     John Allen Bagwell was born on 11 April 1951. He was the son of James Willis Bagwell and Beatrice Effie Pittman. John Allen Bagwell died on 27 March 2025 in Greenville Hospital, Greenville, South Carolina, at age 73


Mr. John Allen Bagwell, Sr., 73, of 105 Roxanne Street Williamston SC, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bagwell was born April 11, 1951 in Greenville SC, a son of the late Jake and Beatrice Pittman Bagwell. Survivors include one son John Allen Bagwell Jr. of the home, two daughters, Sheila Bagwell Bates (Jeff) of Union, SC; April Bagwell Austin (Thomas) of Duncan, SC; two brothers Jimmy Bagwell (Sandy) of Orlando, FL; Gary Bagwell of Piedmont, SC; one sister Linda Bagwell of Piedmont, SC; and six grandchildren: Cali Bagwell, Presley Bagwell, Brandon Bates, Tyler Bates (Angie), Claire Austin and Levi Austin.
Johnny, as he was known to family and old friends, was a painter by trade and took great pride in his work. His children have fond memories with him of browsing the flea markets looking for collectibles, listening to Steve Miller Band, and looking for shark teeth on the beach. Despite an accident years ago that took his senses of taste and smell, he was known for his delicious cooking and making the best tasting boiled peanuts and beef jerky around! Most importantly, Johnny was of the Baptist faith and came to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior while attending the church where his longtime friend Rudy Halstead is the Pastor. For this, his family is most grateful.
A memorial service is planned for April 13, 2025 at 3:00 pm, two days after his 74th birthday, at Agape Baptist Church 198 New Cut Rd. Piedmont, SC.

     Beatrice Effie Pittman was born circa 1926 in Georgia. She married James Willis Bagwell, son of Clifton Murphy Anderson Bagwell and Jessie Mae Hicks, before 1950. As of before 1950,her married name was Bagwell. Beatrice Effie Pittman died on 5 November 2016 in South Carolina.

     James Willis Bagwell Jr. is the son of James Willis Bagwell and Beatrice Effie Pittman. James Willis Bagwell Jr. married Sandy (?) after 1970.

     Sandy (?) married James Willis Bagwell Jr., son of James Willis Bagwell and Beatrice Effie Pittman, after 1970.

     Gary Bagwell is the son of James Willis Bagwell and Beatrice Effie Pittman.

     Linda Bagwell is the daughter of James Willis Bagwell and Beatrice Effie Pittman.

     John Allen Bagwell Jr. is the son of John Allen Bagwell.

     Shelia Bagwell is the daughter of John Allen Bagwell. Shelia Bagwell married Jeff S. Bates after 2005.

     Jeff S. Bates married Shelia Bagwell, daughter of John Allen Bagwell, after 2005.

     April M. Bagwell is the daughter of John Allen Bagwell. April M. Bagwell married Thomas Austin after 1995.

     Thomas Austin married April M. Bagwell, daughter of John Allen Bagwell, after 1995.

     Lisa Bagwell is the daughter of Ronald Wilson Bagwell.

     Amanda Bagwell is the daughter of Ronald Wilson Bagwell.

     Erin Bagwell is the daughter of Ronald Wilson Bagwell.

     Jill Marie Kilburn was born on 2 July 1960 in Houma, Terrabonne Parish, Louisiana. As of 1999,her married name was Bagwell. She married Jerry Jason Bagwell, son of Joe Wayne Bagwell and Lou Etta Bowman, in 1999. Jill Marie Kilburn died on 28 January 2025 in Garyville, Louisiana, at age 64


(07/02/60-1/28/25) longtime resident of Garyville, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025 in Baton Rouge. Wife of Jerry Bagwell, she is also survived by her daughter, Tasha Rae St Pierre-Raphile (Cardell), a sister, Penny Ann Kilburn, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored!

Jill was pre deceased by her parents, Stanley "Peck" and Gloria Jean Kilburn, and her only brother, Stanley "Sonny" Kilburn, Jr.

Jill and her husband Jerry owned Bomber's in Reserve for 15 years. They will be laid to rest together along with her in-laws, Joe and Lou Etta Bagwell in Alabama.


She was cremated.

     Michael Glisson married Susan Bagwell, daughter of Joe Wayne Bagwell and Lou Etta Bowman, after 1965. Michael Glisson died before 2010.

     Ronnie Dean Phillips married Misty Lynn Bagwell, daughter of Guy Nolan Bagwell and Bonnie Fae Baugh, after 1990.

     Janet L. Bagwell is the daughter of Clarence Pearson Bagwell and Carolyn E. Campbell. Janet L. Bagwell married Susan Auton after 1990.

     Sandi Bagwell is the daughter of Clarence Pearson Bagwell and Carolyn E. Campbell. Sandi Bagwell married Mark Burnham after 1990.
