggett and Jason Waldrop all of Marietta; her very special adopted son, Rusty the Dog; Lynn also is survived by a host of other family, special friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Wednesday at the funeral home. Published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sept. 5, 2007.
