Mr. Donald “Donnie: Barrie Bagwell age 77, of Starke passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. Mr. Bagwell was born on August 9, 1946, in Bradford County to the late Donald Franklin and Dorothy Rae (Dixon) Bagwell and was a lifelong area resident. Don was a member of First Baptist Church of Starke and retired from the United States Army and Florida National Guard as a Command Sergeant Major. During his 32-year military career, he also worked for the Florida Department of Transportation as a structural material and research lab manager. His philosophy was “Let No Soul Cry Out, If Only I had Been Trained”. Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Morrison) Bagwell of Starke, son, Donald “Byron” Bagwell of Keystone Heights, nephew, Shane Johnson of Plano, Texas, and brother in-law Johnnie Johnson of Starke. The family will receive friends in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel on Thursday, April 11, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors.      Hattie Louise Crabtree was born on 8 September 1902. As of 1934,her married name was Bagwell. She married Walter Arthur Bagwell, son of Andrew Jackson Bagwell and Margaret Caroline Thompson, in 1934. Hattie Louise Crabtree died on 17 August 1978 at age 75. She was buried at Poplar Springs Cemetery, Poplar Springs, Roane County, Tennessee.

     Margaret Anna Bagwell was born on 2 August 1934. She was the daughter of Walter Arthur Bagwell and Hattie Louise Crabtree. As of after 1952,her married name was Donaldson. Margaret Anna Bagwell married (?) Donaldson after 1952. Margaret Anna Bagwell died on 18 November 2018 in Rockwood, Roane County, Tennessee, at age 84

Margaret Anna Bagwell Donaldson age 84 of Rockwood passed away Sunday, November 18,2018 at Signature Health Care of Rockwood.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She owned and operated a beauty salon in Memphis, Tennessee for many years.

Survivors include daughter and son in law Denise and Charles Rains, Sons and daughter in law, Gregory and Linda Donaldson, Michael Donaldson, 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grand children 1 Great Great Grandchild and special family members Donna and Johnny Bryson.

Memorial Service will be November 26, 2018 at 6:30 p.m with Rev. J.C. Allan officiating in the Kyker Chapel.

Private interment at Poplar Springs Cemetery.

     Roscoe Lee Bagwell was born on 8 April 1929 in Virginia.¹ He was the son of Coley Fitzhugh Bagwell and Beatrice Drummond.¹ Roscoe Lee Bagwell appeared on the 1950 United States Federal Census for Lee, Accomack County, Virginia, enumerated on 11 April 1950.¹ He died on 17 November 1971 in Nassawadox, Northampton County, Virginia, at age 42. He was buried at Mount Nebo Cemetery, Melfa, Virginia.

     Annie Rich Bagwell is the daughter of Coley Fitzhugh Bagwell and Beatrice Drummond.¹ Annie Rich Bagwell married Thomas Joseph Boston after 1950.

     Geraldine M. Bagwell is the daughter of Vernon Hampton Bagwell Jr. and Janie Elizabeth Marshall.

     Delores Constance Bagwell was born on 26 February 1942 in Accomack County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Vernon Hampton Bagwell Jr. and Janie Elizabeth Marshall. Delores Constance Bagwell died on 20 December 2002 at age 60.

     Mazie Eloise Bagwell is the daughter of Vernon Hampton Bagwell Jr. and Janie Elizabeth Marshall. Mazie Eloise Bagwell married James Lowery in 1972 at Delaware.

     James Lowery married Mazie Eloise Bagwell, daughter of Vernon Hampton Bagwell Jr. and Janie Elizabeth Marshall, in 1972 at Delaware.

     Leonard Bagwell is the son of William Henry Bagwell and Constance Otelia Allen.

     Clifton Manville Bagwell JR. was born on 5 February 1946 in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. He was the son of Clifton Manville Bagwell Sr. and Ruby Carrie Booker. Clifton Manville Bagwell JR. married June D. (?) circa 1969. Clifton Manville Bagwell JR. died on 21 April 2024 in Floyd County, Georgia, at age 78


Mr. Clifton Manville Bagwell, Jr., age 78, passed away on April 21, 2024, with family at his side. He was born February 5th, 1946, in Rome, GA, to parents, Clifton Manville Bagwell, Sr., and Ruby Carrie Bagwell.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. June D. Bagwell; son, David Bagwell (Emily); granddaughter, Blakeley Bagwell, and grandson, William Bagwell; sister-in-law, Lynn Dougherty; and brothers-in-law, Ray Dougherty (Charlotte) and Frank Dougherty.

After completing his undergraduate degree and ROTC program at Auburn University, Cliff married June and served as an officer in the US Air Force until 1972. He was stationed in CA and SD. Cliff and June returned to Rome in 1973 and Cliff continued his career in banking until 1983 and then with the State of GA until his retirement in 2007. Cliff is a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Rome.

Cliff loved all things outdoors and was happiest when he was outside being active. He grew up riding horses, camping, exploring, and hiking. He loved working on his property clearing brush, building rock gardens, and landscaping.

He found his true outdoor passion when he began whitewater kayaking in the early 1980s. He developed many close friendships with fellow paddling enthusiasts in the Rome, GA area. He kayaked all over the SE and as far away as OR/WA with his son. However, his favorite river was the Ocoee River in TN, and he spent countless days camping near that river with friends and family.

He enjoyed his retirement with June treasuring their trips to the mountains, National Parks, and beaches. He never found a trail that he wouldn’t try to explore with her at his side.

A celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Rome, GA at 2pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm.
