Virgie Mae Bagwell passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center at the age of seventy-nine. She was born in Gainesville, Texas July 15, 1936, the daughter of John Henry and Charity Elizabeth (Stephens) Lyle.

Virgie was a homemaker and had worked at Linda Jo Shoe Factory for fifteen years. She was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Artie Wayland Bagwell of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Randy Germany of Gainesville; grandsons, Brad Germany and wife, Shelbie of Gainesville, Stephen Battles of Whitesboro, Artie Weir of Gainesville and Tony Weir, Jr. of Gainesville; granddaughter, Karamee Kiser and husband Konah of Gainesville, fifteen great-grandchildren and two on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Paula Battles; brother, Ed Worth Lyle; sister, Leta Faye Malone; grandson, Cody Patrick Germany and half-brother, Ray Lyle.

Funeral Services held Sunday, December 13th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. David Whittington officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Funeral Service for George L. Bagwell, Jr., age 69, will be Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Ragland Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bagwell passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharron Bagwell and parents, George & Edress Bagwell. He retired from the St. Clair County Sheriffs Department and was a Navy & Marine Corps Veteran. He is survived by his son, George L. Bagwell, III; daughter, April M. Bagwell; grandchildren, Adam Al-Ahmad, Cameron Greene, Trey Greene, Dawson Bagwell, Karissa Bagwell; sisters, Leona Douglas, Georgette Bagwell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UAB Pallative Care or to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Boys Ranch or the St. Clair County Children's Place.
