Betty Whaley Bagwell died March 6, 2008. She was born April 1, 1927 in Bibb County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Franklin and Mabel Thrailkill Whaley. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor as a graphic artist. Graveside services were at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include a son, Michael Charles Bagwell; grandsons, Jeffery Nolan Bagwell and Michael Charles Bagwell, Jr., Temple, Ga; great-grandchildren, Vanesse Rene Bagwell, Maya Bagwell, and Cayden Bagwell; an aunt, Joy Marshall, Peachtree City; and cousins, Maria Darnell and Kathy Darnell, both of Martinsburg, W. Va., Bruce Sartin, Rockville, Md., Kip Marshall, Peachtree City, W. R. Huycke, Hampton Roads, Va., the Rev. Richard Huycke, Newman, Jay Huycke, and Wanda Moore, both of Duluth, and Bruce Sartin, Alexandra, Va. Cremation Society of the South at Eagle's Landing was in charge.

He was born September 18, 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Mr. Michael C. Bagwell, Sr. and Mrs. Darleen Head Hamilton. He worked for Toyota Forklift of Atlanta as a mechanic for seven years. He was an avid music fan who also enjoyed working on and repairing computers, cars and other things. However he most of all loved spending time with his children and family. His brother, Eric Tillman, Jr. and stepfather Robert Hamilton, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, April Velez Bagwell of Villa Rica; daughters, Vanessa Bagwell of Villa Rica, Maya Bagwell of Villa Rica; son, Cayden Bagwell of Villa Rica; mother, Mamie Darleen Head Hamilton of Dallas; father, Michael C. Bagwell, Sr. of Riverdale; brothers and sisters-in-law, Casey and Cristy Tillman of Dallas, Charlie and Mallory Bagwell of Villa Rica; sister, Allison Cason of Villa Rica. Our dear Mother went to heaven on Monday, July 2, 2018. She was 93 years old when she met her sweet Lord and Savior Jesús Christ. She went peacefully in her sleep at home with all her children present.

She is predeceased by her husband William Carl Bagwell, grandsons Justin Lee Hasty and Michael Leslie Jr., four brothers, William, Greer, Ray, Van and five sisters, Lena, Ollie, Lottie, Martha and her twin sister Wilma.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Leslie, daughter Jacqualyn Austin and son Joe Bagwell, grandsons Jeffrey Austin and wife Jennifer, Vann Hasty and wife Dana, Jason Austin and wife Kat, Matthew Bagwell, Jake Bagwell, great-grandchildren Caroline Hasty, William Hasty, Elliot Austin, Hawkins Bagwell, Maxwell Austin, Marley Austin, John Rively, Kyle Rively and Ryan Rively, grand-dogs Jake, Leroy, Lucy, Shadow, Bear, Tex and Elliot the cat.

She was the best mother in the world and we loved her dearly. We will miss her but we celebrate her life and all the wonderful things she did for us, taught us and most of all the gift of love and kindness she left us.
