Man Drowns When Boat Overturns
Brinkley--- Louis Clayton Bagwell, 52, of England drowned Thursday when his boat overturned while he was fishing in Lake Nicholson 8 miles south of here.
Bagwell and Carroll Covington, also of England, were jumped from the power boat when it struck a snag. Covington told officers he swam to shore and started back for Bagwell but his companion disappeared before he could reach him.
Bagwell's body was recovered about 4 1-2 hours later.
Bagwell, a native of Hot Springs, was a barber and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church.
Survivor's include his widow, Mrs. Mable Munk Bagwell; four sons, Billy Joe Bagwell of North Little Rock, Gerald Bagwell with the Navy at Pearl Harbor and William Bagwell and Robert L. Bagwell of England; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Harrison of California and Miss Wilma Bagwell and
Miss Peggy Dianne Bagwell of England; two brothers, Milton Bagwell of California and Herbert Bagwell of Fort Smith; a sister, Miss Mable Bagwell of Prescott, and four grandchildren.
He was buried at Mulberry Cemetery, England, Lonoke County, Arkansas.
