     Sallie Harris was born on 7 January 1854.¹ As of 5 May 1873,her married name was Broughton.¹ She married Joseph Melville Broughton, son of Joseph Broughton and Mary Martha "Polly" Bagwell, on 5 May 1873.¹ Sallie Harris died on 8 February 1910 at age 56.¹

     Joseph Melville Broughton Jr. was born in 1885.¹ He was the son of Joseph Melville Broughton and Sallie Harris.¹ Joseph Melville Broughton Jr. married Alice Harper Wilson on 14 December 1916.¹ Joseph Melville was the Democratic governor of the state of North Carolina from 1941 to 1945. A lawyer by training (and a graduate of Harvard Law School), Broughon worked as a school principal and journalist before actively entering the legal profession. As governor, one of his major legacies was the extension of the public school term from six to nine months. Broughton briefly served in the United States Senate from 1948 to 1949. He died on 6 March 1949 in Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland.

     Pearl Mae Bagwell was born on 5 February 1896 in Pike County, Arkansas.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Oliver Eugene David Bagwell and Annetta Grace Beers.¹ As of 2 July 1911,her married name was Herrin. Pearl Mae Bagwell married Travis Alexander Herrin on 2 July 1911 at Clark County, Arkansas. Pearl Mae Bagwell died on 19 August 1962 in Bismarck, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, at age 66. She was buried at Oak Bower Cemetery, Oak Bower, Hot Spring County, Arkansas.⁴

     Lewis Clayton Bagwell was also known as Louis Clayton Bagwell. He was born on 14 June 1902 in Bismark, Arkansas.¹ He was the son of Oliver Eugene David Bagwell and Annetta Grace Beers.¹ Lewis Clayton Bagwell married Eva Frances Roe on 11 September 1925 at Clark County, Arkansas. Lewis Clayton Bagwell and Eva Frances Roe were divorced on 14 June 1933 at Nevada County, Arkansas. Lewis Clayton Bagwell married Mable Winnie Monk on 20 July 1933 at Nevada County, Arkansas. Lewis Clayton Bagwell died on 25 November 1964 in England, Lonoke County, Arkansas, at age 62

Man Drowns When Boat Overturns
Brinkley--- Louis Clayton Bagwell, 52, of England drowned Thursday when his boat overturned while he was fishing in Lake Nicholson 8 miles south of here.
Bagwell and Carroll Covington, also of England, were jumped from the power boat when it struck a snag. Covington told officers he swam to shore and started back for Bagwell but his companion disappeared before he could reach him.
Bagwell's body was recovered about 4 1-2 hours later.
Bagwell, a native of Hot Springs, was a barber and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church.
Survivor's include his widow, Mrs. Mable Munk Bagwell; four sons, Billy Joe Bagwell of North Little Rock, Gerald Bagwell with the Navy at Pearl Harbor and William Bagwell and Robert L. Bagwell of England; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Harrison of California and Miss Wilma Bagwell and
Miss Peggy Dianne Bagwell of England; two brothers, Milton Bagwell of California and Herbert Bagwell of Fort Smith; a sister, Miss Mable Bagwell of Prescott, and four grandchildren. He was buried at Mulberry Cemetery, England, Lonoke County, Arkansas.
