Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. from the graveside in the Bagwell Family Cemetery, with Chaplain Kirk Gibson officiating. Family and friends should assemble at the grave.
Born in and a resident of Hephzibah all of his life, Mr. Bagwell was the son of the late Joseph Leo and Mary Betty Johnson Bagwell. He was a proud graduate of Hephzibah High School, an avid guitar player who had played with his band Stone Hinge and in the church band at Maranatha Church in Waynesboro where he had been a member. He loved cars, racing go carts and working throughout his career at Bob Richards Chevrolet, Duke Buick, C&C Automotive and finally Miller Auto and Transmission.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, William “Joey” Bagwell (Shannon), his daughter, Alisha Bagwell; his brothers, Perry Bagwell (Carolyn), Chris Bagwell (Diane); his great aunt, Vivian Bagwell; his great uncle: Furman J. “Biggun” Bagwell, Sr; and his beloved grandchildren, Amber Jody Bagwell Fields, Madison Shaw (Chase), Samantha Molly Faith Bagwell, Alysia Daniell Tucker, Kendall Bagwell and William Joseph Bagwell, Jr.

Wade Welborn Bagwell, 92, of Greenville, SC passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late William F. Bagwell, Sr. and Emma Richardson Bagwell of Pelzer.

Wade was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He is survived by the love of his life, Bobbie, his wife of nearly 76 years, his daughter Kathy Sisk (Tim), granddaughter Lindsey Connell (John), grandson Leighton Sisk (Kendall), and great-granddaughter Addison Connell, all of Greenville. He is also survived by sister Sybil Williams and brother Lonnie Bagwell, both of Anderson.

As a member of the US Marine Corps, Wade proudly served his country during the Korean War. Wade was a Christian, and faithful member of Edwards Road Baptist Church for over 50 years. After a long and successful career, Wade retired from Winn Dixie. He enjoyed spending time outside fishing, golfing and gardening.

In addition to his loving parents, Wade was preceded in death by his brothers William F. Bagwell, Carl Bagwell, Ellis Bagwell and Hoyt Bagwell, and sisters Edith Harrison, Gladys Spearman, and Ruth Bagwell.

Funeral services will take place Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Edwards Road Baptist Church, 1050 Edwards Road, Greenville, SC 29615. Prior to the service, his family will have visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church. Contributions in Wade’s name may be made to Edward’s Road Baptist Church.

Born in West Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Albert and Pearl Bargoil Durham. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of West Pelzer Baptist Church and was active in her community. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Owen of Hilton Head Island; her son, Ron Bagwell (Paige) of Flowery Branch, GA; granddaughters, Teresa Snipes (Sean) of Hilton Head Island, Julie Hinson (Chris) of Tomball, TX, Amanda Knope (Ed) of Greenville, and Lucy Bagwell of Flowery Branch, GA; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her brother, Sam Durham of West Pelzer, and her sister, Dot Chapman of Anderson.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Boots Durham, Tommy Durham, and Donnie Durham; and her son-in-law, Terry Owen.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Carlton Wilson, Sr., and Ruth Emily Martin Wilson. Mrs. Bagwell was a Godly mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was known to her family and friends as “Gammie”.
She retired from Anderson School District One after 31 years as an elementary teacher in Greenville and Anderson Counties. She enjoyed hand crafts and was an accomplished seamstress/tailor. As a member of White Plains Baptist Church since 1951, Mrs. Bagwell was an active member, serving in many leadership capacities, including church pianist for approximately 25 years.
Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Carol and Bill Green of Pelzer, Cynthia and Ted Bunton of Piedmont; son, James Ellis, Jr. and Susan Bagwell of Piedmont; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Cynthia Ann Wilson of Starr; six grandchildren, James David and Amy Bagwell, Suzanne and Steven Garrett, Ben Bunton, Brian Bunton, Jonathan and Sherry Green, and Rachel Green; and nine great-grandchildren, Tyler, Evan, and Annabeth Bagwell, Lauren, Emily, and Thomas Green, Wyatt Bradberry, Eli and Emily Garrett.
The family would like to acknowledge her special friend, Shirley West and her loving caregivers, Deborah Jennings, Kathy Doolittle, Martha Whitacre, Dino Hicks, and Anne Moore.
She was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Edward, Willis, Wallis, Kyle, and Sidney Wilson; and grandson, David Green.
